Kwick Karb feedback thread

What I do, usually is this..immediately post workout I do the WMS mixture, plus refill a shaker w/ water so that I've drank 2 full shakers of water PWO.

20 or so mins later I'll do pre ground (in the Magic Bullet) oat powder (2 protein scoops, which works out to equal 1/2 cup of oats before they're ground) and 2 scoops of WPI.

For my solid meal 45 mins to 1 hr. later, I'll usually have Barilla Plus multigrain pasta and sometimes some milk w/ it. I usually save the EFA's for later meals just because I don't want to slow down absorption of the feedings that close to my workout.

It prob wouldn't really hurt to do some fish or flax oil w/ the pasta, and sometimes I do when i'm pressed for time and need to get those nutrients in, but I usually don't.

At bed time, it's usually Muscle Milk in 10-12 oz. of skim milk and 2 tbsp. of flax oil, not mixed in, but gulped down 1st and chased by the Muscle Milk. Everyone's got their own ways, but I like that plan for regrouping after a workout.

If I had to choose an ideal PWO regimen (leaving out a few secret goodies of my own) I would go pretty much with this. Kudos.

Thanks for the kudos on this. It means a lot coming from someone that's got a good amount of knowledge on nutrition and supps.

I used to use Gatorade or dextrose PWO, but I started getting away from that once WMS surfaced and I started reading about ppl. using ground oats in whey shakes. It sounds gross but actually is very easy to drink.

Dsade, since we're talking about post workout nutrition, what would you say about pre workout?

Smaller dose of WMS, maybe a mild NO booster or Norvaline, beta-alanine, and a few more goodies. Again, I would mention more but RPN/NP is going to bust out with a Pre/During and PWO combo.

Thanks for the pointer. I do usually use V-12 Turbo pre workout, too. I had gotten away from pre workout carbs when I was using Leviathan, since it has yohimbine and I didn't want to wipe out the lipolytic effect of that.

Now that I'm off of that, I may go w/ a 1/2 scoop of WMS pre workout mixed w/ the V-12. Speaking of beta-a, I'm going to be testing Incarnate starting in a week or so, so I'll be able to incorporate that as well.

I'm a pretty big fan of Palo Alto's products, if you couldn't tell. I'm kinda psyched about Incarnate and how it'll work synergistically w/ the WMS and V-12.

I am very impressed with the amplification by Kwik Karb of other nutrients. Beta-Alanine was one of the most noticeable.

Earlier in this thread it was said that 1 scoop should yield 38-40g of kwik karb. Is this 100% accurate? I have heard diiferently from other places saying 1 scoops would yield roughly 30g.

Depends on what size scoop you are using. The Kwik Karb seems to be around .5 grams per cc.

Allright sounds good. Is it standard that the protein scoops are always 70 cc scoops? Just curious since thats what I've been using. In my case in particular, an ON whey protein scoop.

The only thing standard is that they are probably all made in china. Seriously though, almost every different company uses a different scoop. Some companies say "we have x amount more protein per serving", but the truth is they just use a bigger scoop.

Just look around on the scoop and it should say what size it is somewhere, either on the bottom or on the inside.

Ok I gotcha. I have been using protein for about 4 years now and I have never even noticed that it said the size of the scoop on the bottom. I guess I'm not very observant lol.

I've noticed that some scoopers specify the cc and some don't.

I have 2 kilo's of kwik karb and 1 tub of green magnitude on the way, I plan on 125cc's of kwik karb (62.5gr) along with one serving of the GM. I was wondering what amount of water would be best because i've never used WMS. Thanks guys.

I will probably try that pre-WO mix you mentioned Dsade, I just put in a massive order to NP that will last me for months lol. Just one question tho, doesn't 3.2g of Beta-Alanine give some pretty intense flushing? I guess it depends on the person, I'll see how it goes for me.

Great Info nightfly and dsade on pwo protocol. I've been mixing WMS with protein creatine, flax, pudding, fruit, etc ALL in one PWO shake (lately they've been more than 30 mins after last rep too, I know, not good.)

Planing to switch to nightfly's Immediate/20 min tier keeping WMS : other ration >3:1.

Can you recommend which type and brand of BCAA's to take imeediately,,,and any suggestions on oats? (I usually have steelcut oatmeal at breakfast...would that work?, if so, how much (1/2cup)?

Also, I take about 1000mg of both Glutamine and Argenine on empty stomach after waking up on off-days...(follwoing my on-day)...Is this a good schedule to keep the aminos flowing.

Thanks all.
