Yep that is exactly what happened, I was just not thinking when I did it. As soon as I did I was like that was just stoooooopid! Typically I pay more attention to my movement. I am definitely bracing with everything now just so I don't reaggravate it. Snaps back to the front of your mind real quick once it is too late. Like you said it requires mindfulness and unfortunately I was slipping in that regard.
hey, you are describing my life, lol...it's like when time freezes when i am falling backwards in slow motion on ice and am powerless to stop the inevitable smack on pavement-DAMN, i should have been more careful.

Blood work - Well boys and girls, blood work is not looking so great. My Metabolic Panel came back with a gold star, even my creatinine and BUN were well within range which is great with my kidney scarring, just showing I have full function there.

However, that is where the good news seems to stop.

My Lipid and Hormone panel need some work!!!

Total CHO 240, not horrible but far from good. At least HDL is in okay range but LDL is pretty ridiculous. I need to do something about this ASAP.

Estrogens, and Estradiol are all high! Every form of them tested is grossly out of range.

Hematocrit / RBC - ridiculously high right now. I have to go get my phlebotomy paperwork filled out again so I can go donate. That will help things out quickly.

TESTOSTERONE - HOLY CRAP!!! Guess I am cruising and didn't even know it. Not sure whap happened but I used to trough at 900 with this same dose and now trough is 1600!!!!! Not sure what changed, but it makes a lot of sense why the estradiol and estrogens are so high. Same with LDL, hematocrit, and RBC.

Anyone have any clue what might have changed that my test levels are so much higher at the same dose right now?

After looking at a lot of this I think I am also going to go ahead and follow Hyde's plan for post cycle correction of using an extended fast. Since I have some bloodwork to compare it too I may even go back for a blood draw a week after and see what has transpired in that time.

Tell me more about this extended fast..
@enhanced Well I have always known about the benefits of fasting intermittently, and have read some of the effects of longer fasts on catabolism, muscle sparing and inflammation markers. However, I was not aware that the autophagy that takes place can actually clear out so much of the lipids and what not. @Hyde discusses a little in his log about what he is doing, but he posted up this youtube video that explains a bit more.

No doubt. I am definitely going to get back into some odd object training and whatnot to get my body better at working at imperfect angles, and uneven weights. Get stronger in all positions again.

Yesterday was an easy day. Just a few 10 minute walks, and no other training. I wanted to give the lower back some time to recover before doing a pull workout. I am feeling pretty good this morning. Going to go out to train here in a bit, and will post up workout after.

My plan as of now is to go keto starting Monday, then Wednesday I will have some BDay cake with Sage for their birthday and that will be my last meal for at least 76 hours but the goal is until Monday morning. I went and found a recipe for the Snake Juice as he calls it, a combination of salt, potassium chloride and a little epsom salt. I will be drinking that to keep electrolytes up.
Spoke a little with @Hyde about my bloodwork. Once I finish the fast, I will be taking in more fruits, veggies and other higher fiber complex carbs. Will also increase cardiovascular activity levels to complete the correction. No plans at this moment to lower testosterone. Just correct the lipids via diet and cardio, and take advantage of the testosterone levels for now since he said my estradiol looked in great for current testosterone levels. Other than that my doc is filling out and sending my phlebotomy work to the blood center. So I will be doing a double RBC donation next week which should take a chunk out of that HCT.

Seeing the bloods just gives me more motivation and turns up the heat on my efforts. Fix the lipids and HCT, and take advantage of cruise levels of testosterone. CHECK!!!!

Great video! The autophagy thing has been fascinating to me lately. The benefits are far greater than anything else I've seen. Not going to derail your thread.. I had started one a couple weeks ago on fasting, so I'll speak more about it there..

