used a miner hardware. and realized it will take a decade at the current difficulty level and power consumption. So, didn't do it for long.

I have some crypto currency and I agree with you it's very good idea to let it sit and wait it grows up. But I'm afraid that rate can decrease and I loose all my money and sometimes I exchange some crypto currency to real money, I always use monitoring htt ps://rates.guru/ and choose the best rate

I'm going to explain why Bitcoin and other blockchain crypto currencies are actually SUPERIOR to the US dollar or any fiat currency for that matter, very quickly;

Your dollar is backed by nothing and is controlled by politicians; they can print more and more money and there's nothing we can do about it. The dollar is not backed by gold or silver, like it once was long ago. The US dollar is backed ONLY by "faith" in the American government. Let THAT sink in.

Bitcoin is governed by the laws of MATHEMATICS. It is totally decentralized, meaning, NO ONE controls it. Bitcoin is also BACKED by actual resources including electricity and labor. That's why people "mine" bitcoin like you mine GOLD. Who do you trust more, the laws of corrupt and greedy politicians or the laws of MATH?

And as I predicted, Bitcoin and other crypto currencies have rebounded sharply, despite the "powers that be" trying to crash it. Bitcoin, and more specifically the blockchain technology upon which it is built, is literally one of the greatest achievements of humankind. It's right up there next to the internet. Don't be the person to tell your kids 30 years from now, "I remember some guy on anabolic minds ranting about Bitcoin and if I would have listened to him then, I'd be a BILLIONAIRE right now"..

Thoughts on Coinbase? I have 150 litecoin that I was lucky to purchase when it was around $12 siting in my Coinbase account and now that value is going up, and I strongly feel will be reaching well over $100 in the next year, I want to have in a real trustworthy wallet. So far this has fit what I need because it is very easy to use and I love the real time value monitor.

Any other recommendations? I plan to buy $5-10k worth soon while it is still around $50.

I went to make a Coinbase account and forgot I already had previously to purchase some stuff online, but never went through with it. I got $1 in Bitcoin for signing up two years ago, and now it is worth $20. I really wish I would have bought a few hundred dollars worth at this point. Lol

Should have posted up a screen shot above 6000.

I ended up pulling the trigger on 5 bitcoins on Wed when it dropped to $5100 and just sold the profit about 2 hours ago when it hit $6167. Just made $5k in 4 days. Lol, it is unreal.

And it’s down nearly $1,000 from this right now. Along with LTC and ETC being down a bit, I know it’s volatile but I don’t think I ever expected this much. Lol it’s pretty exciting and I’m tempted to buy more that they’re all low, even though I’m showing a loss currently. I think that’s the definition of crazy.

Hey, I bought 2 more bitcoins at $5100 last week and just sold them for $6300 today. $2400 profit in a week is pretty damn exciting. The volatility is what is fun. You have to play the price, not the perceived value. I'm waiting on Litecoin to hit $70 again because I bought 100 of them at $40 and my sweet spot is a $3000 return on those.

For me I’m making money as the value goes up but I also make money with mining farms who trade and mine and I make 1% on top of the value going up .

Hard to say, but likely the current chain will remain as the primary. There is support on both sides and the miners want the split for better returns, but who knows- it really depends on who the large miners support. There are a lot of eyes on it now because people believe that if the fork happens without any disasters, that everyone owning bitcoin will then also be granted the same amount on the secondary chain- which in testing is showing a value around $1k each right now.

I was thinking it would be a pretty far shot for people to abandon the original. But I still am learning more everyday.

I’ve been reading a lot and I’m starting to understand it a little bit more and the lack of replay protection doesn’t bother me as I intend to hold both after the fork, and trading on an exchange isn’t at risk for replay attack anyways, if I understood it correctly? I was worried that if the majority of support moved to the new chain, BTC price would drop and I’d have to frenzy and sell before I lost it all. But then the second chain would likely just continue to rise in place of it, and I technically wouldn’t be losing any in the long run?

I’d also like to see ETH and LTC gain some upward movement as they are getting depressing to look at everyday. Lol

Are there any unbiased sites you recommend to read more on for current news?

I'm about to buy a few hundred different alt coins and see if I can sell them off after the fork and make a little profit to put back into Bitcoin when the price drops after the fork.

I am keeping all my litecoin for the long haul. It isn't doing much even after news from bitcoin, but at the price, it is worth riding out in my opinion. Plus, more places are accepting as payment so I think that support is always good.

As far as Bitcoin- lol, who the hell knows. They predicted a big sell off yesterday and that didn't really happen, but the price is steadily going down. I am waiting until the chance of $6500-6800 and then buying a couple. I feel like it is going to rally in the next couple weeks after people shake off the fork.

My golem continues to stay steady doing nothing. haha, but I keep it because I believe in the concept.

I had never seen golem but it definitely sounds interesting after reading about it.

I woke up yesterday planned to buy a few more LTC as I was expecting it to rise, but I was too late and it had already gone up ~$10. If it drops again I definitely plan to grab a few more.

So whats the crack with ethereum?

Honestly ive done minimal research at the moment and will obviously do a lot before making any substantial investment but is it an over simplication to say that at some point vendors will possibly just accept 2/3/4 major crypto's (like visa and mastercard....)......in which case isnt it likely to at some point balance out with bitcoin, eth and ltc all worth similar?

Whats making bitcoin so much mote valuable?

Bitcoin is the first and most well known crypto so all eyes are on it. Plus it has a much lower overall distribution life, meaning there will never be more than 21mil coins produced, so the value goes up and the mining difficulty does as well.

Alt coins will have their place, but it remains to be seen where and which. Ethereum will always be here (it's a platform) and I believe Litecoin will have it's spot. I invest in them because they have a defined place in the market. I invest in Golem because it is something I truly believe will take off and will be used in the future. I have 5000 gnt right now and will likely add to that.

It's essentially a way for people to pay to use others compute power when they aren't using their computers. If interested, I would look it up. A fundamental understanding of cloud computing would be helpful, but not necessary.

What a difference a day makes! Everyone dumping bitcoin and putting it in Bitcoin Cash. Luckily I woke up early and sold fast, only took a $500 hit. Had I waited a few hours that would have been $4k lost. Doesn’t look like any slowing down either.

Whats the logic? Presumably itll recover over the next day or so? Why bitcoin cast instead of litecoin or eth?

I brought a few golem last night btw, looked into and like the concept.

I've opened an a/c with Coinbase but can't get my CC registered even though my country of residence is supported.

Emailed them & all I received was an auto-reply that their CS is super busy etc...

Anyone has a tried and trusted to recommend other than Coinbase ?
