Article says lie perpendicular to bench with only shoulders on it. I have always laid my body in the same plane as bench with shoulders thru butt atop the bench (with knees bent and feet on bench).
Any difference between the 2 approaches?
I find it much easier to pick up dumbbell and lay...
Probably the best article I have read here in quite a while. I am 67 yrs and have been lifting several times a week for the last 25 years. I have about 2 guiding principles (besides getting my butt to the gym) - keep putting some more weight on the bar and lift it + pain is weakness leaving the...
A few years ago I read of this exercise as an alternative to shrugs and I can feel much more of the traps working using this technique rather than a shrug.
Sit at a Smith Machine with the bar at about the upper reach of a shoulder press. Now load up the bar with a weight that is much more than...
There is some good info in this article and I know 1 short piece cannot cover everything. But some basics might be good. For example, I have never really thought about my lifting but I have been lifting now about 25 years. Basically, I just wanted to remain strong while my contemporaries fell...
I don't if this helps or not. A few years ago I got into a building project for several months. Lots of carrying heavy stuff up and down stairs. One night I noticed my right nut was swollen and extremely tender to the touch. I kinda freaked out thinking Big C and went to a urologist. He told me...
Hey Guys - Can someone give me a little advice?
I have some serious arthritis in my left shoulder. The Dr says "operate!" and I say "No" b/c already had had same done to right shoulder and it's 4 mos+ away from gym to recover and I also lost some strength. So, I will put surgery off forever, if...
Thank you all for the advice/help. Looks like I will see Thai Dr and start TU quarterly injections. I will monitor T levels and post here for anyone interested. Thanks again....
Can any of you give me some advice regarding T- replacement. (I am 66 and been lifting about 25 yrs and have done about a 2 hour workout 4X/wk for last few yrs.) I have used Androgel regularly for last 7 or 8 years which gives me a good T score. But I am now living in Thailand and my US Dr has...

Thanks - am just catching up on old articles I didn't have time to read. Next time at gym I will try kneeling vs standing and see how their feel compares...
Can anyone give me a little "Land Mine" info? The guy in the vid is kneeling. I have been doing them as a pec exercise for the past year but I do them standing - and alternating arms after each set. What's the dif kneeling or standing?
Good article, good points to keep in mind. I am 66 and one my problems is doing too much. Luckily there haven't been any serious overuse issues. So, it is good to read that a little less might be a lot better. Thanks.
I see these kinds of pictorials in magazines - the guy dragging a huge tractor tire up some hill with a cityscape below and think "100% total BS" as we'll as nonsense......
