in 2018 assaults against police officers resulted in 18,005 injuries...that was 2018, imagine what that number will be for 2020...

Indeed. The criminals and violent citizens of this country are far scarier and more threatening than our police could ever be. Never has this been more true than now.

I agree that we need law enforcement reform in this country, but not in the way most people would think. I believe we need to give our police more freedom to use potentially deadly force in situations of violent crimes and the resistance of arrest. Obviously, criminals have not been all that threatened by police for quite some time. If they were, they wouldn’t be committing crimes.

Now that the police are feeling handcuffed themselves, we need to completely reverse that mentality and show people who act like they are above the law that there is zero tolerance. This includes the “peaceful” protestors/rioters that are sacrificing the safety of all races.

Crime should have devastating and severe consequences. Criminals should be in fear of their life 24/7.

crime is going to go up-way up...this is bad in the short run, but good for long term if it gets trump re-elected.

democrats are retarded to have supported a war on cops-they see it now, but it's too late. i see even suburban white women who voted against trump putting their safety above hate for trump.

Exactly.

There‘s an abundance of repeat criminals out there. If there isn’t an element of fear behind the enforcement of law- then it‘s of little value. Unfortunately, it’s just the way it is. Many of these people have no value for their own life, yet make it their sole mission to devastate the lives of others.

it's amazing how much risk police take in arresting criminals, then they are out on bail an hour later, and then prosecutors refuse to prosecute. i blame democrats 100%.
 
You guys are funny, and it isn't like Jiggzz needs me defending him, but I do feel like saying he was a bad cop is a bit over the line. He served his people and I would never attack anyone's honest service to others. He is also coming from a place of good intentions, and it is fine to disagree - I do somewhat - but he is generally a reasonable adversary and while he is taking it pretty well, I just wanted to say that.

He can be pretty irritating though :)

Youd probably get in with flying colors in the US though. Just answer every question about how youd deal with crime with "I'd shoot them" and they'll promote you to captain right there and then

i like @Jiigzz and he is taking it well...but he is wrong to compare police work in NZ to policing here.

and i don't think he even understands what BLM represents and stands for---i challenged him to look into BLM before saying he would protest with them-i hope he does this, i think he will be a little surprised....but mostly i am totally blown away that someone as smart as he is would automatically stand with a radical extreme group like BLM before knowing just what they are...

BLM is a decentralized movement. You can stand with its principles while condoning the violence.

In the same vane, I would stand with Hong Kong protesters.

The right to protest is important. Not all the protests are protests, I've already said this 100x ITT.
 
Neither do I, if it is a genuine fear. I've said that 100x already as well.

But people ITT are saying criminals should fear for their lives 24/7. That's all crime. Fraud, embezzlement, theft, etc regardless of whether it is even violent.

Trump has obstructed witnesses which is a crime. Should he fear being shot by a cop? He obtained evidence via Russians, which is conspiracy. That's a crime. If we shooting criminals, start at the top.

I've never said theres never been any riots or looting, only that the right to protest should be protected.

People were protesting anti 5g here, I dont agree with it but it's their right.

I’m not saying it should happen every time, but people who resist arrest should know that it‘s a reasonable possibility as things escalate. It shouldn’t be scrutinized to the level it has been or turned into a racial injustice for no apparent reason.

I didn’t even know that was happening, but yes....they probably should!

I think there are several layers to the protests/riots etc which I will just summarize as this:

1) BLM protestors that put a sign on their front lawn and maybe head down to their local town or city hall to hold a sign for a few hours on 1 or 2 occasions. They really have no idea what they are even doing or what impact it may have = peaceful protests.

2) People who repetitively attend local protests and try to impose themselves and their beliefs on others. Sometimes in a bullying/threatening fashion.

3) People who take things to the extreme and incite violence, vandalism, looting, arson etc..

Even category 1 encourages the continuation and keeps the embers burning for the people in category 2 and 3. That’s why it is all destructive and needs to be put to an end for the greater good of everyone.

they should take a page from Martin Luther King's book. MLK preached against violence and was a true believer in peaceful protest.

RFK, or for you youngsters robert f kennedy was in my home town of indianapolis the day MLK's assasination was announced. RFK used the words and teachings of MLK in his speech announcing Kings death---many credit kennedy for preventing the rioting and looting that happened in every large city in the US from happening in indianapolis.

BLM for doesnt seem to give a krap about MLK, before you know it, you will get persecuted by these people if you wear a MLK shirt in public....sounds crazy but Ive seen alot of crazy lately.

I wouldn’t take it personally, I just think people are tired of all the bullshit going on in this country in terms of racial justice and police enforcement matters. It’s a good sign for this country when people voice that they are pro law enforcement.
