CEL Cordarine/XPG Mitoburn Gel Log or "Are those my abs?!!"

So here we are — mid-July, the sun's high, the shirts are off, and I’m feelin’ lighter than I have in years. I’ve dropped about 45 pounds since February 2024, and I’ll tell ya… it feels damn good. But I’m not done yet. I’ve got my sights set on losing another 15–20 pounds by mid-October, just in time for hoodie season and maybe a little victory beach trip with the wife.

The plan? Keep things simple, steady, and dialed in. I’m eating around 2000 to 2200 calories a day, shooting for 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight, and keeping carbs between 100 and 125g depending on how hard I hit the weights or the pavement. The rest is filled in with healthy fats and some of the things that keep me feeling human.

Now, I’m adding in a couple new tools: CEL’s Cordarine to give the ol’ engine a little more endurance and burn, and XPG’s Mitoburn Gel, to see if we can melt off some of the tougher, more stubborn bits — the kind that don’t like to budge no matter how many miles you walk.

And hey — the wife’s hopping aboard the Mitoburn train too. She’s lookin’ to knock off 5–10 pounds, mostly for tone and tightness. So I’ll be dropping some updates on how it’s working for her as well. This whole thing is a team effort, even if she’s more of a beach chair girl and I’m the guy running sprints in the sand.

🍳📝 What You’ll Find in This Log:

This log’s gonna be part diary, part experiment, and part food & fitness scrapbook. I’ll be tracking:
  • Daily eats and macros (with some pics if the lighting behaves)
  • Supplement schedule and thoughts
  • Workout sessions — strength, cardio, and anything in between
  • Progress notes — energy, cravings, mood, sleep
  • Maybe even body pics along the way if I can keep the lighting from making me look like I live under a pier
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that slow and steady doesn’t have to mean boring. You can sip coffee in the morning sun, take care of business, and still dance your way into a leaner version of yourself — one plate, one workout, one good choice at a time.

So here we go — a little log to keep me honest, stay on track, and maybe help someone else down the line. Let’s see what Cordarine and Mitoburn can really do when the breeze is blowin’ right.

@sns8778 @GQdaLEGEND and anybody who wants to tag along!

🌞 Day 1 — The Gel, The Juice, and The Journey Begins

Got a little excited and slapped on some Mitoburn Gel before bed last night — couldn’t help myself. No fireworks, no tingles, no tossing and turning. I don’t always sleep like a rock anyway, but nothing felt off. Just drifted off like any other night, with the usual halfway wake-ups and dreams I won’t remember by noon.

This morning kicked off the first dose of Cordarine, paired up with my usual morning crew — a real island band of curcumin, DHM, Polygala XT, agmatine, Cissus, Niagen, and a pre-workout fat burner that’s been riding with me for over a year now. Felt smooth. Focused. Like the lights were all green, and the engine had a fresh oil change.

Hit my gut and arms with another round of Mitoburn Gel, figuring that’s the first place I’d like to see some leaner lines show up. The wife joined the fun too — she rubbed it into her stubborn zone and chased it with her own beachside cocktail: half a scoop of the fat burner pre, plus her daily collagen dose. She’s in for a slow burn drop of 5–10 pounds, nothing wild, just wanting to feel a little lighter on her feet.

So far, no drama, no jitters, no crash — just a solid start to what I hope is a high-tide chapter. We’re not crash dieting or chasing shortcuts, just nudging the body to do what it already knows how to do. One dose, one dab, one day at a time.

Not as much gym time this week or next — life’s doin’ what life does with work and family stuff takin’ the wheel a bit. But I carved out a solid little session this morning that left me good and sweaty.

Started with an EMOM burner:
  • 5 rounds of 10 50lb kettlebell swings and 10 ab rollers — nothing fancy, just grindin’ and breathin’.
Then rolled into 10 rounds of one-sided kettlebell ABCs, switching sides each round and bouncing between the 40 and 50lb bells. Shoulders were singing and the core was hangin’ on for dear life.

Wrapped it up with 20 minutes of Zone 2 into Zone 3 cycling, just lettin’ the legs hum while catching an episode of Vice Principals. (Any other Danny McBride fans out there? His stuff is like chaos with a southern drawl — right up my alley.)

