We both know the Biden administration has zero interest in fixing any of the problems facing Americans. How do we know? Well, every executive order and other twisted actions since the inauguration have been blatant moves to destroy our country on so many levels.
The energy crisis that the democrats predictably created never would have happened. The availability of goods/food would also be a true top priority of a Trump administration. Trump is a perfectionist, and even in light of it being a worldwide challenge, Trump would do everything in his power to not make that a reality for this country. He always made things happen, and that’s exactly what we need now more than ever!
That’s only because the media brainwashed people relentlessly for four years and still do with anti-Trump propaganda. These are the same people we saw dancing in the streets and honking their horns when Biden was declared the winner of the 2020 election.

So that was back in Febuary and the review was 100 days, and it doesnt really seem like he accomplished anything other than signing a piece of paper with vague jotter that doesnt explain how he is really going to review, do or solve anything.

That’s common waiter wage…with tips you can really kill it if your good.
There actually pushback within the waiter industry to stop government from mandating minimum wage laws as it would crush their earning potential.
Also usually going to a place where good work and attitude is incentivized have repeat customers like me coming back.
Most of the best paying jobs I ever had didn’t have hourly wages at all.

So your saying you would rather make $15 minimum wage rather than $2 an hour plus averaging another 20-30/hr in tips?
If Government pulls off minimum wage laws in the service industry, its only because they want to steal more tax money from little people...that $15/hr isnt even that much anymore.
Have you ever even worked in a tip based environment before?

You know, I don’t even get $2 an hour. I get $0 an hour. My income is purely 100% on my own performance when it comes to generating income, and the harder I work the more government punishes me for my productive behaviors. I pay more taxes via gun force to my temple than most waiters do.
Should government force Amazon and eBay to pay me base $2/hr base salary or maybe $15/hr minimum which is where I work? Why should someone like me even care about people making a whole $2/hr more than I make as a hourly wage? I make freaking $0 and for many years.

In most states, servers make $2.13 an hour plus tips. I’ve never agreed with that at all, although if you’re good at what you do and work at an upscale restaurant, you can make bank.

Yeah, no doubt some people can. It's just crazy to me that they need to rely on tips to make a living.
I think in some contexts commission based work makes sense - I.e. door to door sales. But in places where someone is waiting tables, cleaning and doing all other kinds of work for a business only to be paid by the patrons and not the business owner it just feels wrong to me.
It would make sense if selling menu items were their only job, but it isn't. I think they should be paid fairly for the other aspects of their job.

Nobody is forcing people to take these jobs in the first place, and if its that bad why are so many in the industry pushing back against change and insisting on continuing tip based wages? Why would you want to ruin these people's careers with crappy hourly based pay?
Actually, not just me ex, but my own wife used to work at a Thai restaurant before I married her. And believe me, she made more than hourly wage people working at restaurants.
If people dont want to work tip based jobs they can always apply at Walmart or McDonalds and flip burgers or something. There are plenty of jobs available.

my wife and i actually watched the xfinity race where brandon brown was being interviewed and the announcer was trying to say the crowd was chanting lets go brandon--my wife and i both laughed and said that aint what they are saying--it was hilarious.

I was just intentionally picking and choosing the part that made me look like the big winner here for the debate, LOL!
But pretty much anyone from Berkeley has just as much of a biased eye as I have from the opposite end of the spectrum.
But really, the truth is there are both winners and losers in the tipped based industry, but it wouldnt be fair to screw over the many jobs where people excel and have a chance at have a really nice sustainable long term income with low education requirements. Getting a paycut because others who are in less than desirable situation isnt fair and is immoral.
Winners and losers are situational, people can always go to school, take vocational classes and look for another job. Nobody forces anyone to sign up for tipped based jobs. Government intervention will only make things worse.

I would argue it is immoral to pay someone $80 for 40 hours of work - especially when the article claims 2/3rds of that workforce are in poverty. Then, we people say "stuff it" and not take up jobs, people cry when resturants are closed due to staff shortage.
You can't have it both ways.
Plus it isn't a pay cut, because tips are not pay.

