My first thought is forearms (stretching). I agree with you, I think cleans/clean and press would be my choice too even though bench has become a major favorite for me.For some reason ive seem to have lost wrist mobility and cleans of any variation have become a pain. I can still move a fair amount of weight for a rep or two. But i miss the mid range weights for sets of 6-10. They were fantastic conditioning and explosive power moves. The clean and press is probably the one exercise I would pick if I could only do one exercise for the rest of my life.
Anyone know good wrist mobility stuff?
Have you tried cleans with wrist wraps on? I wear mine for basically everything these days.
Sometimes a wide grip on cleans helps gets into a more comfortable front rack position for thicker guys with less mobility too.
