Boom. There it is. The REAL risk that we might have Joe Biden as our next president. Our nation has become stupid. The fact this is even considered a talking point or argument is, frankly, intellectually pathetic.
Don't be a liberal. Don't ignore facts just because they don't fit the narrative you want to believe. This is the way of thinking that liberals follow - they will point out all the perceived flaws on the other side but ignore the same flaws in their own side. Trump is a racist (with no evidence). Biden (with evidence of racism) is a good guy. Or as Biden says, "Truth over facts".
To believe that there are suddenly 180,000 deaths and say that 171,800 of had co-morbidities so Covid didn't kill them is moronic. How logical is the following:
"Well, he had lung cancer, but they had asthma so the cancer didn't kill him."
"Well, he had a genetic heart defect - he was going to die anyway. His obesity wasn't a factor."
"He had cancer and was going to die anyway. That gunshot wound had nothing to do with his death."
Co-morbidities cause complications when you get sick and make it more likely you will die from another sickness. It is no secret and has been the concern since the beginning. And guess what, there IS NO AT RISK MINORITY here. There is an AT RISK MAJORITY. Over 70% of our country is overweight, 40% is obese. That is a big number of people with a major co-morbidity. Almost 1/3 of our country has high blood pressure. Add in people who are normal weight with diabetes, auto-immune diseases, etc. - The idea of an "at risk" group is a fallacy.
And that's just talking death rates. The evidence shows significant immunological, cardiovascular and neurological impacts to people who catch this, even if they seem to be asymptomatic. Death is only one issue here.
Also, can you explain to me, exactly, what rights were taken away from you?
This should actually be considered a strength for Trump. He did a tremendous job of walking a very fine line - he locked down with minor impact on anyone's constitutional rights, and tried to get the country open and running again, even during the worst of it.
Restaurants and movie theaters, etc. are not constitutional rights. Businesses are allowed to run in service of society - not to its detriment. You don't have the right to open any business you want, anywhere you want. If you believe that, try opening up a restaurant at your house. Hell, in most towns, landscapers can't even store their trucks at their own house. Why? Because that use will impact the people around them negatively. You cannot run a business that unreasonably has a negative impact on people who are not patrons of the business.
In the meantime, I feel it hard to believe your rights have been very trampled. I live in New England - in one of the most liberal states in the country. I can only own a 10 round magazine for a gun that has to be on an "approved' list. New England is one of the hardest hit areas of the country. At no point in time was Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowes, any grocery store, or even a fast food restaurant inaccessible to me.
So if you want to talk about misrepresentation - how about misrepresenting the shutdown and it's impact on our "rights'?
For god sake, we're republicans. Aren't we all in on our generators, guns, ammo and bugout bags? Aren't we prepared for self-reliance? And we're going to cry when we can't go to a restaurant? This world has become twisted.
