I get down on the wings lol. Probably 3 times a week plus I make them at home with a pickle dry rub at least once.
Pickle dry rub eh? Interest peaked.... Not sure how I feel about it but would love to try one.
 
This is from trader Joe's, basically just dehydrated vinegar, dill, garlic, and a pinch of sugar. I don't like the sugar.
Yeah forget the sugar, I am not a fan of sweet pickles. It frustrates me that almost all of the hot / spicy pickles are candied or sweetened. That being said the Famous Daves Devil's Spit Pickle Chips are pretty fire even though they are sweet.

Oof! The last week has been a nut kicker! 72 hours between programming and brewing last week, not to mention repairs and fun crap. Every single one one of the kegs was hand filled and carried/stacked in this damn walk in. My traps were SCREAMING and my grip was getting rough. Wasn't just one day thankfully.

This last brew day, I ran out of containers that fit between these tanks. I had to fill up that damn white container, haul it over, and dump it. Started out as 1500lb of dry grains.

Couple all that with something breaking daily, negligence from the previous owner, it's been a mess. I'm slowly rolling back my wakeup time to make actual gym time, but damn have I been working my ass off physically here and at my software dev job.

Massive shoutouts to carnitine TD, joint stuff and PEA relief, as well as Alpha Gel. Definitely leaning out from this, can't put enough food in my stomach and am walking 17k steps when I'm at the brewery.

Little update,

Got in a pretty ok OHP and shoulder day yesterday with axle rows thrown in. I'm having a gnarly carpal tunnel flare up in my left hand thats's kind of ruining life at the moment.

The brewery is damn near close to being caught up with inventory and production scheduling, looking forward to being able to schedule outside life around that and my main software engineer job. My main job placed me in charge of a new project with some new clients, I'm apparently the only one in the company that uses python. Had my first meeting with them yesterday, their programmer is absolutely gorgeous, I'm not entirely sure what she was talking about but she sure made it look good.

Found out last night my darling mother made a 3rd attempt on her life, so I'm going to get in for deadlifts today and work out some things, carefully. Been one hell of a year dudes. (She's fine, she's in a facility and totally coherent)
 
Hate to hear about your Mother, but sounds like some of the other stuff is going well. Have to take the wins where you can when you can. Hopefully your mothers situation improves.

Got my deadlifts up to 455 today with the DL bar, surprised myself considering it's probably been 2 months since I've done them, even more so seeing I'm weighing in at 197 these days. Felt great though and like it was something I was missing lol.

Haven't trained since my last recorded here, which sucks, but obviously I've had a lot of **** blow up very quickly. The mom situation may have objectively improved, but still weighs very, very heavily on me, basically the whole family has cut her off and I have to follow suit.
I'm using the rest of this week to sort through life, got the divorce papers in finally (NC has weird separation laws), and started redecorating and getting some of my crap out of storage. Training my body to get up earlier and earlier the last few weeks to make time to train, when the separation started I said screw it and started sleeping 10+ hours when my body does very well with 6-7, need to get back to that.

Until you are getting up early enough to get to the gym, just get in the habit of doing 100 each pushups and air squats in the morning. Or taking a walk in that time - get in the habit of making the first thing in the morning your time for wellness.

Little things become big things.
 
habits! literally the word I've been texting my wife in regards to me working on increasing cardio "I have to build the habit"

Oh for sure, I'm at the brewery for at least an hour every single day, I filled a half barrel (big keg) to 150lb and press it every time I walk by lol.

I have some SNS stacks from the 4th of July sale I can't wait to dive into, this time using the brain stack has been wonderful, combined with a lack of drinking (even working at a brewery) and haven't really even been smoking much bud. Too damn busy! But when I'm rested up, been feeling amazing.
I'm currently at 195lb, so maybe setting myself up for a "lean bulk" since I wanted to be competing around that weight anyways.

Same here. I'm not even a beer drinker tbh. It bloats me up miserably but there are times when a beer just seems like the right ticket (like a hot yard work day). Glad my wife has been keeping good inventory on sparkling waters lately lol

Exactly what happened lol. Some big sql script I wrote for new permissions and roles had been superceded by something else. I'm actually thankful I caught it before **** hit the fan lol

Ahh yeah I just looked was July 3rd. Will keep my eyes open and snag a bag when I see it. Usually Kirkland is pretty good stuff.

DPS Nutrition has some pretty good deals on protein. Don’t just base it on price per pound but how many servings in said container.

DPS has some great prices on 10lb bags of powders. Mutant Mass is a good gainer powder if you’re looking to pump some extra calories around training.

I just got a 10lb bag of Syntha6 the other week off Amazon for like $75 shipped. At 190 calories per serving it’s a good middle ground for gaining.

It tastes exactly the same as it did all those years ago; it’s one of the few powders that hasn’t changed over the years.

I think it sells so well for them they made the Syntha6 Edge for people who wanted a real just protein powder without all the extra fat and carbs, but it tastes like butt. Syntha6 is awesome because it’s basically a baby gainer powder I’ve been using it as an MRP since it had MCT powder and fiber and I seem to digest it quite well over and over.

Finally set my phone to mute and turned off ALL notifications on it after getting too many texts, FB messages, etc from people at 1am letting me know they broke the Assault bike, or their kid spilled sticky **** all over the floor or the toilet paper wasn't soft enough. I basically haven't taken my phone off mute since then.

I'm going through an existential protein crisis myself. I have not t ried the Kirkland yet but picked up this Ghost stuff for $23. it's now $44+

I went back and looked at the peanut brittle Kleen referrenced, but realized it's carb content is higher than I'm looking for.

The Core Post is a very intentional postWO recovery product, not just a protein powder. I mean you could also drink it immediately pre or intra, but periWO is the only time HBCD makes any sense. Even on super clearance that stuff was $1/serving.

Any other time of day, you’d use a cheaper carb source if you did want more carbs.

yeah the price/serving is crazy enticing. my step daughter was asking about a cheap protein powder so they could just up their intake and I was like, honestly just get chicken breast any time it's on sale at freddies. $1.90/lb works out to a better price generally than protein powder does. But a good quality protein powder is great in a pinch and I love my straight up 40gs of high protein/lowcarb/lowfat before bed. I mix that up with a little powdered PB and keep it sorta thick in the bowl as a night time snack right now. to me, it's honestly equal to having a bowl of ice cream at night in terms of satisfaction.

I have some others that are more balanced out almost 1:1 cho / pro but for me I see them in different use cases. the stuff I'm really wanting to spoil my cabinet space with is those straight up pure protein for evening snacks more than anything.

Try putting your pudding in the freezer for 20 minutes before you eat it
