GP’s Old Man With A Plan Log

I’m so sorry for your loss! It’s beautiful to hear she was so positive and strong despite such an awful disease - even in her suffering, it’s obvious she wanted to make her care easier for you. That is a mother’s true love right to the end, and you will always have that part of her with you forever.

May she rest in peace now, and your family find peace in the coming time! Mothers truly are the blessing that makes our world work.

Thank you Hyde for the kind words, and you are so right. She really didn’t want to be a burden to me and my wife. When my wife had surgery in November, my Mom told me tell her if I could come to the hospital and stay with her I would, and if she needs anything and I mean anything to let me know. When I went back and told my wife, she was touched so much she started crying and said that touched her more than all the get well cards and flowers family and friends had sent her. And I agree Mothers and their love really are the blessing that helps make the world work.😍

Hey Brother, just saw the update and I'm really sorry about your mom and I'm so happy her pain is over. I'm at a loss of words for your pain and the gut punch you guys have, but I recognize the mixed emotions knowing she isn't suffering anymore.

I'm praying for you and your family, brother. ...And I am Happy for her, that she is no longer suffering.

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

... I miss my own Mom, tremendously.
:-)
❤️ this.

Thank you brother…..yeah we have that peace knowing she is in Heaven and no longer suffering.

Man, I just found this and hate to hear this news. Hoping you and the family can find peace in this time of loss. Sounds like she set a great example for you to follow. Sorry for your loss!

Your dog was beautiful, I almost got an Akita, such beautiful dogs. The female is very pretty too.

Thanks Kleen, I really appreciate that….and glad you found me.😎👍

This is the hardest and saddest Mother’s Day for me, my wife, family, and friends. My Mother passed away yesterday after a long hard fought battle with cancer. She was 89 and the best Mom I could have ever had. She was strong all the way to the end, but thankfully she is no longer suffering to that horrible disease.
In 2018 I built her an apartment in our detached garage and moved her in, she called it her bungalow. In 2023 she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, and lived a year and half longer, with no chemo, because of her age, and only a little radiation to try and slow the growth of the tumor. The Doctors were amazed. When she was diagnosed in November of 2023 I moved her into the main house with us. Even through all the pain and suffering she always was sweet and loving and kept a positive attitude. My awesome wife helped me take care of her. She was completely bed ridden the last 4 months. But we now take comfort knowing she is in Heaven and suffering no more.😢
Be sure to always show your Moms love and appreciation, and always make them feel special. And be sure to show the Mother of your children, or the Woman that steps in to be a Mother to your children, the love and appreciation they deserve.
Thank you guys for your thoughts and prayers, and I truly do wish all the Mothers a Happy Mother’s Day, they are all heroes.😍
Sorry for your loss brother 😞

Oh and Test 150 a week TRT… getting tempted to get some HGH and do 2 IU a day for the healing and repair, after all the talk on it lately and Hyde and Smont are running it, so I caught the fever.😜

It was great, your support and understanding, I'm sure she appreciated beyond what she expressed..
Fighting C,two actually..I know know what it's like from her perspective..
I wanted you to know, it takes a lot..caring for a loved one, knowing it's a loosing Battle..
AND
The Dog...sorry yet again..
That's the One that nearly ripped me apart from inside..
December 2,2024..I put My Shadow down..
Gabriel is gone..!!

Sounds like Brother...you've had a difficult Time, at best..
Looking at the numbers..nice..!!

I hope you find Peace with everything..
I'm currently loosing my Battle..
It's all-good..

Always amazed at how some older Vets..can stand toe to toe with the Younger,Faster and Stronger Guys..
Great Job..!!

I appreciate that brother…..sorry for the loss of your Shadow, and your battle with cancer. Keep fighting brother….I’ll keep you in my prayers.🙏

I took the weekend off GH to stretch it out a tad longer, but I only had 2 bottles left to begin with! Wish I had a whole bunch lol, but these 10 shots will still help with the healing process, no doubt.

You will have to let us know how the MPC works out; I don’t know anything about it. Zero complaints with using BASIS myself though; things have been going great and just started my second bottle of it.

You have a great stack going!

I should mention too though, at your age I would NOT use HGH if cancer runs in your family at all. It doesn’t cause it, but if you ever had any in your body using GH turbocharges the spread.

Oh wow, that’s good to know. I didn’t think about that. 👍

This is an ever growing Problem..
Most guys Don't do proper Bloodwork, sadly..
Moreover, Don't get checked out BEFORE HGH..I'm sure there's guys running Growth with hidden issues..
Last thing anyone wants, is to cut yrs of the back end..
What makes it truly sad, there's so many things we have contact with that causes C..
Black plastic is a huge one..sugar..processed foods with 1000 ingredients..

I forgot about that. on the flip side, the autophagy aspect of longer fasting I think is considered potentially cancer fighting IIRC?

Correct: endogenous GH levels are not an issue, even in extended fasting. Our GH also begins to lower a lot as we age, declining significantly even just in our 30s. Growth hormone does not cause cancer, at all. It’s not the problem.

BUT the issue arises when someone already has cancer actively who takes exogenous amounts. My dad had Hodgkin’s in his 50s then again around 70. I will not be using GH when I’m older. I don’t even basally use it now, only acutely for injury recovery.

