Cordyceps > Peak02 for endurance

I really like Peak02 for its ability to increase workout endurance. It provides a good noticeable boost in the gym. So I am not knocking the product. I just feel that the Cordyceps in it is what’s really doing the work. The product has a good quality Cordyceps in it and that’s what brings the endurance enhancing aspect.

I have used ALL of the mushrooms that are in Peak02 on their own. Not one (besides Cordyceps) of them made a noticeable difference during my workout.

Cordyceps on its own gives me the same if not better workout endurance as Peak02 does in my experience.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the topic?
 
I love Peak02 and take it everyday so anything that can enhance the endurance effects from it is certainly a winner in my book
 
Peak02 is a winner in my book too, but have you tried Cordyceps solo to be able to compare?

I have not. I've been intrigued to trying them out for quite some time but have not come across anything too interesting thus far. What have you tried?
 
I've taken both PeakO2 and Cordygen NanO2 Elite (From MST). From my personal experience I found minimal to negligible endurance boost from PeakO2. Cordygen on the other hand had a noticeable increase consistently for atleast 2 months and then leveled off. My 400m runs are usually at 1 min and 50 secs best after 2 months of cordygen my timing improved to 1.20 mins The other side effect I got from cordygen was the raging libido boost to the point of being an absolute distraction.
 
Poison is a big fan of Cordyceps and I know he seems to like MST products more.

I haven’t taken any of the newer MST products, but have used some other Cordyceps before and prefer PeakO2.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either (MST has been doing this for awhile, I’ve wanted to try their one with Actigin in it, but it’s not easy to find).

A couple things I’d keep in mind is PeakO2 has studies backing it and the benefits may be beyond just the Cordyceps (the other mushrooms probably play a role in its adaptogenic benefits).

Very true the other mushrooms in the blend do have some value like adaptogen, immunity and even for memory (in higher doses). As far as improving exercise performance Cordyceps is the one doing all the work IMO.

That’s what I’m curious of as well. What’s a good reputable Cordyceps product?
I have never come across a better looking offering than the the MST (Millenium Sport Technologies) products..

As far as comparing Peak O2 to Cordyceps, I have not used either religiously enough to pick a favorite..

I have tried Cordyceps, reishi, turkey tail, shiitake and lions mane all solo at different times over the past two years. That is all of the mushrooms used in Peak02 besides the King Trumpet. The only one endurance/performance enhancing one was Cordyceps.

Sure, the others have benefits outside of the gym. They all help with immunity and lions mane is good for memory at higher doses then what’s in Peak02.

I haven’t tried Genius Mushroom. I would think that would be good, but I don’t have any experience with the product.

I enjoyed the endurance from MTS Cordygen Vo2 Ultra product.

I am currently just eating fresh organic Cordyceps Mushroom at the moment and still noticing the endurance in the gym. It doesn’t taste terrible and it’s the less expensive this way.

Yes, they do! That’s how I was able to try the other mushrooms in Peak02. They use to sell a sampler mushroom pack. Anyway, Cordyceps is the only one with the exercise endurance properties. Their 10:1 Cordyceps extract is the best.

Believe it or not this is the current Cordyceps I have been using and having just as good results as I did with Peak02.

I notice the boost from Peak02 too. I am surprised you didn’t get anything from when you tried Cordyceps solo.

How much did you take? I take 2grams preworkout.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I haven’t tried the MTS Nan02 Elite yet. It looks really good.
 
I like peak o2 for properties other than endurance. I am wary of taking it around weight training honestly though, 5g or so of cordyceps pre workout is one of the biggest game changers that I have ever used when it comes to giant set workouts or 20 rep squat protocols.
 
Yessir, I have used both, 0 comparison. One dose nano2, and endurance was out of this world. Continuous use? Even better. Cordygen5? All day results every day. Phenomenal.
 
For sure, the two I named are just the extremes, one super fast acting, the other more of an all day effect. All mst cordyceps products are top tier, the best on the market.
 
Real mushrooms sources from Nammex which is top tier. I use their lions mane daily and will have to try their cordyceps. I’ve always thought that peak O2 was most likely powered by cordyceps doing all the heavy lifting

Cordyceps should increase carb utilization and reduce fat utilization, which should provide some anaerobic performance benefits if it is strong enough.

