Donald Trump running for president

lol...surely you could find something good to say about trump-if you tried really, really hard.

He is most talented at eating the most beautiful chocolate cake with Chinese dictators. Not many can claim that.

nice...Obama comes close-eating popcorn with castro at baseball game after hurricanes

something funny I just read...biden makes a deal with the Clintons, they support him for democratic nominee. biden once nominated chooses Hillary as vice president. upon being elected biden steps down making Hillary president in exchange for $100 million.

hey it's the Clintons, anything is possible.

hillary Clinton-I was robbed....:p

Nope, but if you could name something specifically why I should like him, I'm always open. He's done extreme harm to several fields of science and medicine, both through his words and actions. My honest opinions on him would probably get me a visit if I put it on the internet.

He brought some troops home a while back. That was pretty groovy.

Now you have to say something nice about Hillary. :p
well, she did work to get health care for 1st responders at ground zero. I am definitely NOT for free health care for everyone, but those 1st responders earned and deserved to be taken care of.

Ok. Why no healthcare, though?

They are still dropping like flies in NYC from 9/11 with no health care.

Many had to fight extremely hard to get treated. They were told they had no evidence 9/11 caused them harm. I know about 1/3rd of the Towers were sprayed with asbestos right before the ban on the early 70s among many other issues but anyways this is a long topic.

no FREE health care....I could support income based health care, but if you tell people health care is free you will have people with minor ailments that if it cost them to be there they wouldn't be.

if you have free health care are you in favor of giving a refund to us who are close to retirement and have paid into medicare all of our lives? even after lifelong payments to medicare seniors still have to buy supplemental care-how fair is it to start giving health care away for free?

what about free college, the people who are finally paying off tuition debt are going to feel cheated....you going to give those people a refund?

People going in for minor issues, before they become major issues will save money in the long run. If I had gone in for minor issues my type1 diabetes would have been diagnosed and treated much sooner.

I'd be ok with tax credits for those who've paid into medicare.

I managed to pay off my student loans and I'd have no problem with others not being crushed by that debt.

lol...tax credits for those who've paid into medicare….medicare is already close to broke.

government only health care=doctors pay will be regulated, less people will pursue medicine...soon the government will be decider on who what when and where medical services will be provided. I see seniors being the 1st to have services cut.

Nothing is free. We should just pay 100% taxes and have government manage everything for us. Life would be the perfect utopia.

this is exactly what democrats want, in my honest opinion. and trust me life would not be utopic with government running it.

Not at all. She could have been elected and sat there doing nothing and would still be doing a better job. But again, I'm open to suggestions to anything that he's actually done. He's been too focused on undoing out of spite and ego, rather than trying to lead and actual improve the nation.

Ha! I'm not in favor of anything free, but at least you're going to see some returns. I've accepted that even though I'm forced to pay into the social security welfare program, I'll never see a cent of it. They need to scrap that thing so I can invest on my own.

I don't think doctors go in strictly for the money. The idea that people won't do the things they're passionate about unless they make oodles of money on it always sounds strange to me.

Medicare is only "close to broke" because they keep using the money for things that aren't Medicare...

You would be correct. I work with a lot of freaking MDs and some can go into certain specialties to make a lot, but most just do alright and it's probably far less than you think after you work loans and malpractice insurance into it. The days of becoming an MD simply for the cash are long gone as it has gotten increasingly competitive to get into a medical school and there are far easier routes that will get you more money. Plus insurance companies already dictate what most doctors can charge.

hey, since I've got you here...what do the doctors you talk to think about welfare for all with no private insurance?

I don't think I've seen a difference between docs and non-docs. Just like anybody else, some are in favor of it and some think it's a dumb idea. Most seem to believe that something needs to be done though as insurance companies are usually their biggest barrier. Whether it's time that they can actually spend with their patients or treatment choice, the insurance companies aren't always willing to pay for what the doctor wants to do.

I believe it! I hear stories on both sides. I have oncologists who want to give treatment C for an aggressive cancer, but the insurance company won't pay for it unless they try A and B first...and the patient probably won't live to see B. If you're near a large institution, you have better options and can maybe get into a clinical trial, but if you're out in the middle of nowhere like most people are, you're SOL. I've also seen it with family members who pay into programs their whole life and then have to pay for the extras. My wife's grandmother who recently passed had care that required us to send money monthly to help pay for and they took her house. I'm all for capitalism and not for welfare, but the system has been exploited and needs to be fixed so that patients at least have a chance.

it really is a shame that so many people think medicare is free health care...politicians who say medicare will be free health care should talk to some people actually on medicare….if you don't have supplements and quite a few of them you are not going to get much for free....I am confident my mom would have died years ago if my wife and i had not stepped up to help her--we had the resources to do this but not everyone on medicare has someone willing and able to help with additional costs.

