Hey everyone, as most of you have heard by now, one of our dearest members passed away on Friday. @puccah8808 There are no words to touch the loss this has created in my life, much less her family’s. She was such an incredible person…full of love, passion, and fire! She was always willing to help anyone who needed it and ready to put you in your place if you needed that as well!

I wanted to create this thread for 2 reasons. One several of you guys have mentioned wanting to do something to show the family how much she meant to us and paying our condolences as well. I can create a gofundme or you can send me your contributions through PayPal, cash app, or venmo. (Only downside to gofundme is they charge 3%…everything else has avoidable fees. ) You guys can also suggest or request what we send.

Number two…I want this to be a thread of memories, of stories, things she has said or done. I would love to see this go one for a very long time!!

Update…
Started a gofundme I figured this is the easiest way. You guys can contribute financially and/or leave messages to the family. I will put everything into a card and send it to them. Of course you can contribute ideas here on what you think we could do. Plant, gift cards to restaurants, flowers, wreaths etc. of course depending on what we gather too.

Whatever I can do to help please let me know @love2liftkat . Anyone who is on AM is family to me, we have to make sure we take care of each and every person. Your loss is my loss. In this day and age, we can't take anything for granted. This world is one cruel place and we have to make the most of it while we are here.I am here to help in any way possible. I am very sorry for your loss and losing such a valuable member such as @puccah8808

Don’t think I’ve ever talked with her. Still, I have seen her around, and this is definitely still bothering me. I’m very sorry for everyone having to deal with this.

My favorite memory of her is a tie between when she and I took a little road trip and spent hours talking and being silly/stupid together or when we trained together. Woman was really strong and had a lot of potential.
I used to always tease her about her awful palette. I took her to Whataburger (a TX burger chain) and I got some spicy ketchup for my fries. She tried it and said it tasted like salsa. I looked at her like she was crazy, which she was lol. I really loved her and she was too kind and tender for her own good.

I don’t have any great story to share, but she sent me her Gangsta Wraps back in 2014 or so because she hated them, and I still wear them to this day. She was kind and will be missed.

Thanks for setting this up Kat, donation made. I’m happy with whatever most people feel would be best but I thought a wreath (possibly an AM in flowers type thing?) might be a nice way to honour her at her funeral.

I like that idea. Maybe @Admin could send me something with the logo on it?

Oh my God. I haven't been on I'm a couple weeks and came back to check in and saw the other thread and now this. Truly shocked and sad. She was a good person who I didn't know well, but knew well enough to know that.

This is unbelievable and so sad. Happy to contribute in some way to whatever we decide.

I almost mentioned a few times that I felt like I wanted to do something and it’s great to see that others feel likewise. Thanks for taking it upon yourself to do this! Donation made..

No specific suggestions or preferences on what to do with the donations at this time..

Very sorry to hear this. I never really interacted with her much but knew she was a longtime member that contributed here and had a lot of friends here. She will be missed at AM and am grateful for the time she gave to AM. RIP.

Definitely not what I was expecting when I opened this thread. I didn't have much interaction with her on here but I know a lot of you did and she was a very active member.

For those of you that know her I'm sorry for your losses. There's not many things in my life that I can't handle, but when I personally loose a friend I breakdown hard. So I definitely understand the pain. Keep your heads up

No doubt I’ll be hugging her so tight when I get to heaven!

Thank you guys for the love you’re showing her and thank you to all the ones who have donated so far!

I can say this has hit me the hardest of any death I’ve experienced in years. I keep wanting to text her, schedule that long planned meet up…

She really made such an impact every where she went!

I am still just shocked and in awe of this. Someone who truly explored and loved life. I consider myself lucky to have gotten to work with her on reaching some of her goals. Miss the talks and chats about lifting, life, love and her future which was an ever changing landscape of personal exploration. Such a kind heart, and lets not forget that she was absolutely stunning on top of all of that other awesomeness. She is and will be missed by many here for a long time to come.

I just realized I am very lucky. She wrote me a testimonial after working with me a while back, so I am happy I have something I can go read that tells me how she felt about me too. Crazy how those little things you have around can become big important memories.

As far as what to do with the money, flowers are nice, I would donate to family if they need it before that. I would probably even find out what her favorite charity was and donate in her name if the family is not in need. I always felt generosity was her thing so that could be something she would have appreciated.

Thank you both! I agree- generosity was a true gift of hers! Charity is a good idea. I did reach out to her brother and he said that everything was taken care of financially. I’m hoping to learn more before her funeral- such as charities or anything they felt she’d want contributions to go to…The funeral won’t be until the 28th.