Good luck dude!!

walk fast, jog, walk fast, jog....then---run, run like hell!!!

it was nice to be able to run outdoor today, i'm grateful to have a high grade home treadmill but much prefer running outdoors--i pre-measure out my mileage with odometer in my truck so i have a accurate account of distance although someday's i will go farther now that i'm retired and don't have restraints on my time like before.

i have a addictive nature, fortunately i have been blessed to have channelled this to a healthy lifestyle--running/lifting.

Alright, had a nice back workout.

Did a dynamic warm up and some activation work for RC

1 Arm Lat Pull Down 50 x8 x2

CG Pull Ups 3, 6, 6, 2, 6, 4 - the 3 was a warm up set, and the 2 was an attempt at regular grip but it didn't feel right, so I stopped waited about 30 seconds and did another set.

One Arm Fat Grip Bent Over DB Row - Bench supported - 2-1-1-1 tempo - 35x15 x 3 - these felt great!!!

Chin Grip Pull Down - Biceps Focus - 2-1-1-1 tempo - 120x8 x 3

Fat Grip DB Rear Delt Swing/Raise - Bench Supported - Tempo 2-1-1-0 - 35x15 x3

Was pretty much toast after that, but it felt so good at the same time.

Yep that is how I get started with the alternating. I have to be a little careful with my hip right now though. So most of my cardio is probably going to be on a bike, or walking incline on treadmill until I feel I can push running. However i do want to get back to it. It is just something I feel I should be able to do. At least a mile or two without feeling like I am dying.

Yeah I know many people who have traded this lifestyle for other addictions successfully. If you have to have a vice staying fit is a good one to have.

i know how you feel, it's like a junkie needing a fix...but since we are both older and have gone through many struggles in our quest for fitness---the lesson we have learned is it's best to take recovery slow and easy rather than get to eager and fvck things up...like most things in life--easier said than done-eh?

from AA-the baby motto--i want what i want when i want it....one day at a time works for me!!!!

By the way on Day 2 of keto, only got in about 2200 calories yesterday, breaking fast now with a big salad with chicken. I am taking tomorrow off of work to spend with the wife and kiddo. Not sure if I will spend the whole day keto outside of birthday dinner or not. Mentally prepared for the big fast now. Starts after my last meal tomorrow, and I am ready. At a minimum this will be 76 hours, but planning to go until Monday morning. Perhaps longer if things are holding up well. I just can't be mentally useless Monday at work.

My son is supposed to be coming over to lift tonight. I have my new program set up. Hopefully he makes it, but if not Oh well. I am getting after it. Doing an Upper / Lower Push workout. Things are picking u. Gonna go eat some turkey so I have a lil energy this evening.

Can’t remember, is this your first keto experience or no?
Oh, no not at all. I did keto for a very long time. Plus with my normal intermittent fasting shifting to lipids shouldn't be too hard on me.

Welcome back, and glad to hear you are in recovery.
Had a great day with Sage, they got their first tattoo yesterday for their birthday.

So my fast started last night @ 9:30PM, I definitely took myself out of ketosis with the birthday cake an what not. I am sure that is a part of why I am starting to feel a little hungry already compared to normal. However not expecting too many issues today, just some simple discipline. Since not eating I will be taking a walk for lunch here shortly. I will do some light training tonight and Saturday if there is anything in tank. Otherwise just being active and walking. Already running all over at work today, which is good for the goal.

Had black coffee this morning, and sipping on the electrolyte mix through out the day.

Facts!
Remember, all you have to do is NOT eat. Anyone can do this!
Yeah, I got this! I know it is easy to say now at the 20ish hour mark, but I expect to make it through just fine. I walked outside for an hour at lunch. It felt great, feel a few hung pangs here and there but in general no big deal as of now. I didn't really expect it to get really challenging until tomorrow. I intend to try to stay busy and distracted until, being busy is too hard for me due to low energy.

I don't think I could !!
I think if you really set your mind to it you could.
*Anyone who doesn’t have a physical job. Someone who has to be very physically present shouldn’t do this, or with blood sugar issues perhaps like yourself. But someone in a typical office gig can make this work, with the right mindset.
So far I agree with this completely.