Wasn't a long workout, but it hit all the right notes! Noticed a definite increase in sweat and I want to say endurance on the bike. Probably placebo after just one dose but I’m looking out for it too! I was curious and discovered a 2lb different in before/after weigh-ins! That said, I’m going to assume at this point that it was all water weight and have probably gained it back by now ¯\(ツ)

very nice should be fun .. i love cordarine adding on additional L-Baiba is nice stack ..xpg makes some top quality topicals .

slow and steady always wins the race :)

Oh yeah! XPG's Curcumin Gel is a daily for my wife. I have an ankle that gets jacked up every so often and a couple days of it really calms down the pain. I've used Ab-Solved, Lipoderm Xtreme, and Supress-C over this long run and they've all been great! Which reminds me that I really should be better about mini-reviews of products...

Following along. I'm 5 weeks into Cordarine and love it. Sometimes the thermo effect hits hard and I'm sweating just sitting in my air conditioned house... Never tried Mitoburn so interested to hear how that goes.

Welcome aboard, brotherman!

Side note — fair warning, that profile pic’s about 10 years old. Left it up as a little reminder of what’s possible when the habits are dialed in and the lighting’s just right (shoutout to the old bachelor pad bathroom — that place had magic mirrors). Funny thing is, I’m only about 20 pounds away from that version of me now. So here’s to seein’ what can happen when I stay consistent and keep showing up.

Looking forward to following along.

If you have any questions, let me know. I'm glad to help.

Congratulations on your weight loss this year.

Definitely in on this!

🌴Day 2 — Rest Day Rhythm & Routine

Taking it easy today — Mondays and Thursdays are my regular rest days, giving the body a chance to breathe and the joints a break. My weekly groove usually looks like this: hard sessions Tuesday/Wednesday and Friday/Saturday, with a mix of kickboxing and yoga on Sundays, and a few random stretches tossed in whenever I’m feelin’ a little creaky. I should probably stretch more — comes with the territory of getting older, but hey… old habits are stubborn like beach sand in your shoes.

This morning was a half dose of Cordarine to keep things humming, and a squirt of Mitoburn Gel for me and the missus. Still applying it to the usual spots — gut and arms for me, her go-to zone for tightening up. I'll get that 2nd dose of Cordarine around lunchtime.

Despite having a couple of beers with a buddy last night, weight’s holding steady, so we’ll call that a win and keep things movin’. Balance, not perfection — that’s the name of the game.

I agree about the balance part - I used to sabotage myself so bad by trying to keep things perfect and I'd get so discouraged over the slightest mess ups and that would lead to bigger ones.

Day 7 – Catching My Stride
Hey folks, sorry for the lack of updates—this weekend kind of got away from me. Ended up being busier than expected with a whole lot of bush trimming and weed spraying, both at my place and over at the father-in-law’s.

Weight’s been bouncing around between 226(!) and 230. Not much change from last week, but the silver lining is I haven’t gained anything either, so I’ll take that as a win.

On the bright side, I’m already noticing a boost in endurance. Went for a run on Saturday—the first in a couple of months—and it felt way easier than I expected. So something’s definitely working behind the scenes, maybe a little quiet mushroom magic doing its thing.

Feeling optimistic that it’s only going to keep getting better from here.

🌞 Day 9 — Back at My "Normal-ish" Weight

Woke up this morning and the scale hit me with a little surprise — 226 lbs, my lowest since 2020. Had to double-take just to be sure I wasn’t dreamin’. Haven’t been able to hit the gym like I’d like these past couple days — work’s been tossing both me and the wife around like a couple of beach balls in different tides — but somehow, the current’s still been pullin’ in the right direction.

This morning’s session wasn’t a full-blown storm, but it had enough wind to set sail. Kicked it off with 1 full dose of Cordarine and 1 pump of Mitoburn Gel rubbed right into the midsection — just a little pre-workout ritual to get the engines warm and the fat burners primed.

Then it was straight into a 30 minute HIIT cycling workout combined with some upper body dumbbell work will pedalling: 3x15 of various shoulder, bicep, and tricep exercises. Going more for pump than strength.

