Happy 4th all and glad to be back. Not going to lie, I hit some deep, dark waters the past 2 months. Everything at once, from every facet. Definitely lost some weight from depression fasting and drinking (hadn’t drank for a year previously. It was a viscous cycle.
I feel I have realigned now.

Very much so, truly huge frame. We’re going to help with a strongman comp this Saturday in MO he’s coming out for, to do a seminar/guest appearance and all that. We got some pictures with him last year and that man is just built different.

I have only ever seen him via video or pictures, but I can only imagine how immensely huge he is in person.

It was nuts. We parked and got out and he got out of the suv next to us. Suddenly I hear my wife from a distant land “are you listening to me?” I come to and reply “do you know who that is?!?!”
Definitely fanboyed out lol. He was with his family and I’m not the type to bug a guy. But I was tempted to get a pic.

Yeah, I imagine it is like looking at a walking mountain! I probably would have tried to do the same thing, and not bother him but I might have gotten too excited and done it anyway. LMAO!

I didn’t bother him during the competition yesterday because he already has so many fans to visit with. But before we left the show, we went to see the promoter (wife’s old coach) to hug him goodbye. I told him we have to train soon, that we have a spare bedroom if he’d prefer to come to us. Then I turned to Brian to include him and said he was welcome too…but the bed is probably a bit small for him.

He said, “Yeah, that’s an unfortunate recurring problem in my life” 🤣🤣🤣

serious problems! His Shaw strongman classic is the 19-20 of august and about 8 mins down the road from me. Might try and sneak away from work for it. Ticket prices have doubled in price from last year though

Things never get cheaper - this is supposed to be Brian’s last big show, he’s getting no younger, and you’ll never have a closer show of this caliber. So my sincere opinion is: if you ever truly intend to go to top international level show even once in your life, this is your best opportunity.

Light giblet squats felt a bit off in the L5 still. I have been cruising gyms and think I’m going to settle on a hybrid CrossFit/strongman gym 5 mins from my house. Belt squat will be my friend but bench will always be my filthy nasty lover. “Build the chest, maintain the rest” is my current mantra.
 
Dustin gained 5kg and thinks he’s a pork chop now; I’ve gained 15kg and feel like I’m quite the studly bull hippo at the moment, if I do say so myself

Hey I legit got down to 224, AND I’ll have you know I’ve been 260 every day for a week now - that’s 116%, which is a 7% increase. And anyone looking for a mortgage in today’s environment will appreciate the intensity of 7%
