That looks incredible! It’s not even finished and it’s already so much of an improvement! I’m really happy for you that things are finally coming together (your wife looks like she’s feeling a. It better as well!). Nobody deserves some good fortune more than you for all I know you do (and would do) for others

Thanks @booneman77 , we got a tiny bit of water in the house last night with all the rain. Not bad at all but bad enough that I am going to have to do something about it. With the current developments I am probably going to have to fix that drainage issue myself. Also another area of the roof needs repaired. Rather than piece meal it together I am asking them for a quote for the whole pitched section of the roof. So that will be another chunk of change and probably another loan... Hate the unexpected stuff like this but hey it will be a LONG TIME before i need to do any work on it once done. I could be down about it and yeah it ruined my night last night. I already had to start removing some of the other work I was going to have them do in order to make room for this... I know the contractor is bummed because he isn't making much at all on this compared to what he would have if I got the other cosmetic work done. He barely has overhead on that but most of this money will go to the roofer. Actually might end up taking the job of painting the outside of the house back away from him to make up some cash...

They got the range hood in yesterday and the new oven hooked up but not put into it's slot, they had some questions about how I wanted the shelf I had them build above it to set the microwave into. It will be a little high but we don't have small kids in the house anymore so everyone who matters will be able to use it no problem. :)

Anyway, thanks I am very excited and ready for this all to be done. At least to have the inside of my house back together and the people gone. If I have to paint the outside due to budget I will suck it up and do so but hoping that isn't the case. Mentally I just need this to be over at this point...

Thanks HGP. They are finally starting painting this week. The walk in steam shower is almost done, he should be finishing the tile in there today and then the guy comes to measure for the glass.

They finished the fireplace and it looks amazing, very excited to see the finished product when everything is said and done.

I think I am going to go ahead and try to get back in the game this coming week. I am finally getting the itch now!!! I need to dedicate some time this week to getting my garage set up enough to at least do a minimalist type of workout. Probably just generate some blood flow and little challenge to the connective tissue to get collagen production back up and getting things ready to train. I have still been stretching my ankle out and getting better ROM. I think doing some things with weight added will go a long way toward functional mobility.

Still alive, just busy, stressed, and frustrated. Wanted to try to get in some sort of shape before my Mother get's here in 3 weeks. Going to try to manage clean the physique up a bit before they arrive.

Been in the finishing up process for like 2 weeks now and it seems it is just going longer and longer at this point. Unfortunately the contractor didn't manage his money and running out on cash for labor and is now trying to cut corner to get out of there which is actually costing him more work as I make him redo everything he cuts corners on... So it is becoming a bit of a true nightmare at this point. Literally days away from completion but with his labor situation we are half expecting him to walk and holding out on the minimal cash that is left to pay on the job until completion in order to make sure he stays and finishes including the post clean up.

Like I said I am going to try to get in some better shape in the next 3 weeks. I have a FUGTON on my plate but with some planning and a little bit of @BOSSMAN grit I think I can make a difference in that time. Probably won't be on here too much during that time but will post up some pics in 3 weeks. Thinking I might start some Dermatren during the day while fasting and then hit up 10mg SD with my workouts and try to lift something each day... Shouldn't be anything amazing but just enough boost to get myself looking reasonable... I am so small right now. Still around 200 but softer. So really just trying to avoid any further muscle loss while trying to tighten back up. If I get some regrowth out of it bonus but this is just focused as a quick clean up process for right now. If things are still going well I may extend and add to it after but for right now the goal is just lean out and not lose any muscle.

Yeah, and I am over the time to focus on other things and ready to focus more on this. The next 20 days will be "fun" in that I am going to see what I can do without going extreme on the diet. I am going to go lower carb with carbs only around training, fasting will be done most days, and I plan to do something almost every day unless it is an extremely active day which I will have some of those as well but will probably at a minimum do something resistance based on those days.
Construction is always a biatch. Time for cortisol control...
Yeah, things got wild real quick, and all of the sudden my body started backsliding much more quickly and I knew that was a big part of it too!

Got out in my garage last night for about 2 hours of working and moving stuff around trying to make space to workout. I think I edged out just enough to get some work in. Still lots of dust and nonsense but I can work around it. Gonna need a shower post workout anyway...