And man, it felt good. Not just in the arms and chest, but in the lungs. There’s a real uptick in stamina and endurance— like my body’s remembering how to go the distance without hitting redline. That kind of slow-burning progress doesn’t always come with fireworks, but it’s there in the background, hummin’ like a well-oiled motor.

Work’s still a little sideways for both me and the missus, but next week’s lookin’ clearer. If things settle down a bit, I’ll be back in my rhythm soon — getting some solid lifts in, maybe hitting some more runs, and seeing just how far this new stamina can stretch.

Right now, though? I’m just soaking up the small victory. The weight’s down, the engine’s humming, and the horizon’s lookin’ pretty sweet.

🏝️ Fitness Log — Chapter 10: The Monday Ritual + Upper Body Grind

Weight’s up a couple pounds this morning — maybe the blue corn tortilla chips from yesterday’s lunch, maybe not. Cravings hit, and I answered with crunch. Dinner stayed true to the Monday ritual: three sliders wrapped in lettuce instead of buns, and roasted cauliflower taking the place of fries. Not exactly a five-star plate, but it gets the job done and keeps the nutrients flowing. I’ll try to snap a pic next week — just don’t expect it to win any beauty contests.

This morning’s workout was a combo of iron and intervals, keeping the volume just right — enough to stimulate but not annihilate. I’m not chasing mass right now, just trying to hold onto and tighten up what I’ve got while I finish out this cut. Might build things up a bit more after that.

Workout – Upper Body + HIIT Cardio

  • Counter-weighted Dips/Pullups:
    • 13 reps x 2 sets @ 105 lbs counterweight
    • 8 reps x 2 sets @ 60 lbs counterweight
  • Lying Supine Press:
    • 10, 8 reps @ 90s–115s
  • Pec Deck (5-Count Eccentric):
    • 12, 10 reps @ 100 lbs
  • Seated Shoulder Press (Machine):
    • 10, 8, 6 reps @ 75s, 80s, 85s
  • Rear Lateral Raises:
    • 12, 10 reps @ 27.5s
  • Seated Tricep Extensions:
    • 12, 10 reps @ 100, 110 lbs
  • HIIT Cycling – Apple Fitness+:
    • 45 minutes, high intensity
    • Apple Watch goal: Move ring closed (830 calories) before work

Right now it’s just about keeping steady and slim…

Man, I definitely felt the sweat — though I gotta admit, some of that might’ve been the humidity trying to wrestle me down. I’ve used PeakO2 and a few other cordyceps blends here and there, but you nailed it — this stuff leaves ‘em in the dust. I’ve run GW a few times too, and honestly, this is the closest I’ve come to that kind of performance boost from a natural stack. This morning’s ride had me bumpin’ up against my own mental limits just to push the resistance higher. It’s the real deal!

Just to add, the Mitoburn Gel is good too. It has a nice cooling effect when you first put it on. I'm not sure what it's doing but both me and the wife are keeping eyes on our midsections

Agreed here. We carry it over at strong along with a lot of other XPG gels to!

The sweating on Cordarine is unreal. I'm the lightest I've been in 5 years, probably 10% BF. I was sitting in a meeting the other day, air conditioned, and I was sweating 90 minutes after taking 2. I think that part hits me harder if I don't exercise after taking a dose. I've noticed a little more sweating in my workouts, but way more in every day life.

yeah i feel the way .. i dont sweat much .. well i dont run or do cardio lol
but usually on a 1.5hrs workout ill barely sweat at times .. and this def puts me in that mode where i feel like fat is burning off slowly

Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. It’s been downright swampy here in western North Carolina the past couple of months—feels like I’m walkin’ around with a light glaze of sweat most of the time. Honestly, I think I might be sweating more on my off days than when I actually work out. Tomorrow’s a rest day, so hey, guess we’ll see if that theory holds water!

Fitness Log – Chapter 10: Foggy Morning Fire

July 30, 2025
Weight: 226–227 lbs (still holding steady and trending down)

This morning started with a heavy fog rolling in—a quiet kind of hush over the world that made the gym feel a little farther away than usual. I had every intention of heading to the gym, but the universe had other plans. Just as I was getting ready, our little band of neighborhood kittens—who’ve recently taken to showing up like clockwork—came padding up for breakfast. Can’t say no to those faces, especially after the bond we’ve been building these past few weeks. So instead, I teamed up with the wife and made it a home session. We knocked out an Apple Fitness+ HIIT workout together, which fired things up nicely.

