I'm so oblivious these days I didn't even realize COVID was still a thing for the most part. I assume you have the 💉 💉? Sometimes I wonder if that thing is almost causing people to be more susceptible or if it's my general inclination to prefer a life of solitude and hermitry that keeps me from coming in contact with it.


Your lifting sessions are looking juicy again! Looks like you are moving pretty good weights for being post surgery. How is it all feeling??

How was Vietnam? It's a bucket list place for me. A ton of our employees are from there and the beaches look amazing.

Thanks brother! I seem to get Covid more often than not when I fly these days. Maybe my immunity is down. But it’s only my third time.

Vietnam was amazing, thought oppressively hot this time of year. Food, coffee, massages, hiking in forest and beaches were particularly awesome. Everything is absurdly cheap once you get there! Glad to share my itinerary and pics with you offline if you’re serious about going.

Left shoulder (surgical one) bothering me, so taking it easy today …

AM Sesh:

DB Bench: 30x12, 40x10, 50x10, 60x10, 60x10

Incline DB Bench: 35x12, 45x10, 50x10

Tricep Extension s/s Pushdowns: 35x12, 40x10, 45x10

PM Sesh:

T-bar Rows: 4 sets

Lat Pulldowns: 3 sets

Hyperextensions: 3 sets

Incline DB Curls: 4x10

8/24:

Saw ortho surgeon this week. Said to chill on flat bench, including dumbbells, and to favor incline DB press, so that’s what I’m gonna do for now.

Shoulder PT stuff

Incline DB Press: 25x15, 35x15, 45x12, 50x10, 60x10, 70x8, 50x10

Tricep Extension s/s Pushdowns: 35x12, 40x10, 45x10

8/26:

Hex DL: 150x10, 200x8, 250x5, 300x5, 330x3, 350x3 (first time above 300 lbs this year since shoulder surgery; decided to go a little heavier vs 315x10)

Seated Rows: 110x12, 130x10, 150x8

Hyperextensions: +20x20, +30x18, +35x15

It’s time to start putting in a little more work vs. 2 short sessions per week!

I'm very very serious but I know it's likely 18+ months out. we committed to a Costa Rica trip next winter so that will tie up the travel $$ and PTO for a little while lol

I always find that so interesting that so many guys seem to handle incline better, I feel like I'm the exact opposite. it took me like a year of light weight practice to be able to hit incline with any kind of weight without irritation/pain and its still over proportionately lower than my bench.

I hear you on incline. I’m the opposite bc, ironically, my shoulders are a lot stronger than my puny chest.

Looking back to last year, I don’t think I look all that different despite being 6 months post that awful shoulder surgery, so I suppose I should count my blessings. But I’m hairier than ever thanks to oral minoxidil, to combat male patterned baldness.

I could stand to lose a few pounds. Would like to get back to 170 lbs (from 180).

Will post my workouts later. Finally squatted on the SSB bar, though super light.

Hope everyone here is doing fantastically! Things are going pretty well. Shoulder feeling pretty good. DB bench is coming along, just doing incline for now, ready to move up to 80x10. Hex DLs going pretty well — ready to move up to 370/375 lbs for a triple. SSB squats are moving up slowly, almost to 200 lbs, lol. Just started these for first time this month. Still a little gun-shy since tearing myofascial tissue at left quad a few years back. Fucking hurt!!! Def growing despite the piddly weight! Thank god for muscle memory!

Need to start training some during the week, without my wife, who can only train Sat-Mon. Been doing the bare minimum with little accessory work.

Posting a progress pic from a few weeks ago. Next one will be whole body now that my legs have a little girth back, lol.

Glad you are doing well in here! I'm with Hyde on the Weds session.
I'm mostly doing a 3 on, 1 off right now. so I love my weekend training sessions, it really feels like it sets up mon-fri for success regardless of what comes.
