Classic Kleen - The Road To Competition Fall 2024

sending good thoughts man, it's crazy that when we are all sick and fevered etc I don't think twice, but you mention plantar issues and i get ptsd. I hope it heals up fast for you!
Thanks, yeah it sucks, I rolled my feet last night and it is a little better now. We will see how it holds up throughout the day.

Glad you were able to shake it off and get back to some solid training. I need to try my db rear Delt Flyes on an incline bench like that.

I enjoy them, they hit the rears and medial pretty well out to the side, but if you want to isolate the rears more do them going back and out at about a 45 degree angle keeping your scaps out of it really lights the rears up directly.

I was able to do cardio yesterday so the foot recovered a good bit. I think I just inflamed the fascia a little bit and caught it before pushing it too far. Hopefully rack pulls don't bother it and go well tonight. I had a hard time getting to sleep last night for some reason. So, I opted to train this evening after work rather than push the day on about 4 hours of sleep.

Same. Been a while! Try palms down vs palms facing back.
In a Mike Van Wyck video he said to do it placing your hands all the way to the back of the dumbbell with thumbs extended on top of the handle pointing down to the floor, and elbows locked out really lights up the the rear delt. I tried it and it was a game changer for me. With the thumb extended it makes the far end of the DB hang down closer to the ground lengthening the lever with the weight farther from your body. This is when doing them with the back and out at about 45 degree method which is almost more of a swing than a raise, and not a grip and rip style rear delt fly. Think more like John Meadows Rear Delt Destroyer style.

Trying to picture palms down on these, previously I always did them in a neutral grip which is palms down in the top of the movement. Same thing?

I like to internally rotate humerus about 15deg from neutral through the movement. Might just be my weird shoulder mechanics but, with limited ROM and straight arms that little bit of internal rotation seems to make a big difference towards isolating the posterior head.

I think I do that too just subconsciously because that is how I feel it the most. That is one thing Wycked Training suggests is to do a couple test swings until you feel it fire right and then start working in that movement pattern.

Hey everyone, things are going well. I have just been busy with with work and haven't had a lot of time to post up. I will get my last few sessions posted up in here either later today or tomorrow some time. Weight took a jump from superbowl food, and hasn't dropped back off but looking pretty good with the weight. I was 218.8 this morning and looking large.

I got a major pain in my quad where a shot went wrong. Seems okay in the other leg so I don;t think it was the gear so much as possibly injecting into some connective tissue instead of muscle. Used the other leg today, was going to rotate back to this one but the swelling is just now going down and I don't want to inject anything while it is inflamed. My feet were still a bit sore this morning so I went lighter on Leg press and kept it to just a nice work volume but no pushing to extremes. Trying to shove this big ass meal down now. Oh yeah, been dealing with some possible blood sugar issues so going to go tonight to get some tester strips and start checking my resting blood glucose daily to make sure we aren't turning me into a diabetic with all these carbs and sugars. Starting to feel like my body is hitting a wall on this cycle. Honestly at this point I would be fine going into a cruise dose and doing maintenance a little bit before we jump into prep.

Kleen always gets the work in!
Sucks about the quad, hopefully it buffs out quick. You have convinced me to keep my virgin quads virgin though. I almost broke the seal the other day.

Sounds like the bulk is going as planned at 218 lbs. You might of just got a vein in your leg. Should be fine as long as you don’t see any redness or feel heat on it. Since you’re on a bulk I would throw a little Berberine in if your blood sugar is high.

They’re not bad with little pins and volumes - great in the rotation for daily/eod little shots.

Sounds like a solid idea of course.

LMAO, yes indeed there are.

Agreed, I usually don't have any issues with my quads, they are normally like butter. I have to say though, I was wrong, it was definitely an issue with the oils because my other leg is all f-ed up now. I am going to have to try another bottle because this one if a no-go. Anything you all think I can do to make it any better? It doesn't look crashed, it is a clear light yellow, no particles or anything floating in them. However it has me lit up, not just in the injection site, but further down the muscle. I did my shot in the upper left quadrant and the pain runs all the way down my vastus lateralis and into the outer teardrop. So my guess was crystallization or something. As bad as it hurts, I wouldn't be able to move my arm if it was my shoulder. So much fun!

If it doesn’t have crystals in it, it’s not crashed, so heating it won’t help.

If you have 2 different sites with significant reactions, you know it wasn’t a slip in your skin prep, so something has turned bacteria-wise in that vial and it’s trash.

