Let us see what the Stoic philosopher Epictetus had to say about this topic:
Such a one is a carpenter. Why? He uses an axe. What proof is that? Such a one is a musician, for he sings. What proof is that? Such a one is a philosopher. Why? Because he wears a cloak and long hair. What then do mountebanks wear? And so, when people see any.of these acting indecently, they presently say, " See what the philosopher does." But they ought rather, from his acting indecently, to say that he is no philosopher. For if indeed the essence of philosophic pursuits is to wear a cloak and long hair, they say right; but if it be rather to keep him- [p. 2184] self free from faults, since he does not fulfil his profession, why do not they deprive him of his title? For this is the way with regard to other arts. When we see any one handle an axe awkwardly, we do not say, "Where is the use of this art? See how poorly carpenters acquit themselves," but we say the very contrary, "This man is no carpenter; for he handles an axe awkwardly." So, if we hear any one sing badly, we do not say, " Observe how musicians sing," but rather, "This fellow is no musician." It is with regard to philosophy alone that people are thus affected. When they see any one acting inconsistently with the profession of a philosopher, they do. not take away his title; but assuming that he is a philosopher, and then reasoning from his improper behavior, they infer that philosophy is of no use.

TL;DR: If you see someone who claims to be a Christian acting in a clearly un-Christian way, it is more appropriate to say "this man is no Christian" than to say "look what good Christianity is."

you are constantly trying to attack me and make me look bad, but it's funny that you use a philosopher, the wisdom of a philosopher is foolishness to God

Take your gold pieces Judas and leave this place, for your sins are apon you, and not on any of us

you are not a Christian, are real Christian doesn't talk like that. idc how many years you study, or if you go to church, to me you are not a true Christian

There is no foolishness to God, for he gave us free will, and created ALL of us in his image.

You are the only one that lies Judas. Just as you took gold and gave up our Lord to his enemies.

no I'm not Judas, relax. you behave like this because you are Catholic. I know about Catholics, you can sin ALL you want, insult people, lie, be full of deceit and evil, then as long as you go to mass and confess, you are ok.....such hypocrisy ...i warned you, stay away from that false religion

big difference, if i was you, i would open up my eyes and stay away from that false religion. become born again Christian instead (while you can)
You sir are an idiot. If you knew anything, all followers of our Lord Jesus Christ, and his Father, have recieved the Holy Spirit apon our birth and forgivin of our sins when Jesus Hung himself apon the cross are Roman Catholics. And Christians just don't like following the truth.

We cant just confess and be good you idiot. We are only confessioning to a mere mortal who with us will pray for us and our sins that we committed. You know nothing. You sure your IQ isnt 90 instead of 190. Lol

You do know that theology is, by definition, a type of philosophy, and that some of the most influential Christian theologians have been philosophers, and that even early Christian beliefs and dogma was heavily influenced by philosophers including Plato and Pythagoras?

Do you know about St. Justin Martyr, who is believed to be the first philosopher to convert to Christianity, who still considered himself a philosopher after his conversion, and still taught about the value of philosophy?

You are quite adept at taking verses out of context. Here's a lesson on the importance of context when reading the Bible:
A man had a habit of randomly reading verses of scripture. One day, the first verse he happened to turn to was Matthew 27:5 which says Judas "went and hanged himself." Since he was not sure how this verse applied to himself, he flipped to another passage and the Bible fell open to Luke 10:37: "Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise." The man was quite upset and he did not know how he could ever obey that, so he decided to turn to one more place. Again he opened the Bible at random and to his horror his finger fell upon John 13 : 27: "Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly."

you are Catholic, you said it best yourself, you are NOT a Christian.

you call me an ''idiot'' a true Christian doesn't do that, you are a typical Catholic, you commit sins all the time, then confess

you know i already don't like you, so it doesn't matter what you say to me, i see right through you

Do you even know what Catholicism is? Catholics are Christians, as are Protestants. There is no one single "true" Christianity, and there never really has been, at least not since Jesus and his Apostles were around. By the second and third century Christian sects were calling each other heretics and burning books as blasphemous. But you, random internet man, have all the answers that the greatest minds in history did not. Got it...
