Anti inflammatory / Joint Mechanic- Plus by "Millennium" Does it work? Lets find out!

This is a sponsored log of "Joint Mechanic Plus" from Millennium - Sport Technologies.

Currently not taking anything anti inflammatory to evaluate this product better.
"Joint Mechanic Plus" has a number of ingredients usually found in other joint care products, the one that stood out is: Meriva® a turmeric derived patented form of curcumin (curcumin bound to phosphatidylcholine).

About me:
-50 yo
-hairy
-numerous joint problems, like elbows, shoulders, knees
-working out 4-5 days a week

Stay tuned, log starts on Monday.

First of all, thank's to the team of "Millennium - Sport Technologies" for letting me try the product.

I tried almost any OTC product in the past to alleviate my age related joint problems.
"Joint Mechanic Plus" was the best of all, considering that it had a noticeable positive effect on my joints.
One has to keep in mind that arthritis, arthrosis and other age related conditions are not easily controlled -and a miraculous healing is not to be expected.
Foremost, its important to curb the use of NSAID's to avoid associated side effects from its use. Here is where "Joint Mechanic Plus" comes into play.

To get an idea how it performs in comparison to NSAID's:
It does not start working a few hours after taking it, instead, it has to build up for a few days, maybe a week.
After that it has the potency of about 400-600mg Ibuprofen a day.
I would advise to pre-load with 6 capsules a day (2 x 3 split) for the first days, afterwards the dose can be lowered to 3 caps a day. I noted heart burn when taking without food, so food is a good addition.

The NSAID diclofenac is not widely used in the US -but there is a scientific proven synergy between turmeric (curcumin) and diclofenac. "Joint Mechanic Plus" has "Meriva" as an ingredient, basically a more potent form of curcumin. When I took 3 caps together with diclofenac, it DOUBLED the effectiveness of diclofenac, making this combo very valuable to me, when needed. It knocked inflammation out over night, completely.

I give it a solid 5/5 rating and will buy it in future!

Blog starts a day early, because I hurt my back, (pain in lumbar region) possible while doing BB shrugs. Pain started today, one day after the last workout.
Planing to take 3 capsules twice daily, until back pain subsides, then 3 capsules daily.

Turmeric is fat soluble and supposedly way better absorbed taking it with something like milk. I'm wondering if this would be valid for "Joint Mechanic Plus" too, as Meriva is sourced from curcumin/turmeric. Suggested use is once or twice 3 capsules, no indication if with -without food -or fats.

I took my first 3 caps with my fish oil, just to be sure. Next 3 caps at night. Lets see how I wake up tomorrow. Decided not to take diclofenac (my NSAIDS of choice) to evaluate this product better.
Interesting enough, there is reported synergy between diclofenac and curcumin, here the study:

Day 2
2x3 capsules per day

Back condition got slightly better, no big changes, like after taking a huge dose of NSAID's. This was expected, as any natural product will take awhile to show effect.
Consistency is key, took my 3 caps in the morning with fish oil again. Will do light stretches, applying heat and rest.
I have experience using plain turmeric for inflammatory issues. For now, the biggest difference between "Joint Mechanic Plus" and a heaped teaspoon turmeric is convenience. A more potent form, in a few capsules is way better in the long run, you can take it with you anywhere and the taste of turmeric powder in milk gets unbearable over time.

Apart from my sudden back pain (its from spinal compression, no nerves involved as I can figure out), I got down with a bad cold. No gym for a few days.
The good thing is, I was about to do a de-conditioning anyways.

It may work without food. In the past I took a supplement called phosphatidylserine. Its a "lipid" -fatty compound and was a pain in the butt to encapsulate because it was sticky. Meriva® is bound to phosphatidylcholine, also a "lipid". As I see it, the makers solved the enhanced absorption of curcumin by fats, by binding it to fat.

Day 3

Feeling better today. Back pain is still there -but got better by 50%. Elbows and knees feel a bit better too!
Taking my capsules of "Joint Mechanic Plus" religiously. Still too early to evaluate the effectiveness of the product.
Decided to rest until Friday, will be interesting to see how my joints feel working out again.

That's great! I'm still cautious to attribute my "getting better" to the supplement just yet. Its looking good so far.

3 caps should have equal to 10g plain tumeric. If we take the 3 to 5% curcumin in tumeric. And Meriva is supposed to be more absorbable so equal to more even.

Since I found out Meriva is much more absorbable than tumeric, and saw research on meriva.com I was impressed.

Had to drive to my farm and get a plantation ready for incoming cold spell, lot of work.
No problems with knees, back or elbows -even though the weather was cold and windy.

Day 10

2x3 caps a day.

My right elbow is now almost healed, despite working out. Two days ago, I hurt my left elbow, no idea what exercise caused it. Woke up to bad pain (scale 1-10 / 7). Remembered the synergy between diclofenac and curcumin/ Link: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25442263 . Yesterday, before bed I popped 2 diclofenac on top of my daily dosage of "Joint Mechanic- Plus", woke up today WITHOUT pain.
I think diclofenac is not widely used in the US, if you ever could get a prescription for it: DO IT. If used with this supplement, the potency is unbelievable. It knocked out a very nasty inflammation in 10 hours. No doubt that "Joint mechanic" is working on its own -but for bad cases, in conjunction with diclofenac, its unbelievably potent.

Yep, here you get it OTC, it even comes as instant granules, I mix it with juice sometimes. I would not have taken it -but the pain was too bad. The synergy wit curcumin (Meriva) is awesome!

That was a lie. You don't have joints, just muscles -lots of them! :)
Thanks, and there may be some truth to that. Not much in the way of joints left after building up my that muscle... :)

Still taking 6 caps a day. Figured, that without food, they gave me heartburn. Joints are feeling better than before taking the supps. Not a miracle cure here -but definitely easing the pain. Will keep posting weekly about my findings.

Still some pain in elbows -but I think its more tendon related than joints. Great advances with my knees. Since I take "Joint Mechanic" they got slowly- but steady better!
Now taking only 3 caps/d to stretch my supply.

Time to do some deep tissue, friction, machine, foam rolling, myofasical release, and trigger point. Its a bit of work, but this is what works on tendons, to break the scar tissue and adhensions up so the restrictive "knots" smooth out and you gain mobility again.

good to hear Joint mechanic has helped your knees

Still taking 3 caps a day, about 14 days of supply left (total 2 tubs).
IMHO, it was a good idea to "pre-load" with 6 caps at the beginning. Results are consistent.
It now feels like a moderate dose of NSAIDS , maybe like 300mg Ibuprofen daily. That is great, considering it has not the side effects of an NSAID.
