I thought it would be worth updating this here. I JUST started another run of DCP. I ran it for 2 months last summer/fall and I am one of the people who has major stomach upset from the capsaicin I've used capsaicin as a single ingredient before and experimented pretty heavily, so I'm familiar with it, and DCP definitely has a strong dose of this ingredient. I know a lot of people seem to build up a tolerance to this ingredient and the pain goes away, but for me, the pain was consistent throughout the two month run. During that run, I found that if I dosed Orange Triad with each dose, the pain would be greatly reduced or non-existent.

One interesting thing for me is that I am actually VERY tolerant of spicy foods. I can handle capsaicin itself with no mask, gloves, etc. I've made pepper spray that makes people cough and cry from 20 feet away and I can spray it without any protection at arms length and might cough a little but nothing major. But, when I take this ingredient, I get severe gastrointestinal stress. It's kind of a paradox and I think I may have a theory.

When I take this ingredient, I typically don't feel any pain until 2-4 hours after the dose. I will feel fine, and then suddenly cramps kick in and I have bathroom emergencies and pain that won't stop. After thinking about it, I theorize that my stomach doesn't get upset by the capsaicin at all - it seems to take time and then as it moves down my digestive tract to my intestines, my intestines can't take it.

This locks in with the Orange Triad relieving issues - we have hypothesized the bromelain in the OT is alleviating the pain. Bromelain IMPROVES digestion. In other words, maybe my stomach is not effected negatively by capsaicin, but it also does not digest it very well, which means that when I take it, it passes in large quantities into my intestines and causes the issues. Bromelain increases digestion, which means I am now absorbing more of the capsaicin while in my stomach and less is getting to my intestines - so much less pain. It also may mean that people with the pain for this reason are not seeing the full results of this product.

Further, if Matt has studies showing the stomach actually thickens mucous in response to capsaicin, this may fit my theory. I am actually somewhat tolerant of capsaicin - I probably have a thick mucous lining already, and this may interfere with my digestion...allowing me to feel no pain for a couple hours but then sending a large amount of capsaicin into my intestines.

To test this, on this run I have purchased a bottle of Now Bromelain capsules and some apple cider vinegar. A couple minutes before I take my DCP dose, I've been taking 1/2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar and a bromelain capsule. This actually has INCREASED the pain in my stomach slightly about 20 minutes after taking the dose - but no need for bathroom breaks, no emergencies, no cramping, and everything is VERY tolerable. With the first dose yesterday morning I took a full tbsp. of apple cider vinegar and that actually caused the most pain - so the apple cider vinegar may be responsible for a lot of the pain in my stomach after the dose and not the capsaicin...so I dropped it back to 1/2 tbsp. After a little while that pain goes away and I have no issues at all. It's only been two days, but bromelain/digestion seems to be a huge part of this for people experiencing pain.

I'm one of the people that haven't been able to handle it. I also have ulcerative colitis so I'm certain they are contributing factors, both making one another worse.

Have you tried Bromelain?

I would eat two Greek yogurt cups and a banana before dosing to line my stomach. As long as I don't lie down/try to **** then I'm fine. Lying down is always a bad idea though

Typically Milk (the dairy kind) is the best "antidote" to capsaicin, I've built a tolerance over the last 15 years or so by going through bottles and bottles of those super duper 1,000,000 scoville unit + hot "sauces" - the kind that make Dave's Ultimate Insanity sauce look like candy....that said, years ago when my tolerance was lower, every once in a while I would overdo it, and the burning in the stomach, gut, and later coming out was very bad. The cure for me was to grab some milk immediately after realizing I "overdosed" and that always seems to work.

And I've battled digestive disorders since I got my first ulcer as a teenager, was hospitalized with my first bout of diverticulitis in my 20's (nearly lost a large chunk of my colon due to a misdiagnosis), and suffer from diverticular disease. So, milk really does seem to work for me, and I suspect lactose free milk will work as well for those who are lactose intolerant (it's supposed to be the casein that does the trick).

Just my 2 cents, I'm actually going to be starting DCP next week so I'll know more then about how my body handles it.

Fun Fact: The capsaicin in DCP (and other EvoMuse prioducts) is approximately 15,000,000 scoville units.

I've been taking 2 3x/day for a few weeks now. At first I would feel like my body temp rose within 20-25 minutes. Then gut cramps. Nasty ones! I added in a fish oil cap with each dose and that helped a bit.

After a few weeks, it's much milder. Although it still feels unpleasant unless I dose with food.

