The irony is, the fastest way to reopening is to do a hardcore pause. Would it suck? Of course...but it'd be better than this dragged out, war of attrition.

The problem is there are so many snowflakes and that think its their rights being trampled on. Makes it virtually impossible to have a large enough buy-in to make it effective. Such is the price of freedoms and diversity I suppose.

The entanglement of politics and science has been really painful to watch. Reminds me how our education system fails so many so often - a lack of understanding of the basics of how science works. Even just a simple book like The Structure of Scientific Revolutions by Kuhn that explains science proves nothing...it simply supports current paradigms. Until it doesn't. Anomalies are discovered and paradigm shifts occur. That's how it works.

In my undergrad work, if I ever used the word "proven" it was instant points off. It was only ever supports or suggests. It opened my mind up to the fallibility of science but not to the idea of dismissing it like we've seen.

We all exist and operate with an agreement that the theory of gravity is our best model to explain the most amount of events - until we find something better.

Sorry to go off on a rant but to me, despite some of the early shortcomings from our scientists - by and large they guided properly and it was fumbled on its way to the general public. Wish more people were able to see it this way.

enjoy $10 gallon gas, and the high prices on everything else it brings, lol....i know you don't care since you are independently wealthy, but a lot of people gonna get hurt real bad, especially if this is a bad winter and the cost of natural gas doubles or triples.

everything you buy comes by truck even if you order online look for shipping costs to increase by a lot.
 
biden was right about one thing--this is going to be a dark winter...i predict the US economy to crash and burn.

You could be right. It's fairly suspicious that WI is within 21,000 votes and had a 90+% voter turnout. To put that in perspective, the 4 states I looked up that were either obvious liberal states (like MA) or obvious Trump states all had turnouts of about 2/3 of the registered voters. It's also notable that Biden has surgical precision for only taking the couple of highly populated districts in certain swing states - the entire state votes red, except for a handful of highly populated districs that go the polar opposite.

If things go the way they are looking right now, people will soon discover the harsh consequences of what they voted for. Not liking someone’s personality and then believing Trump should have waved his magic wand to make the China virus something different aren’t reasons to vote for a ticket is incompetent on every level.

Trump crushed in WI - except for Dane County, where literally 2/3 (approx 260,000 of the approx 390,000 registered voters) of all registered voters turned up and voted for Biden. Trump got 78,000 votes in this county - meaning that there was an almost 87% turnout here. Pretty strange considering the turnouts in all other non-biden won districts in these states. It's just strange that the one district with the highest population in these states have near 90% turnouts and turn the entire state. Not saying it's fraud, just saying that if I was going to scam the system, that's how I'd do it.

Trump was approx. 180,000 votes behind in that one district and lost the state by 21,000 votes total. :rolleyes:

Yeah, Michigan has similar numbers in terms of how tight it is- if only he can somehow pull that one off! Not holding my breath though..

That’s interesting in terms of the voter turnout percentages. Though he will get ridiculed for it, we know that Trump will continue making efforts to ensure that results are as trustworthy as possible. He’s a fighter!

Dane county contains Madison within it. It isnt super surprising that Biden would win that county given Univ of Wisconsin is there AND its the state’s biggest city.

Edit; yah...except for Milwaukee lol. Brain fart on my part there. Milwaukee is easy to forget about.

Yes, it's not a smoking gun necessarily because of this.

Trying to formulate my thoughts on this still...because I've been looking at some data and it's not all there in my head yet...but MA is an example of a state I would expect to vote for Biden. We have 4.8M voters, I believe about 3/4 of these are registered as liberals and we had about 3.2M votes come in and Biden won by taking about 2/3s of the votes. Now, if I was going to try to cheat, I wouldn't want it to be so rampant it could be seen anywhere - so MA is NOT a place I would cheat in. There's no benefit. Only half of the liberal voters have to show up and I win. About 2/3 of the registered voters turned up in this state. This seems to hold true for most of the states where you would expect either a Trump or Biden win - like Texas has 11M out of 16M registered voters that showed up...and Trump won. So in the places where fraud makes little sense because it would be unnecessary or required to be so over-the-top to be effective that it would raise suspicions, we have 2/3 turnout pretty reliably.

But in states that could go either way, Trump wins almost all of the districts that "don't matter" - but the one district that has a large population suddenly has a 90% turnout and turns the entire state.

Again, If I were going to cheat and wanted to keep it infrequent enough to avoid detection - I would pick swing states, and then pick the single opportunities that were big enough to change the entire state. It would be rather obvious is I was stacking the votes in an area that had 3,000 registered voters and my guy won by 4500 votes.

It's just very suspicious it seems...Madison I would expect to go liberal, yes. Dane County has voted for the liberal for who knows how long, it's like MA. But to get a 90% when all the other areas have a 66% typical turn out and for that to be just enough to turn the entire state, just barely....well, that's interesting. It isn't that liberals are just better voters...because the 66% holds true in the liberal strongholds. It's only the questionable areas that suddenly have liberals who love voting.

Wouldn’t you be more likely to vote in a state where you knew your vote truly counted? I mean, a vote for Trump in California is pissing in the wind so meh why bother. But a vote for Trump in a battleground could truly matter. The margin in NV is like 8k votes last I checked.
 
Maine (my state) is interesting in that it splits the way it allocates its total electoral votes of 4.
2 of them go to the statewide winner, while 1 is allocated to the winner of each of our 2 districts. Nebraska is the only other state that does similar.

This resulted in 3 electoral votes for Biden and 1 for Trump in Maine. At least I can take comfort in the fact that my state contributed a little bit of something good ;)

Regardless, I think I should probably start drinking now..

Hey man - wanted to genuinely apologize if you think I'm the type of guy who only cares about his own fiscal situation. I vote for the people who I think will take care of the largest amount of others. I've come to the conclusion long ago that Bush, Obama, Trump, [insert whoever] doesn't impact me personally much.

So I look for things like new jobs with green energy, competitive healthcare to drive down cost of private insurance, cheaper drugs, etc.

One can argue whether they think I'm completely misguided and in some ways, I'm sure I am - but I promise you I vote with my fellow Americans in mind. If I thought $10/gallon was possible or that others would suffer while I thrived...I would not sleep at night knowing I voted for that outcome.

Not sure why they'd be any higher under Biden vs Obama & Trump though?

Looks like oil has steadily gone down as we've focused on energy independence, mining our own oil responsibly, and renewable investments. Solar & window are literally becoming competitive as we speak - it could be a new age of manufacturing jobs, quality labor, and environmentally friendly outcomes. Maybe I'm suffering from severe naivety but that sounds like a win win if it's executed properly.

Along with gobbling buying out smaller businesses and many mom and pops stores shutting down, certainly some people and groups became far more wealthy and powerful under the Dump regime.

I could picture gas prices going up and moving away from energy dependency.

As we saw in Cali, they couldnt even provide enough power at times for Californians and the Governor told everybody to just suck it up. And damn, energy is expensive there!

Keep in mind, the Senate and House races are ones to still watch that can slow down Indian President Kamela's policies getting pushed.

biden has executive order to undo all the restrictions that trump lifted....here in indiana gas reached $4.25 a gal during obama, today it was $1.89.
 
I think I am more disturbed with the fact that 70m Americans looked at a man that belongs on a sex offender registry not a ballot. They said to themselves I know this guy fondles little children. I know this guy is so lost in the sauce he has no idea where he is. A man with 5 decades of corruption in politics. And they still pulled the lever for this loser.

Biden will (likely) win, and soon after be impeached. Kamala Harris will be our first non-black woman president and this nation will look back on this election with nothing but regret.