Good point. I still believe it’s Cordyceps on its own doing the work. I have tried lions mane (one of the mushrooms in the Peak02 blend) long term and the others I have used, but not long term. Lions mane I did in high doses (1.5-4 grams) for the past two years with only a few breaks in there and there is zero endurance boost from that one. It like it for its overall brain health properties. Reishi I have used on multiple occasions and multiple products (Nootropics Depot and Swanson) and it just makes me sluggish and lazy. The ND Red Reishi even started to lower libido for me. I actually hits a good thing there isn’t a big dose of it in Peak02. I didn’t get those side effects from Peak02 though.

1-2 grams with the ND 10:1 powder extract. 1.5 grams was my usual dose with that one. I didn’t try it less than a gram. I haven’t tried their 1:1 powder yet.

Dang that’s a decent bit more expensive than peak02, do they run sales often?
 
Real mushrooms on amazon has a two month supply for $30. They use entire fruiting bodies and aren’t scamming you like other companies like host defense who grow their shrooms on rice

I know it is pretty expensive. They do small sales from time to time, but they never do big sales.

Good news is I am currently using just organic Cordyceps mushrooms and having success with it. I just have to use a little more of it, but the endurance boost is still obvious.
 
See you’ve been around awhile and from what I remember your training seems perfect for these kind of things so it makes me really want to give it a shot.

Sure thing man. I do solely kettlebells and judo, I don't have a gym membership. I do hundreds of swings, Turkish getups, with a 53 and 70lb kb, for reference. So yeah, I seriously notice endurance benefits if they happen.
 
I think it would be helpful if someone that has used any of the mushrooms (besides Cordyceps) in Peak02 could chime in on their experience with them.

Has anyone noticed any boost in exercise endurance with any of these mushrooms besides the Cordyceps?
 
I am sure we won’t be hearing from anyone that has noticed any endurance boost from any of the mushrooms in the Peak02 blend (besides the Cordyceps). I think that helps my point about Cordyceps being the only one doing it.

So all of what I have tried with Cordyceps in it has given me the endurance boost including Peak02. The only difference between the 4 brands I have tried is that the dosage needed varied. Not a big difference in dose either (literally 1 gram extra needed with the whole organic mushroom vs. the extract).

Again, this is just my experience and would love to hear others feedback.
 
I have genius mushrooms through a free promo but haven’t given it a go yet. This thread though has me thinking I will be trying as a Preworkout in the next couple weeks.

In that mushroom blend your bottle would run out really fast to hit 2 grams of Cordyceps. Plus the Reishi in it may have you feeling too calm to workout. Let us know how it goes though.
 
I wasn't going to try for a said dosage, just pop one single one and see if anything earth shattering happens :)

I understand though that "in theory" there should be a greater amount needed of cordyceps. I'd be curious to see how the MST products work when they run their next big sale on the cordy product.

And that’s cool. Peak02 works well and that’s a good price. I would buy that too.

Just know the Cordyceps in the Peak02 is giving you the endurance. The higher you dose it should yield better results.

The one MTS product I tried was really good. Definitely quality cordyceps in there.

Personally, I feel it’s just that the cordyceps dose in Peak02 isn’t high enough. Dosing it higher should work.

I have had success with all the cordyceps I have tried even the it in its rawest form whole mushroom (the taste is a bit funky though and it can mess with my stomach a little). Some needed higher doses then others though.

I wouldn’t regret buying Peak02 especially since you have a good amount of it you can play with the doses and see what works for you. Plus you will be getting some of the added health benefits of the other mushrooms like stronger immune system.

Cordyceps may great for a lot of people and I feel that it is behind a lot of the benefits of Peak 02 but I think that Peak 02 needs to be looked at as a whole and not as just a random mushroom blend if that makes sense. The patent holders obviously felt like the specific combination made sense or a reason or they wouldn't have added the others because Cordyceps is one of, if not the least expensive ingredient in the combination.

From feedback, it seems that a lot of people don't notice a huge difference between a good quality Cordyceps and Peak 02 but that some people do. All things considered equal, I like the studies and data behind Peak 02 and the potential outside of the gym benefits of the other ones in Peak 02.

It totally depends on usage, training duration, etc. Taking cordygen 5 is good for all day use. Nano2 is good for acute benefits, from the first dose.