Then came the grinder: 25 EMOM rounds of kettlebell ABCs—two presses, two cleans, and three squats each minute, using a pair of 40-pound bells. That one tested the lungs and the legs, and endurance definitely felt stretched today. But hey, that’s the most EMOM ABCs I’ve done in one go, so we’re talking personal progress. Sweat flowed like a tropical storm.

Finished the morning with a 10-minute cooldown on the bike and still managed to crush the move goal before the workday even started. Energy's solid now, even if the gas tank felt a little short during the grind. Dinner last night probably helped—a low-carb meatloaf with broccoli that hit the spot without weighing me down. Pictures are included if you need some tasty motivation.

Fog might’ve rolled in, but the fire stayed lit!

Looks good! Can't beat some good meatloaf!

Chapter 12: Rest Day Reflections & Wing Night Promises

Today brought a welcome reprieve—an official rest day. The temperature finally dipped a touch, offering a break from the steam-bath conditions of the past few weeks. That said, I still noticed a few sudden bursts of sweat throughout the afternoon—short, rolling waves that made me wonder if something’s kicking in under the hood. Could be the supplements, could be the weather's leftover humidity hanging around like an uninvited guest. Hard to say.

No gym, no cardio, no heavy lifting—just letting the body take a breather. Nothing else stood out today, which isn’t a bad thing.

Tonight’s highlight: air fried wings. Planning to make it a bit of a ritual, if they come out right. I’ll try to remember to snag a photo before the plate gets cleaned.

Same where I'm at. I've been cooking in the midwest!

🏴‍☠️ Captain's Log – August 6

Weight:
Holding steady at 226–228 lbs
Calories: Slight course correction—daily burn goal lowered to support better recovery (down from 830) after shedding 17% of previous bodyweight.
Reason for Change: As the wife wisely pointed out, it might be time to shift focus toward rest and rebuild.

🏋️‍♂️ Workout: Strength + Sweat

Mood:
Focused and fired up
Sweat Factor: Like a sinner in church during a Southern heatwave
Strength Notes:
Didn’t expect this log to track new PR territory, but strength keeps climbing even on lower calories. Shoulders looking sharp in the gym mirrors—nice little boost to morale!

Workout Breakdown:
  • Lying Supine Press: 10, 8, 6 reps @ 90s–125s
  • Pec Deck (5-count eccentric): 12, 10 reps @ 108
  • Seated Shoulder Press (Machine): 10, 8, 6 reps @ 80s, 85s
  • Rear Lateral Raises: 12, 10, 6 reps @ 27.5s, 30s
  • Seated Tricep Extensions: 12, 10 reps @ 100, 110
  • Goblet Squats: 3 x 12 reps @ 75
  • Incline Walk: 20 min cooldown
🍽️ Nutrition & Life Aboard
  • Recent Meals: Low-carb spaghetti and broccoli with palm noodles—31C / 27F / 52P
  • Regret: Forgot to snap a food pic before diving in. Multiple times this week.
  • Sunday Indulgence: Family time, good food, and no guilt.
🌅 Reflections from the Deck

The scale’s been holding steady, and while part of me wishes it would dip a bit more, I’m reminded that staying the course—especially after a weekend of family indulgence—is still a win. Recovery might be the piece I’ve been missing, and tweaking the calorie burn goal feels like a smart move, not a setback.

Unexpectedly, strength gains are sneaking up on me. I’m watching the mirror catch glimpses of progress that the scale can’t measure. Shoulders are coming in nice, and there's a steady burn behind every rep that feels like forward motion.

My wife, she’s carrying so much more than dumbbells. Balancing work and caregiving for her disabled father while still trying to prioritize her own health? That’s strength of another kind entirely. This week wasn’t perfect for either of us, but we’re still showing up. Still choosing the better path, one small course correction at a time.

Here’s to progress, even when it’s quiet.

So to sum, increasing your cal allowance a bit, focusing on recovery/build a bit more, and you dropped Cordarine - so only MitoBurn now?

