...when someone has a lot of muscle and then start working for strength the ability for connective tissue to keep up with the new demands gets outpaced due to already having a lot of muscle to squeeze that strength from.

After being away from weightlifting for 35 years, it took me almost 18 months of medium/high reps/low weight lifting before my connective tissue was ready for heavier weights. Even now, I rarely lift weight to failure below 4 reps. At age 61, I can’t afford any nagging injuries if I want to progress. That’s why my motto is “Safe Strength.”.

Yeah buddy, it's been a good 4 weeks. I'm at the point now where I feel as though I'm back in the groove. The feeling where I'm just starting to feel leaner and stronger. The feeling that, I'm not gonna be putting on a diaper.Keep on killing it man!

Last night after an 18 hour day, 2 workouta, close to 2 gallons of water, 2700 cal, 250 carbs, too much sodium.
Looks like somebody got some abs coming in..
