Maybe it has SERM like activity. The total flavones from Semen cuscutae reverse the reduction of testosterone level and the expression of androgen receptor gene in kidney-yang deficient mice - PubMed
This is the first study to demonstrate that TFSC treatment may reverse kidney-yang deficiency symptoms by restoring the levels of testosterone and AR mRNA and protein expression in the kidney and testicle.pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
A website stated "Effect on fertility - Experiments show that its flavonoids have estrogen-like effects. It also seems to have a protective role in human sperm; it’s androgen-like action can protect the reproductive organs of male animals, promote the testicular development and the production of testosterone, and prevent the spermatogenic cell from oxidative damage and apoptosis"