So to sum, increasing your cal allowance a bit, focusing on recovery/build a bit more, and you dropped Cordarine - so only MitoBurn now?
Sorry if that got twisted up. I’m tracking active calories burned with my watch and logging my intake in a nutrition app. I’d been shooting for 830 calories burned before heading to work on training days, but I’ve eased that down to 780 for a little extra recovery. Intake hasn’t changed.

Still running the Cardarine + Mitoburn Gel combo. Skipped this morning’s workout, but I’m still sweating like I’m on a southern pier in August straight off the top of my (bald) head. The thermogenesis with this stack is no joke! 🌞💦

📖 Captain’s Fitness Log
Date:
August 9–10, 2025

Weekend Rations:
Kept things pretty clean overall. Friday night was taco night (photos in the log for future smiles). Saturday night brought a little splurge — Thai food and some popcorn — but nothing that sent the ship off course. Made up for it Sunday with some weighted HIIT to burn off those extra carbs. This morning’s weigh-in: 228 lbs.

Saturday’s Training:
Feeling like I’ve caught a friendly current — strength keeps moving forward, even while cutting. It’s tough to stick to last week’s numbers without naturally pushing higher.
  • Dip machine: 8×2×60 lb cw, 6×45 cw, 4×30 cw
  • Machine Incline Press: 12, 10, 8 × 65s
  • V Press: 12, 10 × 35s, 40s; 6 × 45s
  • Side Lateral Raise: 11×2×35s, 7×40s, 4×45, then drop sets of 8 reps from 25s to 10s
  • Cable Push-downs: 12, 10 × 85
  • Cable Punches: 12, 12 × 35
  • Overhead Cable Tricep Extension: 12, 12 × 45
  • Leg Extension: 12 × 100; 8, 8 × 170; 6 × 190
Supplement Update:
Added Inhibit-E to the stack — big thanks to @sns8778 for tracking it down. Only three days in, but feeling a little more “alpha” and dropping some water weight.

Looking Ahead:
The horizon’s looking clear for dipping below 225 lbs — that long-awaited 50 lbs lost mark could be just days away.

Oh yeah — here’s a shot from Friday night’s lettuce tacos, followed by round two with meat, refried beans, and Quest chips. Told you not every meal’s a work of art, but it gets the macros where they need to be! 🌮⚓

🏝️ Fitness Log – August 12-13, 2025 🌅

Finally saw 225 lbs on the scale this morning! I’ve had my eye on for a long time. Sure, it came after a sweaty workout and a couple well-timed pit stops 🚽💨 (TMI maybe, but part of the truth). Still, it’s a solid win and I’m taking it.

The Cardarine + Mitoburn Gel combo is doing exactly what it promises: more sweat, better endurance, and a stronger push to the finish. Can’t justify it as a year-round expense, but it’s worth having on hand for at least half the year. And definitely when training for an event!

I have not asked the wife about her weight but she’s been steady at the oars this week, getting her workouts in. I’ve kept up the morning Mitoburn Gel application on her waist. It’s turned into a nice little daily ritual (yep, another TMI, but part of the story).

Workouts:
  • Yesterday:
    • 10 min weighted HIIT with the wife 🏋️‍♂️❤️
    • 25 EMOM rounds: 3 cleans, 3 front squats, 5 Yates rows (22kg)
    • 10 min on the bike to hit my updated calorie goal
  • Today:
    • 10 min Apple Fitness kickboxing 🥊
    • 25 EMOM rotation: 5 presses/arm, 8 incline pullovers (1 KB), 12 curls (both KBs), 13 overhead triceps (both KBs)
    • 20 min cycling 🚴‍♂️
Looking Ahead:
I’ll be traveling next Tuesday and probably won’t make the cleanest food choices, so I’m preparing for a little scale bounce. But for now, I’m celebrating the win and feeling motivated!

Speaking of food, nothing new to report from last night — just the usual low-carb meatloaf and broccoli, so no photos this time. But around the Jaelfric household, Mondays mean burger night. Those are 90/10 sliders on lettuce wraps with fat-free cheese and roasted cauliflower on the side. The cauliflower is a fairly decent substiture for tater tots. I spray some olive oil on it then a sprinkle of onion power and salt, cooked at 500 degrees for 30 minutes. The Mrs. went with one burger on a small gluten-free bun, since gluten doesn’t sit well with her (another reason we love @sns8778 and his products!), along with two more sliders and some sautéed onions.

