Transformation & Physique Goal Challenge 2018! Let's get it done!!!

To be honest I haven't logged them in 2 weeks. If it has protein in it I eat it or drink it. And too many girl scout cookies. I have 2 granddaughters that sell them. I have like 50 boxes.Couldn't let them down. They know PaPa will come through! Just ate a box of thin mints after lunch today! Lunch was 2 grilled chicken breast. lol

Now that I typed this out.........
I need to step up my game to keep up with all you bro's!

You can do this man just got to make the decision that it is a priority for you. When else are you going to have this many people actively trying to hold you accountable and cheering you on? You can have abs by the end of this is you buckle down.

Oh by the way guys I noticed today that the vein down the middle of my left biceps is visible at all times now, and there is less fat between my delts and triceps. So if nothing else my arms have gotten leaner this week!

Nice! I just saw the vein in my delt at the gym this morning for the first time in a while. I was pretty excited about that. I came in a bit late to be a part of this transformation but my own personal transformation is coming along nicely!

Alright i guess i will. Ill post my starting pic from when i first started running a log again here in a little bit and ill get a current one too. I just started trt too so hopefully that will help cause my progress was going a little slower than i had hoped but was still coming along nicely

Excuse alert...the following is full of excuses.

We got hit with a heavy storm this week and I was without electricity, heat, cell reception nor internet access. 100 years ago they had a word for such a situation....every day.

At any rate, I went to a trade show for work on Monday, which was a seafood related trade show and I wound up having an unplanned lunch.

The next day the storm hit and I couldn't leave the house or anything.

So, wah wah, I am way behind now. My diet this week has sucked and I haven't been able to run because I didn't have electricity foe a treadmill and snow prevented going outside. But I did a good amount of shoveling and snow blowing. I am sitting at about 205 which is pathetic.

I did get 2 workouts in. I hit 275 x 11 on squats, 375 x 11 on deadlift and my bench still is stuck at 185 x 14 and 235 x 3 - but last week I did a drop set of:

235 x 3
225 x 1
215 x1
205 x 1
195 x 1
185 x 1

And this week it was:

235 x 3
225 x 2
215 x 1
205 x 2
195 x 2
185 x 1.

So, I am saying that is a small improvement...very small.

I am getting stronger ...but not losing weight because my diet sucks.

It's not fair that Studhorse can eat thin mints and still see abs.

The rest of you guys are looking great. Truly impressed.

Now to come back and get my sh1t together.

I know its incredibly frustrating lol. Things are gonna be moving alot faster now though im tellin ya. Theres alot of difference i notice in the mirror though whether or not it shows in the pics

Hehehe! In the morning I look almost good in the mirror. At night, gravity did its thing and all goes to sh1t, LOL.

Here is my progress. Not much of progress here. But, weight has gone up by 2lbs. Now I am at 165lbs. (which is my goal). My abs a slowly fading away. I think it's because of carb and water retention. But, my waist still is the same at 30.5".

These past two weeks I have been working on getting everything together and leaving the military after 11 years and starting my new job this past week. I see improvement..looks like you lost some BF. Plus you just got on TRT. this should help.
plus your pics are at different distances. that can make it hard to see small improvements.

Thanks Stud. I have a small frame and I have an idea what to expect from this bulk. But, you and a few others here have a good frame. Why are you all just lazing around? I really like to see couple guys here getting into good shape.

I have a small bone structure but a big rib cage. Plus I got a few more years of gym time on a few of you. I remember back in my 20's and 30's I could pack it on pretty easy. Now its more of a maintenance or small ups and downs. trust me I have thought about using gear to see what it would do for me. I just figure I have made it this long without it and dont really want to deal with the sides.

Thanks man. Yeah the pictures dont really do it justice. Looking at myself in the mirror i keep noticing how much bigger i am and more vascular. My wife has been noticing as well. Also i had a guy at work ask me if i was on steroids lol. That was before i started taking anything

Well no matter what you say im gonna be shredded in no time ;) well maybe not shredded cause i like to eat food. And i like to eat food that i like. I eat moderate amounts and clean foods but im not interested in making myself miserable for single digit body fat. I just want to look good and feel good which usually when i buckle down and go for it doesnt take forever. Oh yeah and i also want to be strong as **** lol
 
Here’s me currently. Dexa 2 weeks ago put me at 18% bf (for those that dont know me I used to be fat hence the weird loose skin going on).

