Admins Supplement Journey of 2018

I keep seeing people talk about apple cider vinegar. I'm probably going to need to look into that a little more seriously.
 
Day 2 Workout:

Did Chest and Tri's. The bro workout.

4x10 Incline Dumbell
4x10 Weighted Dips
3x10 Rope Pulldowns
3x10 Single Arm Tricep Extrensions
3x10 Incline Dumbell Fly's


I felt really good given I've taken 3 weeks off and 36 hours of getting into ketosis. I honestly think my body adapts faster than most. I feel so much better when Im in ketosis vs carb based diets. I also feel way more positive which is key to me.

No cardio. Going to try get the calories stabilized and at least 2 weeks of weights before I even venture into cardio. Its a marathon, not a sprint.

No Pre workout today. Again, want to slowly get back into a routine before adding anything substantial.

I did have my Modern BCAA mixed with a little apple cider vinegar and lemon juice during my workout.

ACV improves insulin sensitivity. Prior to my beta cell transplant I used it at 2 to 4 tablespoons per day. I would say that overall it helped me consume a little more carbohydrates before my blood sugar levels went out of control. I put it on salads, veggies and in warm water before bed.

I used to take it before bed with warm water to avoid acidity/gastric issues. But never with BCAA. This is new to me

Oh yeah I know that...he just asked if it had any added effect with BCAA's and it doesn't. Its just easier to mix with them with the strong citrus flavors.
 
Day 3: Keto Coffee (1 Tblsp Unsalted Butter, 1 Tblsp Coconut Oil, Blended).

I love this feeling after taking a couple weeks off. Going to do deadlifts today and some iso back exercises. Should be painful.

Weight: 213. Down 5 lbs already.


Wow, this is magical fat loss!!! This is going to be easy!!!!

Subbed and interest peaked. Switched to Keto coffee as new preworkout about 3 months ago. Best decision maybe ever.

I love the keto for cutting up. I have been contemplating hitting up some keto myself to get nice and cleaned up. Plus see if it helps with some of my inflammation issues.

Do you notice any reduction in inflammation when you are running Keto? I haven't gone full on keto for about 2 years now, but I seem to remember less inflammation back then too. Then again 2 years of hard training could have just beat me up more also.

Yes in many ways. Joints and GI issues.

I saw walmart had Mothers acv single serves for water bottles. Gonna grab some for convenience
 
Are you planning on using any BHB salt supplements? Seems to be all the new rage these days, but honestly I haven't looked into keto dieting or what these supplements are supposed to do.

No, I think they are useless unless you are doing endurance work on keto.

Bent Over Rows 4x10
Rope Pulls 4x10
Ez Bar Curls 3x10
Barbell Curls 3x14


OK I felt it towards the end of the workout. I think the deadlifts really took it out of me as I wanted to see if I dropped off any since a month ago. I was 1 rep weaker but went all out. I started to feel tired during my Rope Pulls and Curls actually were tough to do. Full blown keto in effect....and combined with not lifting for 3 weeks I felt it.

Taking a day off with the weights but I got 2 new pre's I"m going to try that came in yesterday :D

Whaat? Come on....tell us what they are.
 
No, I think they are useless unless you are doing endurance work on keto.

I have read that they are pretty good for quick energy, like the aminos of fat and had thought of trying them pre workout when I venture back into keto.

However I have always been of the opinion that the people who say to use them to get yourself into ketosis have no idea what they are talking about...

Certainly if you supplement ketones then you will find ketones in your urine. However that does not mean you have put your body into ketosis. If anything you are delaying the process by providing easily used energy that will get used preferentially before your body starts trying to make it's own ketones... EI you are burning exogenous fats instead of your own and you are not becoming any more efficient at creating ketones... CRUTCH!!!

Now if there is a performance benefit during the workout then that is different if you are trying to exploit that aspect which would be the only reason I would try them.

Nope but I didn't use it a lot and at the time I had tried just about everything. It was VERY good at the time.

Reigns crack for me. I can’t take it past noon or I’m up forever. One of the only pres to do that to me.

Yeah thats why I'm trying to other one. Supposed to be clean and no crash. We'll see. I only tried 1 scoop of Re1gn and it was good.

I like anything with low dosed Yohimbine.
 
Day 4:


LEG DAY!!

8x10 Squats. Yes, 8 sets. I normally do 10 because its squats and these pins need to grow but cut it short to get back into it. Could have done 10.
4x12 Leg Extensions
3x10 Seated Leg Press
3x10 Calf Raises


Thats a good start to get back into leg day.


Ok tried Re1gn again. Same effect. Really nice clean energy..had some jitters but nothing serious or would warrant me not to use it. I would say a small crash but I'm picky. Only took 1 scoop and it was great. I didn't get a great pump effect but I rarely do. Only thing that really has an effect on me is High Volume by PES. Other than that, I give this 9/10 for a pre. I never give a 10/10 because thats perfect and it doesn't exist. lol


Had to reload on protein. I use ON Casein exclusively now. Whey, no matter who I've tried, gives me GI issues.
 
Interesting that casein gives you less bloat, most have more problems with casein. Is it micellar or have all the fats and lactose in it?

Update:

Saturday I did a depletion work out. It mainly consisted of chest/back bi/tri's and my legs were still feeling it.

I had my cheat meal which consisted of various types of Chile as we had a neighborhood chile cook off and it was great. I didn't care, sampled everything and was up 3lbs in my weigh in this morning. Don't care, its part of of the plan.


Supplement update:

Tried Alphagen-x. This SH!T is LEGIT. If I compare it to Re1gn, it had a much more mild clean long lasting energy. I had zero crash and it definitely had a euphoric effect. Dare i say, original Alpamine like....

It did nothing for pump as its not supposed to but as far as an energy/mood enhancer, it was really good. I am taking it again tomorrow for a follow up.

Do you think this might be why you dont experience pump as much? I know my pumps were a faint memory when I did keto. But because of all the dietary cholesterol my strength was amazing.

Its two fold.

1. Yes, keto definitely will reduce any types of pumps, but I still get it with products like Re1gn.

2. Alphagen-x doens't have anything that will really increase pumps.

Thats why no pumps now. :D

Also comparable in terms of the AY content vs PES SA2-A which was as smooth as a baby’s ass?
 
I have always considered myself lucky that can get a pump even with Keto. I get a pump very easily.

Thats why its good. Its just smooth over a long period of time. I react well to anything yohimbine.

Switched back and forth from Re1gn and AlphaGen-x. Sometimes I like the pump, but I like the energy/mood better with AlphaGen-x plus I get some fat burning benefits. It really depends on what you're into.

I'm looking into some other things to try and have to decide within the next few days.