About 38 hours into my fast now and so far so good. I had to will my way through a few hunger episodes yesterday but they seem to only last for a short period and then back on to just keeping myself busy with something.

I went out and walked an hour at lunch yesterday, and did light exercise yesterday evening. I got in 3 sets of each focusing on slow tempo and creating a lot of tension. TRX Alphabets, Flexing air squats, push ups and TRX rows. Nothing major just wanted to make the muscle work a little without causing any muscle damage. Send them a you are still needed signal. Just that little bit kicked my ass. LOL

I have already taken a 15 minute walk a little earlier and will be heading out for another walk at lunch. Feeling good, black coffee seems to help with hunger and desire for a little taste. Not much else to update.

The minimum is Sunday morning, but will go to Monday if not too bad off. I need my brain working well for work so will play it by ear on how I am doing as of Sunday. So far I am doing alright but the ghrelin releases are real! Worst times are when I would normally eat. I am at the 45 hour mark now and feeling fine other than being hungry of course.

I walked an hour at lunch again, got a Lil tired from it for a bit then was fine. I will likely to shorter more frequent walks over the weekend.

I have a real challenge tomorrow! I have to break out the pit and cook for Sages bday party. That is going to be hell!!!

Luckily they want burgers and sausage so not too bad. If it was steak or slow cooking some hunk of flesh it would be real torture.

You got it man! You are just now getting into the real autophagy benefits, and tomorrow will be easier for real.
I made it to 76 hours now. Not sure if going after tomorrow morning.

I love coffee, but I can't handle it black.
It's not my favorite but I can manage but had to make it a little weaker than usual.

I finished my 48 hour fast last night. It really wasn't that hard. I couldn't imagine having to cook while fasting though. Lol.
It was a challenge.

Once you go black…actually, I still enjoy it all ways! Both women and coffee
Lmao

Never went Black either way ??
Lol

So, Kleen, how ya feeling!!??
Today was rough on me.

I only go black.
Nothing wrong with that!

He went black……..

And never came back
Lmfao

Lmao!!! I love this place!
Ŕight

Aww man, well there’s still time for you for the coffee at least
Lol

So I made it this far, today was hard no lie. I was moving nonstop from 7:30AM to 9:00PM surrounded by food and drinks, plus smelling the food I was cooking. So I was just low energy and starving all day. My determination never wavered but I was easily frustrated until I got most of the party prep done. Entertaining was easy though since the pressure was off and loved ones to distract me.
I also was a bit foggy headed today so that will be a factor on if I break fast tomorrow or Monday. I need to be on my game when I get in Monday. I have a trial and some big AV meetings to support.

Now I am going to pass smooth out!

A few words of wisdom, next time you plan a fast don't do it when you have to prepare food for a party !!
To be fair, I thought we were ordering pizza for this thing when I planned the fast and then things changed. So I had to decide if I was going to make excuses or step up to the plate. So I stepped up to the plate. This wasn't just about health and everything else. There is also a sense of testing my will power to make it to this point. I have succeeded now which feels good and gives more desire to show some of that discipline when it comes to consistency. It is a challenge with my ADHD if it isn't my main focus, but this gives me ammo to call myself out on any excuse I try to make for myself.

Just trying to figure out what and when I am going to to eat today. I know for certain I could hold out until tomorrow morning. Honestly as far as will power goes I think I could go a few more days. Just not feeling mentally sharp, look exhausted, and my body feels heavy. Either way, being sharp at work is a priority, so I am planning to eat later today. Have some fuel for work and working out tomorrow.

I broke my fast at 5 so 91.5 hrs not too bad. Had some grilled wings for my first meal since that was my major craving. Just not as many or as hot as usual to give my stomach a chance. I will start bringing in more grains and lowering fat intake mostly vla saturated fat reduction tomorrow.