That was my thought too. I told the wife it was going in the trash, just wanted to ask before I got rid of it.
Ugh, sorry kleen. Was it from a lab you’ve used before?
Same lab my masteron has been from this whole time which has been as smooth as butter. It is from advanced pharma.
What compound?
Test E 300mg/ml, only .5ml per shot but enough to make things brutal, contractions not sooo bad, but bending my leg / lengthening the quads is like brutal. The right leg is almost healed up but this one that traveled down into my teardrop area is new and unhappy. I do have 3-4 5ml bottles of Test E from my TRT here to switch to. However going to have to try another bottle of this stuff and hope it was just a one off on the bottle, and not the other 3 bottles of test e I got from them.

Was this brand new vial?

Because I have had a perfectly good vial that I have been using turn on me out of nowhere once - not opened particularly long or anything obvious as far as different storage or cleaning practices. It just somehow must have gotten contaminated, and suddenly my little cruise shots were causing reactions/infections. 2 shots in a row, you know it’s compromised.

I have used that lab without issue, fwiw.

Yeah it is a new vial, I think it was the first shot from it that caused pain but may have been the 2nd. I wasn't paying attention enough to remember if it was the first or second since I wasn't expecting pain. Either way, either I did something wrong or something went wrong with the seal or something. I still trust the lab from the experience up until now. Will try a new bottle after I finish the pharmacy one I just popped the top on.

I don't know what it is about quad injections. Normally it's smooth sailing, but sometimes it feels like I hit a nerve and get shooting pain and have to pull the needle out and hit a different spot or I get weird PIP or a knot. Never get this with ventro or glute though. Quads are so easy to hit but everytime I brace for possibly shock! Could just be the shot pissed off something. Maybe warm the vial in case it crashed and has small crystals then try a shot in VG to see if it has the same effect?

2/2 shots gave him bad site reactions. When the inflammation runs down like that, it’s not from hitting a nerve. That is just the sharp immediate pain/jolt like you described; it doesn’t last.

I wrote that sometimes I hit nerves or sometimes I get lumps and inflammation. My point is that quads are finicky. It is possible his vial is crashed but he can't really tell that's why I suggested warming it. I know the difference between hitting a nerve and getting pip.

I would certainly expect you to, so your comment kind of surprised me - I just didn’t understand your intent the way you worded things. Quads are indeed finnicky for me. I only do little slinpin shots there with short needles and towards the tops of my quads; this generally avoids nerves pretty well for me. No big volume shots or 1” needles generally.

Maybe you missed Kleen’s earlier comment I quoted above, where he said he doesn’t see any crystals. But that’s why I would be so leery of risking another shot - sounded like the contents looks normal.

Question for you folks who pin: Do you ever filter your vials? I used to work in a lab and we always would filter our cell culture media, etc. with a syringe filter to try and avoid bacteria contamination. So, you might benefit from running through a 0.2-0.5 micron filter.

Now granted, you aren't in a sterile hood / you'd need something sterile to filter it into, but just a thought.

They do sell sterile vials and filter needles, but I don’t do this. I keep a couple sterile vials around for cycles I’m using multiple oils, so I can mix a few weeks up at a time in it and make drawing faster with only one vial. You can obviously mix all of it ahead of time, but then you are locked into set ratios, which is almost never how you ideally want to increase dosage.

I have found the areas that work for me 95% of the time up to a couple of cc's with no issue, but this was definitely something to do with the gear this time.

Yeah, I have had the occasional insert needle, pull it right back out, WTF nerve pain, this was actually smooth going, just a bit slow to go in so I thought maybe it hit connective tissue somehow when it first started hurting then it became obvious it was probably something else.

Yeah I know what you mean because if something goes wrong with a shot in your quads and the results can be brutal.

Yeah, I even inspected it really close again because I didn't want to toss my masteron out but I pull my test first then pull the masteron so if the test had bacteria in it the masteron does now too. So they both had to go bye bye. At least the mast was half gone already.

Yeah, I made this mistake before and had to do some interesting math to correct the blunder later in the cycle.

So regarding the leg boy oh boy did it get worse! I could barely walk, and only for short periods or my whole outer thigh would start throbbing. The swelling was all the way down my outer quad and bending my leg more than 15-20 degrees was excruciating. I had been sweating a lot so I checked and was running a low grade fever. So I took some antibiotics I had from a previous illness and took a couple days off of work to recover and rest since sleep was almost impossible. Swelling has gone down considerably, and ROM has improved quite a bit. I can walk without a limp, and I am excited that I will be going to train here shortly!