I started my DermaTren today @ 100mg during the day. I have decided to run my Manifested at half dose for this month. Manifested was Xcel Sport Nutritions monster for a bit. Each cap says it has 30mg DMZ, 30mg Epistane, 150mg furazadrol, some Laxogenen. I never truly believed those dose claims to be accurate or I wouldn't even entertain the idea of running it now. However like I said it will be at half the prescribed dose, and only in the evening. I don't want to imagine the sides of running it at 2 caps a day...

The DMZ should carry over a bit into the fasting with the DermaTr3n and keep muscle on my frame. Hell at those doses if I get in 2000 cals a day I KNOW I will grow.

I may even take some before pics just to see how far I come but in all honesty, I simply don't want to see them at this point. So if I do I will probably opt not to bother looking at them until I have made some progress.

No doubt, I want to see where I came from but I already know I am not happy with my current situation. I don't need a picture to tell me that right now but will be great for a comparison afterwards...

On another note it looks like the contractor has walked on me. I am glad I did not give him any more money. This is the 3rd day he has said he would be back and is not showing up... I texted him to ask if he planned to come back or not. If he does not respond by this afternoon then I am informing him that he is fired and if he comes back on my property it will be criminal trespassing... this crap is ridiculous!!! My mother is going to be here in 2.5 weeks and there is a lot left to get done. Going to have to take the rest of the week off to complete a lot of the work...

Well guys, the saga continues... I ended up having to fire the contractor for lying and telling me his workers were at the house working when they were not. Then promising to be there the next day then texted me from Dallas saying he took another job and wouldn't be back for a week to finish mine. So I ended up letting him go and taking Wed-Friday off to try to get most of the work done. We got most everything set back up first then are going back in the rest of the week to do the touch ups. However now my house looks like a home again.

I stopped the intended cycle rather quickly. With what was going on at the house and the frustration level of having to do it myself and being completely overwhelmed with the mess they made of my house; I was getting unreasonably irritable and had a hard time putting a cap on it. So I decided to cut it short as I was not going to put my family through me being that irritable especially when the situation was not going to be any less stressful.

I always say that using gear is a responsibility, and that those who find themselves in a situation that has them behaving poorly and not able to correct it should ALWAYS stop the cycle if they can not improve the situation. SO that is exactly what I did.

I have managed to lift 3 times since Wednesday, and although I have not done cardio, I was on the move nonstop for the last 5 days working on the house in some form or fashion. So just going to work out and stay active while eating reasonably and see where I am when Mom gets here. I have way too many things going on to be pressuring myself to lean up a lot over the next two weeks. So instead going to use the gym for my stress relief, and focus on finishing up the house as we go and not add unnecessary pressure since I have so much going on. I think I can make reasonable progress this way without piling on while trying to complete the rest of the work on the house myself.

As of right now, we got most everything back in it's place, so tonight I will pick one paint color, and go through and do all the touch ups with that color, and do so for each color of paint on a night of the week. I will probably try to do this on an EOD schedule so I can squeeze in workouts too. I also need to study up quickly on blending in some texture because there are a few spots where they plastered over something that was to be repaired and I need to sand it and then put texture before repainting. I know it isn't hard to do, but it is something I am going to have to learn to complete the job.

On a good note, I feel like I might be leaner than I was middle of last week.

Had a good workout in the garage last night. Just went out got warmed up and started working. I kept the pace very fast and increased weight with every set until reps had dropped considerably and rest between rounds had to get longer in order to keep the reps above 12. Reps were anywhere from probably 35 down to 12 and performed with 2-4 second contractions in both directions.

7 or 8 Rounds performed as a circuit: Chest Press done with intention - Wide Grip Pull Downs done with intention, Leg Press done with intention in both directions.

When I say intentions in both directions on the leg press I mean that on the way out not only did I press but try to make my feet slide up on the platform making it feel like a combination of a leg press and a leg extension. Then on the way back I did the reverse trying to pull my feet toward the floor which made it feel a lot like a SHELC mixed with a leg press.

By the end I was completely soaked then I went inside and spent the next hour manually scrubbing my floors with a scrub brush on a broom handle. So that was pretty vigorous and I was huffing and puffing so I can count that is some conditioning too.