Yep, this is an issue for sure. My old coach told me that he was pretty stoked when they said that IFG does not do the same thing so possibly something to look into at an older age. Not sure it will do much for joint health, maybe, maybe not but at least there is another option post HGH.

Added the DB McLeod Flys into my warmup routine on the recommendation of @SkRaw85 and man I love the way they loosened up my bad shoulder and really got it activated and firing on all cylinders. Usually those first couple sets of bench, even though they are light and I’ve already done warmups, causes pain. Today though after the McLeod flys, no pain, and no doubt I could have went heavier, but still trying not to push it and just progress slowly, but man I highly recommend those.😎👍

are you seriously logging this **** at 1am??? 😂 😂

Hey, when you get my age you figure you don’t have enough time to sleep, you might miss something.😂
Seriously though, I usually go to sleep around 8:00-10:00, wake up between 12:00-1:00, and go back to sleep around 2:00 and wake up at 6:00 for work. Kind of how my body works now.😎🤘

They used to be my excuse for going out drinking every night because I felt like if I stayed home I was going to miss something lol

My former father in law is STILL a night owl and he's in his 70s, born in '49. I think he's still the same young man at nearly 80 as he was in Vietnam!

ahahaha yeah and now days that thing I don't want to miss out on is my beauty sleep 😂 😂

They are sweeeeeet! Cant argue the effectiveness either, like I said on days when it’s a struggle just to get the bar to touch, these open everything up quick

Oh yeah, they will always be in my warmups for chest and shoulders from here on out. Ha, at my age you hold on to anything that will loosen you up to be able to lift.😎💪

this was actually a really natural sleep-wake cycle for humans for the majority of history, I think it was because of the industrial revolution and electricity that sleep started getting compressed so that we could work more throughout the night, or something along those lines... Don't quote me.

Sorry I nerded out there, really like history lol.

Yeah it’s just kind of what my body puts me through now. If I can accomplish 6 - 8 hours total then I feel pretty good about it. But I do wake up like clockwork.

Really good bicep pump today…..wanted to keep going, but had to go pick up my teenage grandson from school. He was making up work from days he had missed after his Granny (Great Grandmother) passed away. He didn’t seem to mind waiting on me, because when I pulled up he was talking to a hot little blonde that gave him a big hug before he got in my truck. He acted like he was already in love, when she came up to the truck and told him maybe they could hang out sometime. He was nervous so I gave her my number to give her Dad to call me, and told her my wife and I could take them to see the new Mission Impossible movie this weekend, if it was ok with her parents. She got all excited and said that would be great and then gave him a big ole kiss on the cheek. He was like man Paw Paw I can’t believe you did that…. I was like, what I got you a date didn’t I. Of course that’s all he could talk about when we got home.😎👍

I feel like there has so to be something with maturity here too. I used to think my folks were crazy how early they get up 'naturally' and now days I notice my wife and I do the same thing. every couple years my "sleep in" on a Saturday is closer to what "early" used to be lol. I'm at a point where I don't like the discomfort of staying up late.

I am going to have to check out those McLeod Flies as a warm up. Any specific video either one of you would recommend for an example?

Also, well done on getting the boy a date!

This video is short, but shows the mechanics of them perfect. They really are great to add into your warmup routine for any chest and shoulders work. 😎👍

Oh yeah that looks nice, good internal rotation work while stretching the pecs, and external rotation ROM.

Had a great weekend. Saturday we had the memorial service for my Mom. All my sons were able to be there, including my youngest who is in the Army, their wives, our Grandchildren and my remaining Sisters and Brothers that are still living, friends, and other family members. It was a really great service, that I feel honored my Mom tremendously. A few of us got to share some stories of how she touched each of our lives, and it really turned into more of a celebration and reunion afterwards. I know she was looking down on all of us she loved and was smiling.😍
On Sunday evening my wife and I were able to take our oldest Grandson and his new little girlfriend to Olive Garden and then to see the new Mission Impossible. It was their official first date, and of course we let them sit by themselves. It definitely worked out good for him, and he got to walk her to the door and got a kiss.😎👍 I actually really hit it off with her Dad, and he called me yesterday to invite us to an Atlanta Braves game in a couple of weeks, his treat. He seems like a really good guy, and he said his little girl hasn’t quit talking about our Grandson and how cool his Grandparents are. Ha, I guess if we are cool to a 16 year old girl then we must have showed her a good time. Oh, and of course the boy is in love, which is understandable because she is gorgeous with a personality to match. So he got the girl, and my wife and I made us some new friends.😎👍

Another nice pump, and had energy to spare. Came home and went bike riding, on the trail around the college and by the waterfalls, near our house with my Grandson. We were going to ride the back way to my house, but he wanted to go back by the college. Ha, I’m sure it didn’t have anything to do with all the young college girls running around in yoga pants and booty shorts. We got about 7 miles in….it’s really a nice area, and the whole loop is 14 miles. May take him up there Saturday morning before we do yard work.😎👍

Good to see everything firing efficiently and pain free! Also, yes those college campuses are cameltoe conventions these days! That boy will gladly run!

I never used to be particularly attracted to camel toe when I was younger, but either age or androgens has made me appreciate it so much more in recent years.

Maybe there just wasn’t the exposure in previous decades, but now it’s so common in gym & youth culture you see it all the time.