Medicare is like all other insurance: it works great as long as you're giving them money and you never get old or sick.

too bad politicians aren't telling people this TRUTH. medicare is NOT free health care.

And "insurance" is not insurance. Its managed government/lobby socialist health care.

I want to pay doctors cash and buy insurance on the side, thats the way its supposed to be.

If I was able to invest all of the money I've wasted on insurance, medicare, social security, etc, I'd be able to hire a private physician to just follow me around.

Such good posts all around this last page. It’s basically the opposite of politics on Facebook. I agree whole heartily with the issues our healthcare system has. It is unfortunate because skill and resource levels of the American health care system are amazing.

I think most people agree that there is a serious issue. We just don't all agree on how to solve it!

I think many times when we get through all the layers of a debate this usually ends up being the case.

It’s probably a stupid wish but I wish the two party system we have would crumble . When our leaders and the people they represent debated solutions to serious issues I wish they do not have team jerseys.

I still have hope in people, even if social media tries to tell me otherwise lol

I think a lot of people voted for Trump with the thought that it would lead to the parties crumbling or at least that is what more than a few of my friends had wished when they voted for him. However, he seems to have just fallen in with the party system status quo.

Very true. I didn’t vote because I hated the choices honestly. At the end of the day we live in a country where x amount of people will vote republican no matter what, and x amount that will vote Democrat. Very few are registered independent. In a way I don’t blame people for compartmentalizing this because life is busy.

I would just love if people debated ideas. There is so much wrong with both parties.

I am of the school if you would compromise your values for your party you don’t have that strong of values.

I voted for Gayry Johnson....not my favorite personality but thats who I chose.

Republicrats and Demicans are the same pyle of crap primarily the same policies with incremental changes. There really isnt much apart between Dump and Obamo when it comes to most policies. They all run on the same ship, have little internal disputes and dont all get along but end of the day they are the same people primarily on the same page running a duopoly in a single party system taking turns pretending to save the country from each other, which is really itself.

Dude it’s so true. They all do these social issues like right now together in order to keep the bases fired up and fundraising strong. It’s such a scam.

The end result is the same. They just call it different things and people fall for it. Like I keep bitching about what is happening with the tariffs and farmers. You can call it a bailout all you want, but it's a picture perfect example of socialism. Same thing happened with the airline industry and the automotive industry. People lose their minds over a Democrat proposing socialism, but then make excuses when a Republican actually puts it into action. The reverse is also true with Democrats complaining about war under George W, but then looking the other way and making excuses when Obama kept up the attacks.

the Chinese are very smart, slapping tariffs where it will hurt trump most. trump seems like a checkers player attempting to take on a chess master.

trump needs to realize the Chinese would rather cut off their balls than lose face.

Trump is willing to do the same and is doing the same. I swear that Trump could kick you in the face and you'd blame whatever country made his shoes lol. When has he ever admitted that he was wrong? Look at today with NK testing missiles! Trump has always had enough cash from others and an understanding of how to work the bankruptcy system to maintain the illusion of being good at business. He's running this into the ground and will do so at the expense of others because of his ego.

I think a oversized ego is mandatory for becoming president....seriously the only one I can think of who didn't have a super ego is jimmy carter, and even his is probably above average.

I keep telling you that it is my borderline hatred of democrats that keeps me in trumps corner.

i had several invites to go to the indy 500 today, but decided to spend the day with grandkids. i did watch it on tv though....all of those people there and not one i saw wasn't standing for both GOD BLESS AMERICA AND THE NATIONAL ANTHEM....MUST NOT HAVE BEEN ANY DEMOCRATS THERE, LOL.

You should have an ego in that you believe in yourself and believe you should be President, but not an ego as in I am never wrong even when confronted with facts and I will only do things that benefit me and not the country. Ego with nothing to back it up just makes people look foolish.

I know why you're in his corner and I keep telling you that there are more than just two corners. Saying that you're upset with something that Trump (or anybody) did, doesn't mean you hate them and everything they've ever done. I see this every time a new President is elected. Remember when people wanted Hillary to go to jail for using her personal phone for doing government work? Remember the outrage over servers and the emails?! And yet, when it comes out that Trump and several in his organization are doing the same, it's crickets or excuses when you ask supporters about it.

Thats like saying, "I hate Adolph Hitler and cant stand him, so Ill go pick Stalin and be on his side." Imagine if someone actually did pull that one off?

Stalin’s come up was an unfortunate one after WWI. There was a struggle between communism and a sort of democracy. We all know how that played.

Any of you guys like history Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History is an amazing podcast. WWI is incredibly fascinating. It’s also about 20 hours of material on that war alone.
