Yukon Bar came in!

Using a straight bar to squat is just so painful anymore with my left elbow, so hopefully this will be something good to rotate in that’s more specific than the SSB without pushing it the way a straight bar wrecks me. I also went with this over a cambered bar so I can use it for press variations as well. The knurling is as terrible as expected based on reviews, but this bar feels really solid - way nicer than I could have hoped for at this price point.

Where the hand clutches a buffalo bar is dropped in relation to the high point resting on the upper back, while a straight bar is level all the way across. So that produces less extreme angling & pressure in the elbow and shoulders. Supposedly, the angling also takes a little pressure off the wrists when benching, while also increasing ROM.

The Yukon Bar claims a 6” drop from center point. The Duffalo bar is 4.4”, for reference.

Meet is a week from today. Feeling beat up & tired despite lots of sleep, so motivation to fight through this was pretty low. Cut it after triceps. Time to start resting up. Feel like my estrogen might be a tad low despite no AI.

AAS last week was:
-300mg test e
-50mg test no ester
-200mg mast e
-50mg 1-test c
-150mg var (forgot yesterday’s dose)
-50mg adrol

So 700mg basal and 100mg preWO. I might throw an extra 150mg test e in this week to push estrogen up a little, or at least some oral DHEA.
 
Definitely give yourself some time to recover brother. You train hard so gotta rest hard. But I’ve never done a meet either so I have no insight to approaching these things. Rooting for you man 💪🏻
 
Was gonna mention oral dhea on the estro issue but of course you covered it. Rest up.
 
Looks like your body might be timing your need for rest and recovery for you. I tend to always come back stronger after a properly timed deload or rest. Hopefully you’ll be peaking at just the right time big guy. 👍

Woke up with some yellow gunk so definitely got whatever cough thing the little man has (aside from his coincidental double eye & ear infections!). Which explains how I felt trying to train yesterday.

Perfect timing with the deload week, so no complaints here. I’ll train some grippers, drag the sled a little, hit a couple plates on the big 3 and do a little band fluff but that’s all until Sunday

It's been a while but I remember squatting and benching with a Duffalo Bar. It's a nice bar so it'll be interesting to hear your thoughts on the Titan Yukon bar.

We had a big bbq here yesterday for family & friends and a buddy who’s had some shoulder surgeries tried it out for me, did a few squats and benches with the empty Yukon and his eyes lit up; he said it felt really great.

Well, that's always a good sign haha. I'm sure you'll put it to good use and the price is hard to beat. Be careful when it's racked with no weights on it and you begin to put weights on it. I saw a review where the side that has no weight loaded will start to shift towards you which can be a potential safety issue.

Yeah heard the same. Probably no different than trying to load hundo plates or my strong bands initially onto a regular bar honestly - sketchy at best!

What about when loading one side while having the other side unloaded?

I’ve had no issues. I follow the same on this bar as any other. Never more than two plates more on a side when loading/unloading.

Sounds like your deload is just what you needed, especially after all the weight you’ve been putting up. I think you’ll do really well, and it’s always a good sign when you feel energized and hopefully pain free going into a competition.

Hacking up a ton of yellow gunk each morning! Took a Mucinex DM before bed to get rid of my cough for some deep sleep (even forgot to take my IP6 in the middle of the night when I went to the bathroom I was so zonked), so maybe that played into the extra mucus I got out today.

Going to run 20mg Mk677 today, tomorrow & Saturday to hopefully add a few lbs of waterweight (increased leverage & joint padding). Took 10mg of Supreme’s 45 min before breakfast - the lethargy & hunger pains rolled over me like clockwork. Got lightheaded and felt like I was going to pass out, so I slammed a bunch of juice & honey and things seemed to level out. Very weird.
 
Oh man, hopefully all the gunk gets out of your system before Sunday. Mucinex is good stuff, my go to for colds. Maybe you can take some Primatene (Ephedrine) before the meet. Opens the lungs and an energy boost.

Yep, half a tab of Bronkaid Max (so 12.5mg ephedrine) is my go to for comp efforts. It raises my heart rate a lot, but it makes a dramatic difference in mood, strength, breathing; ie - preparedness.

Planning on that, a scoop of Focus XT, my Ubiquinol/PQQ supp, and 50mg Anadrol due to the long half life.

Might try 500mcg Mtren orally before bench, but I’ve only ever used Medfit’s nasal spray so not sure if it will feel the same.

Lifting starts at 9am. Being in the 275s and a full meet, I expect to be in the last flight of lifters to begin.

Opening 507, 347, & 540lbs on SBD, respectively. I really don’t know where squat will be or if I will be affected by this virus so I’m keeping that very conservative.

Sounds like a good plan….with that layout, you should be fired up and not affected much by a cold or sinuses. And it’s good you’re staying conservative on your opening numbers. It gives a good gauge where your at that day. Like Rocket said stay safe, don’t need any injuries.
From your workouts over the last couple of months, I think you’ll put up some good numbers and it’ll get you psyched up for the big meet your doing later. 👍💪🏆

Yeah it’s the only way I ever come back into training from sinus infections.

Definitely start with half a tab to see how you respond. I absolutely notice a difference with half; that’s all I ever use anymore. Most people like my wife will prefer one full tab for performance enhancement when they use it.

Welcome - I’m doing a powerlifting meet Sunday!

Both. It will unclog a stuffy nose right away, and furthermore the stimulant is easily better and cleaner than any other stim I’ve ever used. Better than caffeine, DMAA, any of the other amphetamine analogs, anything. 25mg will bring some horsepower!

I would stay away from the amphetamines it’s to easy to develop a habit
