Classic Kleen - The Road To Competition Fall 2024

Yeah both of those guys from Nationals would be great competition, but the winner of the Jackson from last year wouldn’t stand a chance. I’m very excited to see how you look on stage and how things turn out - it will be great to hear your thoughts on the experiences afterwards.
 
Except then Pat would actually expect me to get on stage, and I just don’t see that in my future.
I think if you told him you wanted to get huge then do a massive cut it would be about the same as long as you told him how conditioned you wanted to be.
Patrick was looking for an assistant coach a few weeks back, did you ask him about that? Seems like something you’d slot in well for given your experience.
Hmmm, I wonder if that was after he and I talked about if he had anyone who helps him with his client load since he has a lot right now.

Yeah, that is how I feel too. I can see where they could beat me in a couple areas and vice versa.
 
Hoping Coach stays of the same mindset and we get to add some carbs back in today. It would be so glorious to get some calories in. I remember once we started refeeding how much better I felt after that first high calorie meal. Hoping he sees what he wants to see in this morning's pictures.
 
Having never been a competitor on stage but sharing an unhealthy love for beefy men in posing trunks, I have to concur with others that I see huge strengths in where you are today. I've always felt your arms are a massive benefit, your conditioning is on fire, but I still think your legs are a massive standout for you. A lifetime of hardwork is really showing through on what you've built!

Yes Sir, not only because this deep of calorie cut would less likely be needed, but the fact I do still have a little more fat to lose to achieve my best look possible. I know how lean I can get, and if I was there with all this new muscle, I would be pretty confident I was going pro. However, we can probably replicate the look of that conditioning from here with the water cut, refeed until spilling over then dropping in the diazyde for nationals. Plus I may just lose that 1-2 lbs over the course of the week since we aren't going to go crazy loading me for this show. Just a moderate and safe load not to mess up my depletion for nationals. I don't even think we will be doing much carbing up for the night show if at all. Everything is really judged in the morning at prejudging so that is where I need to look my best.
Thank you Sir! I would put me around 7ish% front, legs, arms looking 5ish%, and back looking about 9% to me, but it is watery. With one more week, the water cut and everything I think I have a really good shot at going pro. Top 3 in Masters Overall gets the pro card at this show it is a big one.

This guy won the 50-59 last year at the Johnnie O Jackson for this weekend. I know for sure I could beat this guy the way he looks. Get a little glycogen in me from here and he would be toast. Not trying to sound cocky, just what I believe. Honestly, just me as I woke up this morning IMHO.

Ya, that guy looks about how the guy who won the show my buddy did. I saw the lineup for his show and you about 6 weeks ago were already bigger and leaner then that lineup. Your gonna do good, I just hope the coach doesn't make you do anything too crazy because your already pretty on point. I really think it's a matter of weather he sends you in smaller and drier or bigger and fuller. You can only carb up with fluids. I always see horror stories about trying to carb load while cutting water. I'm assuming hes gonna cut water first and then load you the last day or 2?

That's so gay, why do we watch bodybuilding lol. In your defense, I'm very much looking forward to seeing mr kleen oiled up in his underwear on show day. No homo 😁🤔🤣.

My niece comes over one day while I'm watching some of the lead up to the olympia stuff last year. All I hear is Auntie, why's uncle watching a bunch of muscle guys in there underwear lol. She says "your weird uncle" I said you know what, it is kinda weird lol.

I know il never look like those guys, but I like to find Physics with similar structures to mine so I can at least have an idea of what direction I want to go in.

In this pose my structure looks very similar, my arms, delts and hams look similar to yours in this pose. Your quads are much more developed then mine but the structure is just like how mine were I'm my late 20's before all the injuries. Your legs in your 50's still look better then mine did in my 20's. If you dont mind can I see your offseason leg routine?

Yeah, we already ran through peaking once, and have an excellent road map not only for4 the first peak Wednesday, but Thursday also. We are just adding in some fats and carbs for the show this weekend because we don't want to mess up the peak for nationals. Just loading up a bit. I will still be on 1.5 gallons a day then. No water manipulation unless he tells me to finish my water intake earlier tomorrow and pull in the evening.

Thanks! Yeah, it has changed a little bit throughout the year due to things I can and can't do but I will pull the one I did most of the year and send it to you when I have a chance.
 
Holy Bat Man's Balls Boys!

I haven't seen pictures of me with a pump and any food in me in so long it is ridiculous. Well these pictures post chest and biceps workout are fugging spectacular! I am full of water here from 3/4 gallon in the last 2 hours so a little thicker waisted.
But Damn it,
I look HUGE!

What is crazy is I am super depleted in this pics, no loading today. Coach decided we were holding off and doing a little smaller load for this show to ensure a better load next week.

Also, I am no longer worried about my back tightening up. I hit autocorrect on the photo editor on my phone because there was a reflection from a light that completely threw off the lighting. It lightened up my body and boom!!! When I did the level of detail in my back in my RDB was jaw dropping compared to what I expected to see!

My thickness in the side chest is is nasty too! Chest finally has that gorilla pecs look, and damn those arms are looking thick!!!!

I also decided instead of a vacuum in this Classic style abs and biceps shot I was going to tighten my abs a bit and show a little more abs since my vacuum isn't stellar and the loose skin pools a little and smooths me over when I do it. Thoughts? Preferences?