Here are some of my check in pics from this morning at 215lbs up 20.6lbs from low of cut.

You definitely had an infection….good thing you caught it in time, and had some antibiotics. The last thing you need is a nasty infection in a quad to derail all your hard work.
Man you are looking really “swole” now, and your arms and quads are looking huge, especially those quads. You’re becoming the “Quadzilla” of Anabolic Minds.💪😎

I had forgotten how unreal he looked, he was a favorite of mine for a while. Everything was just thick and massive slabs of meat!

Me too, always liked him. that pic makes the lats look a tad on the inflatable/ridiculous side lol, but other than that your update pics lately keep reminding me of him.

Ran out of time then pain in leg became to bad to perform later.

is it at least getting better?

@Dustin07 Oh yeah, much better, that was actually the last session I was able to do anything involving my legs last week. I will train legs on Wednesday, and today will be my first cardio session back on the books. I am not expecting any issues. I can flex now without pain, and even better can stretch the quads without pain. If it is not 100% better, it is close enough I don't really know the difference. I will be heading to do cardio in about 40 minutes, I expect it to go well.

Cardio went very well. No pain or issues at all with my leg.

Elliptical - 25 minutes - level 15 - HR @135-150BPM +5 minute cooldown = 349 calories

That’s some good news indeed!
Agreed!
That’s great man…..any kind of infection can put a scare in you, so glad it resolved pretty quick.
Yeah, it had me nervous, especially with how painful it was.
right on, glad you're doing better!!
Same here! ;)
Glad to hear it went well and pain free!
Thanks!

Was able to get in some nice progression on almost all lifts! Had a massive pump and was looking super thick.

Cardio - 1 hour walk on the hills by the bayou. I was scheduled for a 25 minute session, but yesterday was so nice that I really wanted to get out in the sun. Get a little natty Vit D production going on. I did push the pace to make it a higher effort level and have no doubts I burned the same amount of calories over the course of the hour.

============================================================================

2/21/24 - Fasted Weight 217.2 - Weight still tracking up, although I do feel I am starting to get a little softer than I want to be. I am just trusting in my coach, and the process at this point. I know he won't let me get too far from the goal post.

I forgot that my alarms are set to let me sleep in on Wednesday which is usually a cardio only day. So I was quite surprised when I woke up to my alarm and it said 6:00AM. So going to have to work legs across the street during lunch today in order to avoid training when I get home. I will make it work.

Knocked out my cardio during lunch, going to train legs in the garage tonight, no preworkout, should be fun. :)

Realizing I'm the young buck here when I say: the last 2 weeks have been my first ever in 10+ years of using mesomorph of not using pre-workout daily... I'm not sure if I'm liberated or hate my life.

That is a nice session and I bet a great pump! Sometimes it’s hard to beat a nice walk outside soaking up the sunshine. It was like 57 here today and man it felt great in the sun!

Glad you guys are having some nice weather. I had aerial lift and ladder recertification yesterday. It was 25 was a constant 15MPH Wind. The fun part was being at full vertical extension and having to do a complete clockwise and counter clockwise rotation. Good times!
The guy re-certing us is a transfer from Florida and worked mostly in underground neighborhoods…..those who can’t do, teach! 🤣🤣🤣🤪🤪🤪

Oh yeah, it is both freeing and missed when you first start going without. You realize you can get just as intense without it, but if worn out and don't have one for those days it just sucks.

Wow, that sounds crazy, what is it you do again?

Legs - Wednesday 2/21/24

IronTec Lever Squats - 3 warm up sets
365x10 - RPE7
415x6 - RPE9.5
365x10 - RPE9.5
- The 415 was definitely the heaviest I have gone on this particular movement, it felt good. No spotter so avoided failure on these.

IronTec Lever Leg Press - 315x20 x3 sets @REP7, 8, and 9 - My lower back really did not enjoy these at all. Something about the way it is designed caused a lot of rocking of the hips and started irritating my lower back. By the end of the last set it was really bitching and tight. So I decided to call it there rather than push it, and will add a little more leg work in today after my cardio.

I am going to see if I can go ahead and swap to the early shift starting next week. I really need to have time to complete my leg sessions in one session. Only 90 minutes in the morning is not enough when it takes a while to warm up to my working weights, and rushing the process has definitely not been the answer, and working out in the garage not such a great option since actual squats are out of the equation. If not, I will reorder my says so that my main leg day falls on Saturdays so I can get it all done in one session.