So I am not sure but I think I mentioned I originally intended to get a pool table but then money got too tight with the construction stuff. Well as a treat to myself and the family since we have to work so hard to complete the house I decided to make some lemonade with all these lemons... I found a guy who buys commercial pool tables in bulk when they are being replaced or if a place closes and then restores and sells them as a side hustle. So tonight I will have a nice Black Brunswick 8 foot pool table that has brand new bumpers / rails, pockets, and I paid for the upgrade to the masonic gray felt which is the top of the line and I wanted the felt to match the house not stand out bright green like a sore thumb... He was also telling me which others had mentioned touse the masonic because it was what the pros use. If you want to have awesome control on using english on the ball or doing mase shots then apparently it is what you should get. So I am very excited about it. What is awesome is that with all of that being top of the line brand new gear on it I am still only paying 950 with professional delivery and set up. Never been awesome at pool just good enough to be competitive with most people who play but far from a shark. We will see if that remains the case with a pool table and access to youtube for tips now... ;)

Nutrition is relaxed IF style right now, but definitely in a major deficit. I got in around 1600 cals, 140p, 50f, 145c in my 2 meals yesterday. I will try to get in a little more than that today but not too worried about it. I can feel my muscles responding and filling back in even in the deficit. My body just remembers it wants to be bigger... not complaining though. Just happy shoulders are squaring back off some and arms feel a bit more full from more consistent training and probably a little to do with 3-4 days of orals last week.

I am probably going to end up selling that bottle of Manifested, that crap is strong as a mofo, and I only used about 6 caps of it. I don't want the DMZ. I have decided that I want any orals to be short half life and only taken at night. I really enjoyed my results and how I felt doing that on Var and then again with a little bit of SD it still went well. So gonna stick to the 8 hour half life stuff at night when it can do the most good and effects my mood the least because I am sleeping.

Yeah, that is what I am expecting. I am definitely going to build a table top for it, or possibly at some point just get a ping pong table top for it and use a table cloth to cover that if we need extra eating spots. With 2 bars and a giant dining room table we should be good to go and not have to cover it very often at all...
People love a good crack at your balls!
Yeah they do! Nothing like having your balls racked multiple times in a night...

Had a nice conditioning session last night. Did some sled work for a bit then a little pump work for shoulders and arms.
Performance Details
1 Arm Sled Rows, each rep from dead stop with ribcage held low to force midback activation and contraction. Followed by what I will call Falling Flamingo Lunges... Basically to help engage the ankles and glutes for stability I am using some negative explosive force to jolt the muscles into reacting. So I stand balanced for a second or two on one leg with my knee up but not holding my leg against the other leg for support, then I fall into a stretched split lunge stopping the acceleration holding in a balanced stretch for a second or two, step up to the center in a raised knee position, then repeat with other leg for walking lunges.

General Warm Up 5 minutes on elliptical
TRX Alphabet x 3 sets of 10-15

Alternating 1 Arm Dead Stop Rope Sled Rows - 50 yards
Falling Flamingo Lunges - 50 yards - 4 rounds, no rest
, - these probably took longer than you would think with all of the pausing and holding positions in the lunges.

Pump Super Set shoulders and arms - Shoulder Press perform middle 3/5 of rom for constant tension on both shoulders and triceps.
Preacher Curls 85x rpe9, 85xrpe9, 55x rpe9 x 3 sets Rep ranges 12-25
Shoulder Press - 85x rpe9, 85xrpe9, 55x rpe9 x 3 sets Rep Ranges 20-35

Mace Swings
- 5 per direction and then shoulders were just done!!!!

I loved this workout, it may or may not look like much but it hit everything I wanted to hit and did a damn good job of it. My glutes were lit up like a sumbitch! My right glute was already feeling a little sore, and was burning like my biceps do deep into a pump set. I was also completely soaked when i went back inside.

Guy called me yesterday about my pool table, he had to special order the gray felt due to it's popularity not much available locally. So it will end up being delivered tonight or tomorrow. Hoping for tonight so I can just go home and play tomorrow. :)

I can feel my body responding to the increased training. I don't think it is going to take long to get in decent shape if I keep this up.

