So for the past 13 years I've been self-treating my adrenals with 20-25mg of hydrocortisone ramped down throughout the day. I ran out a couple weeks back and just kept going about my business. Decided to see how I felt, and I feel fine. Never thought that would happen after being on it for so long. I'm thinking of staying off it now due to it's effects on water retention, etc. Pretty crazy. Thought for sure I must've hindered my adrenals' natural output quite a bit after being on for so long.

So many people have been on HC from the nonsense of the internet and have been brain washed to think they will be on it for life. Once the stress has past then body can regulates on its own.
Remember there is a honey moon effect and 4 weeks can come back around to smack people in the face. My adrenals just crashed to that of just before Addison’s from gut infections sneaking up and other emotional triggers from infant PTSD. Took my adrenals cortex and licorice root then rebounded with in hours.

I started hydrocortisone years ago because of you to be honest!! You and Janz had amazing posts about isocort and then hydrocortisone supplementation and if I never came across them, I never would’ve started! It had been very useful but doesn’t seem like I may need it anymore.

Yes and at the time it may have been needed. My whole philosophy of adrenals has changed considerable over the years. With in past 5 years not one doctor’s mutual case needed it. What we have learned about Metabolic pathways, gene expression and the gut biome exceeds traditional medicine by 30 years or more. Small group of researchers have isolated specific cluster of genes in the immune system that start the response for just about ever chronic illness. When you choke off the big three everything doesn’t steal does it trigger. Can not say much now due to confidentiality

I was just surprised that I hadn’t really suppressed my adrenals. I had no signs of suppression whatsoever coming off, and I had been using 25mg hydrocortisone daily for over 10 years (and also stress dosed whenever necessary). Happy camper here.

Yes there is a lot of misinformation out there.
I have been research gene expression and gut biome in its relation to endocrine and the immune system. It’s freaken insane and mind blowing when you get down to the deeper pathways associate with KEGG and glycans. The stuff medical researcher are over looking and hidden connections are very disturbing..

Think I may pick some more up though, for days I’m lacking sleep, times when I’m sick, and for use on-cycle. That’s when it helped me the most.

Good advice, not always easy to accomplish, hence the crutch, 20-30mg hydrocortisone early in the morning.
Think of Circadian Rhythm.
See the sunrise for 20-30 minutes.
Do not go to the gym, exercise outdoors, rain, shine, snow.
Gym, office, house all have bad artificial lights. hurts