I'd have probably dropped back to 1 cap, but I didn't think to look in here until now. :)

Mine red too and smell menthol, pretty nice! I just got a couple from a colleague to try out before I order. This is mainly to see how I'll handle it as I've seen comments for some it's too much.

I did have some really bad crippling back pain and burning for first 2 weeks, but this eased once i started using orange triad.

Am I dosing correctly:
7am pre workout 2 caps
12pm 30mins (or there abouts) before lunch (break fast whilst following IF)
9pm (1-2 hours) pre-bed

Would I see any benefit to a different dosing schedule? Maybe taking the pre-bed earlier in the evening before last meal? Can I take the lunch dose with food or better to be taken before?

NB; I've found dosing fish oil has helped and I've not experienced any discomfort in my first few days :)
However, my hands are freezng cold practically all day after my first dose...anyone else have this? Any tips?

Just to say I normally have warm hands and since starting dcp + brite I have noticed they are very cold, it could just be anecdotal.

Just a quick update to one of my earlier posts, I've now been taking the DCP for almost 2 weeks, only had one morning of discomfort as I took them first thing upon waking that day on an extremely empty stomach (been working myself crazy lately and sometimes forget to eat, especially dinner).

That said, I felt a little burning not uncommon with the super high potency capsaicin hot sauces, which was quickly remedied with a couple swigs off the old milk carton.

Will DCP aid body composition while eating on a calorie maintenance/surplus?

Lifting is powerlifting focused and cardio when my lazy ass decids for it.

I honestly believe it will. I have been trying to get my motivation up and get my diet in check again. From Nov. -January I gained 25, which shows how easily I can pack it on. For the last month I have been doing a lousy job of dieting and I have lost 4 pounds and feel I am shifting a little composition-wise. My deadlift in particular is actually going up pretty well, which I use as a big indicator.

Definitely. It lets me eat above maintenance with several poor-quality meals a week and keep fat gain in check. If I could stay on it all year, I would. Add Slintensity to it, and you're golden.

Probably yes. In the same situation, I was taking 2 caps preworkout only, as in a surplus I don't think you would burn fat in other periods of the day. Maybe pre bed...

Unlike most thermogenics, DCP with or without food/carbs is irrelevant. That last dose before bed, though, is pretty crazy. You will wake up in the morning visually leaner.

Adding a prebed dose tonight! How much beyond 8 caps a day can one go?

Then yes...total of 7 per day.
Curious, is there a specific reason for a 7th cap at bedtime, rather than taking the last dose of 2 caps right before bed (which is what I've started doing recently).

I was dosing the 3rd caps at bedtime too, up until last night! A 7th, single cap gave me a better sleep than taking 2 before bed! Maybe just in my head - who knows!! dsade!

Nah, I can't take any DCP before bed. It's not just you. I'm not sure if it's the octopamine or carnitine, but something in it wakes me up every couple hours.

Ah ok that makes sense, I've been an insomniac my entire life and wake every 2-3 hours anyway (the only time I've been able to sleep through the night in recent memory was with Ambien or a similar sedative but I don't/can't take those anymore) or so that's probably I haven't noticed any difference lol

Oh, well, I'm in a similar boat. I have to take sleep hygiene very seriously if I want adequate rest in quality and quantity. I'm very anxious for Sleephoria to come back out. Have you tried that?

I would guess it could be the octopamine keeping you guys up - but capsaicin can cause a noradrenaline cascade. If you are waking up after a few hours....That may be it.

I finished my first bottle of DCP and Supernova about two weeks ago. Most days I was eating about maintenance or just under. I definitely lost a few pounds of fat without any stuggle and no cardio. Definitely good products!

The only personal downside was most days my hands and feet would be really cold after taking my first dose, until I worked out which then they were warm the rest of the day. Now, im not sure (and need to schedule a checkup,) but I think might have to do with hypothyroid issues. After doing some research, carnitine is generally recommended to avoid with low thyroid issues and carnitine is in both products. Not sure if that is whats happening or not, but the coldness went away after stopping the products.

Who said significant? It was maybe 2-3 pounds of fat. Until I get a checkup, I wont know if thats the case or not.

Is it possible that if my thyroid is a bit sluggish, I could still make progress if all other factors are on point? Yeah, just wouldnt be as fast.

I'm hypo and always wondered about the carnitine issue with hypo people. That being said it's hard to tell if I have issues since I do take carnitine and do take DCP.

I reduce my cals and I do cardio so I'm sure I'm offsetting it and potentially the little fat loss benefit that carnitine can give will also help offset any loss or negative.

I'm on half a cap of alphaburn (3mg caps) + PES Alphamine (eu OG) + Brite; pre workout
DCP will follow this, along with Supernova I think!
