Movies and tv shows discussion

In preparation for No Time To Die i plan to rewatch the four other Daniel Craig Bond movies.
  • Casino Royale
  • Quantum Of Solace
  • Skyfall

Just to refresh my memory so that I maybe enjoy the new one as much as possible.

Hopefully it comes on Nextflix in our country aswell, so I can give it a whirl. Never seen a full episode. Friends was the comedy show everyone watched in the 90's in here.

My all time favorite TV shows (unless forgetting some):

Fargo (seasons 1 and 2. 3 and 4 okey)
Band of brothers
Breaking bad
Dexter
True Detective (season 1 and maybe 3)
South Park
The Wire
GOT
Better call Saul
🤔

LOL.

Know what's funny? I FINALLY watched the movie Fargo for the first time, a couple of months ago.

The accents and dead-pan were awesome!

LOL

Haha, I guess so then 😁

I actually watched the Fargo movie quite a lot later, than the 2 (or 3 can't remember) seasons of the show myself. I found the TV show better, but the movie was good aswell and typical Coen brothers awesome cinema 😄

The first season of Fargo especially is one of those creations, that illustrates well why TV and movies are a fine form of art and not 'just entertainment'. The well placed and chosen music, choice of actors for the roles and their acting, the little hints and details left here and there for the viewer, that many times are not even important for the plot or for anything really, other than interesting/funny details, the screenplay etc. etc. It's awesome, lol

I haven't seen any of the Fargo shows, but I've noticed the past couple of years that some TV shows are now like movies in their production quality.

If you have the time some day, watch the first ep of season 1. It starts slow, but by the end of the first episode, you'll know if you wan't to continue, lol = ) I feel like TV shows rarely surprise me, but I was surprised.. It also has some big name actors in it from well known movies.

You like shows like me where there is a fine line between good guys and bad guys. You would probably like Oz. It was one of the first HBO original series. Another one that comes to mind like these is The Shield.

Appreciate that man.
... Wouldn't want anyone to get butthurt.

Funny you should say that. There a few poor saps in the show that get butthurt quite literally. I just watched it pretty recently as I did a free trail of HBO Max. I'm a pretty big TV guy. Hell TV and working out are probably my 2 favorite things to talk about. LOL

... Yeah, it was supposed to be a little joke.
.... Apparently it was .... Very little.
LOL

Fair warning about Oz though there are a lot of uncomfortable scenes.

Oh wow oz .. I remember that coming out when I was too poor to own hbo lol

Great show from what I hear .. I think oz came first and then they released sopranos and hbo took off back in the day.

Yep I think you are correct. I didn't seem like my cup of tea but heard it was good and after a few episodes I was hooked. Man, I think there were like 5 seasons. I don't binge watch so it took me a while to get through it.

I'm doing Hulu

I just finished episode 1 .. going to binge watch it now @ work lol

pretty good pilot, i like these kind as i can have it in the background at work and doesnt require too much attention

There were some Sci-fi fans here. I'm watching a movie called Upgrade right now on TV (on a commercial break) and it's pretty damn good thus far. Just came to hype it up, lol. I'm not typically that big on sci-fi, but it has got 7.5 points on IMDB, so gave it a chance, glad I did.

Oh yeah, sorry typo.

No problem....
I appreciate you sharing that movie.
If you generally like Sci-fi, I could recommend some....

Children of Men was excellent, The Adjustment Bureau, Ex Machina....
I personally Really liked Arrival.
And for a "Pop" Sci-Fi movie, Passengers wasn't bad.

Annihilation was awesome.
Inception and Interstellar are not new anymore but they are both Top-notch movies.
Super 8 is centered around kids, but it's a great throwback type move set in the '80s.

Yeah, thanks for pointing that out. Normally a typo wouldn't matter, but since it was in the name of the movie, it did.

I liked Arrival too. Passengers sounds familiar. I've been meaning to watch Interstellar again, cause' I kind of lost focus in the end. I watched it with a group of friends the first time and that can happen sometimes with long movies. Adjustment bureau and Inception didn't hit me that well, although very cool ideas. With Inception it might of been a bit because of all the hype and was portrayed as the movie of the century by some sources, so that's already a tough spot. For reference I liked Shutter Island better for example (they came out back to back and starred DiCaprio).

I'll check out the rest of the movies you listed 👍

I just realized that I've got an HBO free preview....
So I'm recording WW84, Greenland, and News of the World.
I'm most interested in seeing Greenland... I like Sci-Fi.

Haven’t read the entire thread yet.
But I’ve rewatched Dredd(w/ Karl urban) 3 times in the past week.
Such an underrated movie.
Reminds me of punisher.
Highly recommend if you haven’t seen it.

This is underrated. Karl does a phenomenal job. IMO it's about the only good role he can play. Grumpy, mad, character. Like in the Boys or Ragnarok.

Any1 seen the new Venom yet ?
no spoilers - looking fwd to seeing it next weekend

Actually haven't even seen the first one, but saw a clip from it on FB recently and thought I have to see it. Is Tom Hardy also in the sequel?