Nutrition was better than yesterday too.
Fast Breaker - 4 oz beef sirloin fajitas on corn tortilla , 4 oz grilled chicken breast in half bowl of wendy's chili - estimated macros 66p, 15f, 22c

Post Workout - 12oz sirloin steak, 100g saltine crackers, 2 tbsp Peanut Butter, 2.5 cups of milk 60 grams of whey...

Daily Total - 242p, 87f, 137c - 2299 calories

Dont let the pool table turn into a laundry table
@BOSSMAN Oh that won't happen, I would sell it if that ended up being the case... Plus after spending the extra on the bad ass felt I sure don't want to be the person who thinks that sitting ANYTHING on that table other than pool playing stuff is acceptable... Only other things acceptable are if I buy a ping pong table top, or build a table topper to use it for a secondary table.

LMAO!!! No doubt he still gets to make a decision or two every once in a while.

Well when it rains it poors, literally. We had a major storm and I went out to my car this morning to see that the basketball goal was on the ground in front of my car... Got blown over and the rim smashed into the hood scratching and also crinkling that metal up. Have a feeling that might end up being a new hood... Like I needed to lose another 500 right now on a deductible...

At least we got the pool table before this expense popped up or I would be doing the responsible thing and paying off the deductible with the pool table money. Speaking of, we are loving it. I have only played about 10 games but my daughter has been playing / practicing almost nonstop since we got it.

Didn't get a workout in yesterday, had something going on with my gut and stayed home sick. Hell I was in bed all day, was hoping I might feel well enough to do a little around the house but that never happened. Tonight we knock out some more touch ups. I finished blending in the patches in the wall and will go ahead and start painting touch ups now. Only 9 days until Mom get's here but it doesn't HAVE to be done when she gets here. Just has to be close enough to be nice.

I think what I am going to do is just go in and blast some hard work for 15-30 minutes then start painting so I can get a lil something in. I really wish this past weekend had been able to dedicate some more time to touch ups but we got so much more cleaned up. Had to go get one of those trash bags from home depot that you can fill with up to 8 yards of trash to get rid of the last bit of junk in the house. There will be no clutter left when we are all done!!! Anyway, we are down to the final touch ups and no reason to think it can not be completed or mostly completed by the time Mom gets here on the 3rd.

Sorry about the smashed hood - wishing you Godspeed with the final detail work!
Thanks, and whatever... it is just life, sometime sometimes you hit the goal post and sometimes it hits you...

Not much left to do and I went ahead and took the beginning of the week off next week to alleviate the feeling of pressure and allow me to get some workouts in as well since not as rushed. House is really looking good right now and most things that still need to be done are not obvious outside of the blue masking tape marking them on the wall.

Been looking into some strong man training, watching @Hyde's (you) as you already know lol and now @jswain34 's log I have really just thought that it looked like so much fun. So as I come back into things I will be trying to implement some of the movements and what not. I am looking at a couple programs now and trying to decide which one looks like the best one to break into the training with. Obviously saying that more for others info since you helped me out on the programs.

Oh yeah, my son came over last night and told me he was moving to Switzerland for a while. His company offered him a bigger chunk of change to go work at the home base. So even though no workout last night it was well spent hanging out with my son. He is leaving tomorrow.

That is very exciting for your son! I hope it’s an awesome experience for him.

My recommendation with the strongman implements is to keep them on the lighter side for a while so you can focus on learning technique and getting the body used to moving through multiple planes of motion again. It is not friendly transitioning from traditional bodybuilding and powerlifting that requires no athleticism.

Basically try to get used to moving for a while. I am just beginning to do this myself. It’s the worst.

Yeah, I went through that when training the Underground Strength Stuff which as of late has been my favorite training style. Lots of carry over from that and this type of training too. We did lots of carrying and odd object stuff, but also concentrated more on explosive movements. So I am hoping that this is something I will really enjoy. Like you said though, I am going to have to keep myself from pushing too hard, natural athletic ability is going to need to take a back seat to me conditioning myself to that type of workout at first so I don't create more issues or imbalances.

I have a VERY hard time holding back on the throttle as you know when I say I turn down the intensity it is still often higher than a lot of peoples. I used to only consider that a strength but now I consider it both a strength and a hazard.