Goal 1 is lean bulk (on cycle in March) and ideally get to 215lbs with same bf (currently 205) after pct.

Goal 2 is a 400lb squat (currently 352) and 500lb dead (current 440). Goal 2 is obviously massively ambitious in the timescales, realistically for this thread the aim is simply progress towards those numbers to hit them by year end.

Ok so here’s my update pics....

This should have been where I started to come strong in this comp (and was all on track last week as my cycle started to kick in) however, I picked up a brutal stomach bug which basically destroyed my guts (and a few toilets) from last sat to Thursday. Literally zero training, Cals down below 2k every day. Everything softened up, I’m still holding water as well.

Actually up 7 lbs since start of this, strength is also up so I’m seeing it as a short set back and now I’m recovered I’m good to push on......

Rest of you fellas starting to show some results though.....I’ve got some catching up to do.

Well, woke up today at a plump 190.3lb (up 5 lb). Obviously not happy and lost my shiit on my coach via text. We will see from here but obviously I’m making negative progress.

Not much progress from me this week. Weighed in 100kg on Tuesday after 3 days of fevers and flu, but weight back up to 101.5kg before I took these photos, the day after smashing down nearly 500cal of food.

Going to get back on the horse now and focus on clean controlled eating.

Weight 208.5 Scale hasn't moved at all. Pants are getting a little looser around the waist.
I was a little concerned about cutting back my volume to fit in cardio.(Currently only have 2 hrs a day x 3 times a week to hit the gym) Only 2 weeks in and not any visual change that I can tell. I will take this as a plus. Strength has continued to rise on most lifts.

Well I screwed the pooch this weekend. These pics are from Sunday, I added 1.7 lbs back on so up to 209.2 with a cheat Saturday night. My buddy who lives in Austin surprised me Saturday evening by showing up after his daughters volleyball tournament to get together and hang. I ended up going out with him for dinner and some drinks.

I started the night out valiantly with a low carb offering of hot wings and crown royal, knowing I was taking pics in the morning I didn't want to ruin things. Unfortunately, after a couple drinks I ended up partaking in a bunch of nonsense finger foods and then a few beer ritas which I imagine are close to 1500 calories a pop with all the sugar.


So yeah I TOTALLY SCREWED THE POOCH HERE!!! The pics prove it.

Realistically I don't think I did much damage with the cheat, or hope not but nevertheless I am pretty frustrated with myself. I know most of what I am seeing is a lot of water from the salty foods and high carbs. However, It is the progress I could have made since that is lost just getting back to where I was and that annoys me. I will do better regarding cheats as they are what is stalling my progress right now. Training has already caught up and my activity levels are fine. So it is just one more level of improvement and that is more dietary discipline.

Yeah the booze makes dietary adherence so tough.......it’s not the reason I don’t drink but the fact I don’t definitely helps.

Don’t beat yourself up for too long bro. Own it and move on.......you can’t change the past but you can make sure the past doesn’t negatively affect the future

Oh I agree, this was me owning it, done beating myself up for it. Just have to do better and move on.

Went to a seminar this weekend held by 2 World’s Strongest Man competitors - one of them’s best frontsquat, at 5’10” and only 280lbs, is 650lbs...so I’ve got some motivation for tomorrow morning!

Yikes! You probably want to bring your hands in closer, the weight shouldn't be on the wrists and elbows. When I used to keep my hands too wide there was a lot of pressure on my wrists, but moving them in closer fixed that for me. My index finders are right on the edge of the knurling now and definitely inside my shoulders. If you have them out past your shoulders the weight is really going to be cranking down on them and trying to fold them up in a way they are not meant to go. When in close it's just a matter of bending at the elbow in the natural way it bends.
650 pound front squat? That sounds extremely uncomfortable lol

Oh it does but the guys shoulders are so big it probably isn't any less comfortable than a back squat. Guy is THICK!!!!!
 
Yeah Rob Kearney is a crazy athlete - the foot speed is as wild as his strength.

Talking crazy frontsquats, Derek Kendall hit 832 in Chicago a couple years back, and more recently Jeza Uepa (spelling?) was alleged to have hit 400kg (880lbs). I know Clint Darden said recently he wants to get back to a 600lb front if he can.

That’s not a movement you can use a suit or briefs with at all, either. That’s just a bar on your throat and your desire to succeed.