I changed the hand position on the Most Muscular from where my posing coach had me doing it so low.
I feel like this offers all these benefits.


It shows my lats way better
Increases my width
Pops my shoulder caps more
Makes my triceps look bigger from the front
It helps with flexing the pecs
It covers my loose skin.

I think it looks much better this way what do you all think?

Glutes are coming in, if this skin was tighter they would already be decent. The water cut will likely help that.

I like the posing changes; first thing I thought before reading yours was the extra lat exposure and delt width. It just works better for your physique, as far as being a more impressive display.

These look great and I really dig the shot you chose for your new avatar; that’s a keeper.

Also, I hate vacuums, so I much prefer the flexed abs. I feel like a vacuum is just a circus trick that hides the abs to make you focus on a smaller waistline, instead of actually displaying the muscle built prominently. Abs are a muscle too, the sign of a powerful lifter. Vacuums look like all show, no go to me.

Only two thoughts on posing tweaks:

1. Still recommend you bring your arms more level on your front double bi, as you'll get a little more lat flare if you don't go above parallel.
2. On your front lat spread it looks like your sticking your backside out, which might be pitching you forward a little too much. It is good to remember that judges will be seated at an angle below you, but probably don't want to overcompensate too much.

MAN, IT WAS ROUGH!!!

Lost my wallet and didn't find it until about 3:00 which sent me into a panic because I needed to fly Monday. Was flat and ended up watery before the show from the cortisol. It was a lot of work and they the in a 30 second free posing routine. Then for my main routine the so g didn't upload when I uploaded it so I had to pose to a random song.

I thought explained all of that in the post above that one with the pics. I got first in my class but I was also the only one in it. I looked pretty good at finals but was a bit flat and holding water due to the stress at prejudging, but still looked good. The pics are from the show isn't one of them me with my medal?

So they all show for you? All it shows me is the last shot I posted. Strange...

Yeah , I also only see the one photo from the bulk upload and it's the side chest shot. But will agree with others, first you did a heck of a job getting prepped and ready for this show! Phenomenal transformation. And even if you were the only one in your class, that doesn't take away the hard work and dedication you put in. No one can take that from you, and many wouldn't even be willing to try or start this process. Congratulations!

Oh, and standing on stage with a legend like Johnnie with a medal around your neck? That had to be pretty awesome.

Thanks @Hyde. Yeah, I can see the water too but like you said, I had plenty of detail in several of the pictures. I had to be around 198-200 on stage with the water load. I woke up the next morning at 195 on the dot after pissing all day and night.

Here I am wide awake probably nervous energy from the flight, and North American Championships. Had my last meal, and if I still can't sleep soon I will finish the last bit of packing. I will leave here at about noon for a 2:00PM flight. I am getting up at 6:00 to send the wife off to work with some love and a package. She is going to overnight my research chems to me after I take them in the morning. Then I will head off to the gym for a Chest and shoulder pump session. Between my back, and cardio session I went hypo doing cardio and had to call it at just over 45 minutes. Was just too dizzy to keep going safely and somehow my jolly ranchers I have for those occasions in my bag were gone.

Let me know which ones you all like most if you don't mind taking the time to help out. I already spent a lot of time figuring out these which were my favorites out of tons of them.

Back double bi, and most muscular are your best poses IMO. And I like for the creative side, the angled shot the photographer took where you have one arm behind your head and one in biceps pose.

I really liked the rear double bi as well. My next favorite is his side chest, and the most musculars here are my third - all of those show a great level of size and detail!

I also liked all the shots with the medal, as far as if you’re making a bigger frame with a handful of photos in it @MrKleen73. My wife did that from some professional photos she had purchased from this recent Arnold - there’s probably ~10 photos printed at various sizes arranged in a bigger display and framed. It looks great in the den by her trophies.

My wife has heard me talk too much about it, even this weekend as I was giving her your updates and I was breaking down when you started, when you comitted, your peak calories you logged, and when you switched to cutting. it's been an awesome story to watch unfold. I'm still a bit flabbergasted by the speed of the homestretch, from April to now has been a crazy impressive cut!

It's hard to ignore the badonkadonk here but I love this image because to me this is quintessential bodybuilder. While unflexed, I still say your arms, pecs, delts, and traps look dynamite here. this is a GREAT pic:

This is another favorite of mine because bodybuilding is still bodybuilding right? to me this captures old school Arnold at Venice beach. I love this pose and it captures more quad definition then the next one under it. abs and everything looks chissled:

Awesome! Thanks to everyone who has given feedback some great pics to choose from. I am having my post workout meal just protein, but getting it in. I did at 30 minute chest and biceps pump session then 30 minutes of cardio. I got in about 9 sets of chest and 5 sets of biceps. Once done eating, I am getting the last of my things together and heading to the airport around noon, if the flight isn't delayed again. Having some intermittent but very heavy rain, and it has already been delayed by 30 minutes.
 
Man your physique reminds me so much of Don Youngblood, like if he were trimmed down for Classic instead of competing open at 245 at 5’9” as a Master! RIP

Without being there, but going off both looks and general practice for the timeframe and level, I’d definitely bet there’s site enhancement going on.