Natural intensity is def both a blessing and a curse... if you don’t check it at times it’s easy to get carried away and burn out or worse yet get hurt (and sometimes push through that too ha)

That’s what I’m warning against. His strength in one plane from years of lifting will be higher than his ability in others, so going heavy for a while isn’t advised. Also in general some events really shouldn’t be pushed 10/10 very often.

Yep been there and done that.

Yeah that is one of the things I will have to keep in mind. That kind of intensity is only needed for testing and competition. Just have to remind myself of that on the reg. Growing up we just worked our ass off. If we could do more or push harder then we did until we failed. The did it some more to make sure we got the job done. There was a period of years that I went to failure then multiple drop sets on almost every exercise. I got great progress no doubt but I am sure I put a lot of wear and tear on myself as well. Either way that much of intense training even lowering it I still end up getting pretty intense regardless. So things like event work will most definitely start much lower resistance with probably a little longer carries or holds so it is both conditioning and skill practice.

I mean doing a triple dropset on barbell rows - you’re not risking much. You go to the limit on a max keg load and I’ve seen guys fall backwards and smash their foot or knee with the keg, or pass out and risk whacking their head.

Oh crap brother that hoop causing damage is no crap luck. :/

Hello everyone, just popping on to give a quick update. I ended up working on the house until my parents came. We had a really nice visit and they helped with some of the minimal stuff. The house is looking nice and the pool table has been a great addition. I didn't end up working out at all while they were at the house. I made sure there was no time wasted on other things and spent all of my time with them. Was a wonderful visit.

Have done some walking earlier in the week and a little bit of body weight stuff. I got the garage pretty clean, still stuff in there but I was able to do a nice "full body" workout last night.

Nothing to write home about, but enough to know I had done some good work. Did some squats finally and they went well was really focusing on form and glute activation.

SSB Squat - worked up to 165@7 x 3 sets and 165@RPE8 on the last set. Started with some decent rep numbers but work capacity and my stabilizers were getting torched! Did two sets with first half hands free to really work the stabilizers.

Arnold Press - 35xRPE7 x 2, 55x12, 12, 10

Wide Grip Pull Ups 4 sets of 3
Normal Grip 3 sets of 3
Chin Ups 2 sets of 3

DB Side / Rear Lateral Raise - 15xRPE8 x 4 sets

I am planning on doing something tonight as well. Not sure what exactly probably some carries and stuff like that. I also entered a step contest at work where we have to get 420000 steps in 6 weeks but I entered it almost a week late so I have to make up some steps too. 10,000 a day gets me to a level of wellness points that will get me a $300 check at the end of the year and the step count tops out at 15000 a day. So I am going to have to have several 15000 days to get caught up to earn those points. Wish I had checked my email on vaca to enter it earlier. Either way it is giving me more motivation to get things done. I will have to work to fit the walks in to get this, not like @BOSSMAN who doubles 10,000 on several occasions due to his business. Then again he works 20 hours a day too!

As far as goals, I am kind of up in the air about what I want to do so I will be working on general strength and fitness doing whatever I feel I need and adding in things I simply want to do along the way. I am a bit indecisive about if I want to run a cycle again or not. Thinking I am going to get back into decent shape first then I can make a better decision. I keep saying I want to get myself decently lean at around 185-190 and I am pretty sure i can get there without too much trouble from here. However I imagine I might get down to that and feel small which I don't want. I am about 5'7 according to my last measurement so I believe that would leave me feeling like I am in a great spot!

I am going to see if I can get into this soft tissue injury place called Airrosti to see if they can help out with my rotator cuff, I think I might have a slight tear or something else causing some issues and hoping this can knock it out instead of dealing with the idea of surgery or something.

What up @MrKleen73 good to see things are going well and you are getting caught up. 110 degrees here this weekend. The grunt work is over for now, just maintenance and grass cutting. I've had a really good season up to date. Haven't worked out in 2 weeks myself. But maintaining "I guess" . I have the attitude at this point, "if it doesn't get done during the week...it will have to wait until next week"! I need weekends off at this point for family, friends, vacation etc...and that's what I'm gonna do! (Unless a nice hit comes about 1-2k take home pay) and I can make exceptions.
So question???? Are we just using the pool table for pool???
