thats funny, i've always enjoyed it. but then i'm a high paid obnoxious prick who gets to choose from multiple offers, and has companies fight over me. Last time, a major company that you would all recognize if I named them dropped the one recruiting company since they were so irritated over not getting me. it was funny really
Just graduated with a BS in computer science.
So I'm looking for either a programming job.
Or a personal training position.

Either one will suck to get without experience. Most companies would rather pay the 40-50k a year to a H1B visa contractor who has 5 years experience than take in someone fresh out of school.
Take the first programming job in .Net you can find, for whatever the horrible pay is, and get a year or two experience then leap out for real pay.
Or if you can write java, get a REAL mans job. .Net is for pussies.
.Net locks you into one vendor and one platform, and your future relies on Micr0j3rks. Java gets you into Oracle, IBM, Redhat, Sun, and a whole plethora of other major companies you'd like to work for. .Net traps you....
Wait... you forgot humble! :stick:
JK Easy. That's a great position to be in. It's great to have that type of leverage with employers!
So how long have you been an "Exotic Dancer" :bb2:

Archaic closed mantra vendors will die a slow horrible death in the coming decades.
Don't hold back SW...how do you really feel???
Now I'm happy, I work for a company that lets me have flexible hrs, work from home when I want, its the best job on earth
Yeah, that's the key! Livin' the dream, Bro!
Yup, when you can email a co-worker and say I'm not coming in today, I feel a cold coming on. And just get some stuff done from the house and spend the day running around the house in your boxers, now that's a job. Great companies think alike.
The point being, one that most companies I believe will eventually adopt (at least where employees are more valuable and paid better than a honda costs), is that sick workers just get other workers sick. If you punish them for staying home sick, they're going to come to work and punish everyone else and blow the entire divisions productivity (especially if it's a particularly viral infection).
It's just nuts that companies force people to goto work for the sake of punching a time clock. But then again, we're the only civilized country in the world where 50 hour work weeks are the norm, besides slave countries like China. In Germany, France, and the former Cheq Republic, they work ~30 hours a week, and live much 'happier' lives. There again, their GDP sucks. But I guess you get what you work for right?
Alright fellas...where did you get your screen names from?
Mine is a nickname I got back in HS from a buddy of mine at a football game. Obviously, my name is Wil...hence The Wil Man.

Talk to any recruiter really, .Net is in way higher demand, and pays better. Java is just as closed as .Net is, as was proved when Sun sued microsoft over it. Go where the money is, and thats .Net![]()

I totally agree with your post on the sick time thing. I am amazed the companies punish workers for getting sick, I can think of jobs that I went IN when i was sick and called out to have a day off to enjoy because of their stupid 4 day a year with no personals policy.
France, and those other European nations are basically so socialistic that the government orders companies to give sick and vacation time. In return, the workers get to pay enormous taxes and suffer lower wages because of lost productivity. I'll take the old capitalist system anyday. Once you start climbing up the ladder, things get much better here fast! The people with the worst jobs, who work the hardest, are the people who have the least skills. I think that's the way it should be. I would actually eliminate the minimum wage and let employers determine the market, but that's just me.
I put an adjective and a noun together in a clever way.
That may have been my FIRST real post in this thread...sorry
Now back to our normal banter

too pimp
Actually, Sun just open-sourced java. The next major revision of the JRE will be completely open-sourced. Meaning that java app stacks will no longer be proprietary.

mine is just my nickname from way back. My first name with the first initial and last three letters of my last name. Nobody could pronounce my last name, it is 10 letter of Polish confusion, but not as confusing as that ******** puzzle.
Hey did anyone figure out the word scramble?