So I just wanted to share how and why I felt a connection to Puccah,

I actually didn’t start interacting with her until just over a year ago. Prior to that, we had just never really crossed paths before. We happened to share similar ”worldly” views and other perspectives on life’s challenges these days, so we just started sharing thoughts with each other in a rather well known thread.

Aside from what we had in common along those lines, her personality was magnetic. I was drawn toward her ability to think for herself and say things just as they are. At the same time, her sense of humor and wit always came through just as much if not more. It was always a pleasure to read her posts as well as her responses to mine. She was definitely a genuine person, a hard worker, very educated, and always willing to take the next step to achieve her goals. Quite admirable by anyone’s standards. Make no mistake though, she was badass in the best of ways.

Not too long ago, many of you likley know from the other thread that she asked me to post some pictures of the fall foliage here in my home state of Maine. It was so cute the way she asked, or should I say told me..
Maine does sound beautiful! Post pics of the New England fall trees, k?!
I loved the idea because I used to do art/photography, but haven’t done anything creative for many, many years. Because of her, I went out and did something creative again and it felt good! I will never look at fall foliage again without thinking of her.

So this kind of leads up to our recent interactions when she was informing us about her COVID status and rapidly escalating critical care requirements. She expressed her fear and I knew exactly what she was going through as taking care of COVID patients has been a huge part of my job since the beginning of the pandemic. I knew she was sharp, so I informed her about the oxygen devices that were being utilized so she could understand what they are in more detail than what is explained to any patient. I also gave her some other tips and goals on what we have seen work so she could advocate for herself as/if needed. I’m sure she had an excellent team, but I wanted to at least contribute some core aspects of what I know regardless.

After that, we never got to hear another update from Puccah. It’s a blessing that family and close friends reached out so we could all have appropriate closure. I take comfort in knowing she is in a great place.

(sorry that was so long- I knew it would be)

Well said and I was thinking the same thing about giving to her family, since she always seemed to be a provider for her family and others from what I can tell.

That goal should be exceeded, because Puccah would have exceeded her goals.

Just put in a donation. I never interacted with @puccah8808, but the least I can do is support you @love2liftkat and the AM family.

Your experience had some of the same factors as mine, without the medical knowledge or quite the depth...unfortunately. I actually regret that, because like you I began talking to her when we shared similar thoughts in the very thread you speak of. Of course, it turned out she had visited a friend in a town in my state a while back and was 20 minutes away from me at some point, even though she lived on the other side of the country.

She was smart, and funny. She made me laugh and even though I didn't really know her, I knew I didn't have to be overly cautious about talking to her and she got my twisted sense of humor.

I had a couple of good chats with her that helped a lot during the lockdowns. But then I got busy and I haven't been on as much and I just never had a chance to get to know her better, which is unfortunate. From the few brief one-on-one conversations I had, I could tell she was a loyal friend.

I am really sad for her family and for those of you on here who knew her so well.

I still cannot believe it.

I never expected to see this...I'm crying about it now.

I only talked to her a few times, but she seemed like a genuinely good person with an amazing and indomitable spirit.

Wherever you are, Puccah, I'll never forget you.

Thank you guys! We have met and actually surpassed the goal by $45!! That’s amazing! They way I look at it, the more we can do for them, the better.

I’d love to be able to donate to the family as well as a charity in her name if possible. I haven’t asked them about that yet. I wanted to give you guys the chance for any other donations that might come in. I have also been trying to let as many old member know about her passing as possible.

Absolutely beautiful pictures @Ricky10
Are those taken near you?

Yes…thank you! That is about a mile from my house. I will have to find some other places though too, and the next week or two will be peak season. Maybe we could have a tree (or a few) planted in her memory as part of this? Something like this?

Yeah, it’s not too late to donate and it doesn’t have to be much. If everyone interested gives just $10 or $20 it adds up fast. Many people knew her throughout the years and its a nice way to pay tribute to her as someone who lost their life way too soon due to this horrendous virus.

While the current total is nice, this community is capable of doing much better.

RIP PUCCAH. You will be missed dearly. I haven’t been active as of late as life has gotten real busy. She was very welcoming to me when I first hopped on this forum in 2014.

This virus is definitely real and it’s unfortunate that one of our beloved members passed because of it.

Yeah…I think this would be a great way to utilize some of the donations, and we would still have plenty of money left to do ideas such as you suggested.

Apparently, we could have 10 tress planted for $125, along with a framed certificate with free priority shipping to Puccah’s family.