Nobody is getting paid $80 for 40 hours worth of work here. I live in America, Ive had jobs in the restaurant business, Ive had family, friends who have had these types of jobs. I know people that have had these jobs with a $2 base salary for decades and they are doing fine. Some people did it for a while to get by and move on to the next thing, but it helped them alot.
We cant have it both ways because one way doesnt even exist.
If there is anybody I know that made $2 an hour its the illegal immigrants that wash dishes in the back of the kitchen. At least friends of mine were making that much back in the 90s, not sure how the going illegal alien rate is these days.

The only reason people are saying "stuff it" and not taking up the jobs is because government has been handing out stolen money for people to stay home and people can afford to do so while also making it illegal to evict these people so for over a year and a half they didnt even have to pay rent. Once their money dries up they will beg to get these jobs back. Thats the truth.
Resturaunts have primarily closed because of the authoritarian government fist making them for a long time illegal to operate and also scaring the crap out of society sucking the joy out of life.

There are plenty of jobs and opportunities here in America for people to earn more, or gain skills to be better and earn more. We have more opportunities than most places on earth but the problem is people are generally lazy and waste time. I used to be like that myself until I went woke.

In New York State they have been offering free job training including covering access to over 4,000 courses on Coursera and other on the job training opportunities.
The question I ask is, how many of these $2 an hour worker, or someone who refuses to go back to work because they have been handed a silver spoon for the past year and a half have taken any steps to better prepare themselves for more opportunities that pay better living wages?

I know you're pro the free market deciding for itself, and I would be too if it worked. The problem is that it simply doesn't at the moment.
Larger companies work together to crush competition. Look at Google for instance - it's so dominant that not even a multi billion dollar competitor in Microsoft can meaningfully draw consumers from it. And that's even when Microsoft has its own built in browser in its operating products that aims to try force users to use it.
So then when Google and Facebook have an understanding called "Jedi Blue" in which the game is so rigged for dominant players to the point that Googles Double Click service doesn't even have to be the highest bidder to win advertising contracts, that causes a problem for new entrants who simply cannot compete against them.
Or dominant Supermarket chains basically telling suppliers to take cut throat deals or not have their products stocked on shelves, that forces suppliers to comply or lose business.
If you ever think the free market will ever regulate itself, you're forgetting 1 key component: humans are greedy AF and don't give a f*** about playing fair. Anti-child labour laws exist because if they didn't you'd have 5 year olds crafting shoes in the western world

Ok, I understand. If you want to pay people for what they are worth you would abolish the hourly wage, period. Work should be performance based only, and I do have experience with that. Ive worked with many people that dont even deserve to be paid, and people with the same position who were under-paid, but these are the consequences of hourly wage mentality.
There are alot of problems with the bigs swallowing up the little/middle people, that all comes down to big government and corporate lobby which should absolutely be abolished. Little things that sound noble such as minimum wage laws primarily benefit big corporations and create unequality in the free market world. Little smaller chains simply cant compete.
Here in the USA we dont have fair free markets, if we did it would certainly regulate itself but we dont have a fair playing field because people from the left to right vote in big government corporate corrupt Republicans and Democrats into office rather than supporters of free and fair markets.
I have no problem with anti-child labor laws or certain safety work place regulations, Im not a anarchist. I just want government so small you can barely see it, and they are by your side when you need them which is what makes our Constitution special.

Performance based wage above a minimum is an option. Having the option to just not pay opens up the option for companies to ever-change the goalposts to pay you as little as feasibly possible. Again, companies will exploit this to the nth degree. Plus not all work is performance based. How do you quantify something like being a Doctor or Psychologist? would you reward churning through people vs having a meaningful impact? Does the difficulty of diagnosis have an impact on remuneration? And etc etc.

Well a doctor and psychologist you charge by service. If you gain a reputation they are free to charge more or if they want to serve more depressed communities they can charge less or be flexible on charges.
If they work in a hospital setting you simply work out a contract and if you perform you re-negotiate a contract and even negotiate on other districts.
This day in age there are reputation sites such as Yelp, even my own insurance platform offers reviews within my own network and we can pick and choose who we do business with.
As far as exploitation goes a free market system allows opportunities to find other jobs, go to school, learn new skills, start your own business.
People in America are typically exploited when they allow themselves to be and don’t work to put themselves in better position. Illegal immigrants on the other hand have been exploited for years but they broke the law coming here.

Rats and rabbits are also sentient animals, and testing on them is just as messed up. It'd be good to see them so passionate about those animals as well.