Here’s a couple shots of my plate — not exactly Food Network material, but it’s getting the job done just fine.

What's not pictured are the pickled jalapenos, no sugar ketchup, and various mustards that we use as well!

Macros are 24C/23F/65P

we love roasted cauliflower. You should try it in the air fryer if you have one... gets nicely browned
Yeah, buddy! We’ve got one too, and I’ve done the same, 400° for about 35 minutes. But this was a whopper of a head, no way it was all fitting in there. My only gripe with the air fryer, could just be ours, is that since it tops out at 400°, the cauliflower never gets that golden, crunchy caramelization I’m after. That’s why I crank the ol’ conventional oven up to 500°. But I appreciate the tip!

View attachment 254263View attachment 254264
What's not pictured are the pickled jalapenos, no sugar ketchup, and various mustards that we use as well!

Looks like some clean eatting for sure!

Fitness Log – Chapter: The Slow Drift Downward

Not much new to report—holding steady around 226 lbs, with the occasional glimpse of 225. That’s been the rhythm of this journey: sit at a number for a couple weeks, then finally slide down a pound or two. Early on, that pattern was frustrating, but I’ve made peace with it. Progress is progress, even when it’s slow and steady.

The past couple weeks have been busier outside the gym, so I haven’t checked in much. Still, kettlebells and cycling have kept me moving at home. Made it back to the gym this past Saturday and managed to bump the weight up across multiple lifts.

Funny enough, I wasn’t expecting Cordarine to add much strength, but it seems to be giving me a little extra push. Halfway through this 3-month run, and I’m honestly impressed—it might even overtake Anabolic XT or Recomp20 as my favorite SNS/CEL product.

For now, just keeping the groove and letting the results come when they’re ready.

Holding the Line, Eyes on the Horizon

Been a stretch since the last entry — life’s been busy and the seas a little choppy. The truck’s transmission issues have kept me from the gym except for Saturdays, but I’ve stayed anchored with kettlebells at home and Apple Fitness sessions with my wife. The workouts aren’t stale, and I’m still chasing that burn.

The scale’s been steady in the 221–223 lb range, even with a few weekend slip-ups on the food front. Nothing disastrous — just the tide rising and falling. With three weeks until the beach, I’ve got my sights on trimming down into the 218–220 lb range, and I believe that’s well within reach.

This stretch has been more about consistency than perfection — holding onto what I’ve built and staying the course, even when the dock’s under repair. The iron’s still swinging, the sweat’s still flowing, and the horizon’s looking bright.

Looking back at the goals I set in that first post, I’m right where I hoped to be. Sure, it’s been frustrating hovering in the same 2–4 lb range for a couple of weeks, but I keep reminding myself this is a slow and steady voyage, not a sprint. The finish line isn’t in sight just yet, but I’m feeling solid about the progress so far, especially considering a few nutritional slip-ups along the way. Hard to believe that I'm at my lowest weight in almost 6 years!

Final Entry Before Vacation

Hey everyone, just wanted to wrap up this stretch of my fitness log and say thanks for sticking around through all my scattered updates. Hit 218.6 lbs this morning, might even see 217 by Friday if things go right.

Got a few chores to take care of before heading out on vacation Saturday—oil change, a couple errands—so today’s probably my last chance to get this written out.

Cordarine has easily become one of my favorite additions. The endurance boost is real. I can go longer and stay stronger without feeling gassed. The Mitoburn gel has been a great complement too. Only downside? A lot of sweat. Between the muggy southern air and this combo, I’ve been sweating for hours after workouts lately.

No big changes in appetite, but endurance and recovery have both improved, and the scale backs it up. Feeling good about where things stand heading into some much-needed downtime! I'll get a single post review up in the reviews section before too long

—Jaelfric

PS: Mrs. Jaelfric stopped using Mitoburn gel after a few weeks due to the excessive sweating factor. So lucky for me I still have plenty to help keep the holiday weight at bay!

The winter months are always the hardest for me when it comes to keeping the weight at maintenance! Too much good food and my mind knowing that it's winter and I'm not gunna be out by the pool.
