2016 NFL Thread

No I agree we sucked. My point is that despite how crappy we played all game we were somehow only two scores down and jets or any team in that situation deserves to get beat when they play soft and allow the other team a chance, no matter how slim that is, of stealing a game with s miracle. But overall we totally deserved to lose

Louisville and FSU at noon
Alabama and Ole Miss at 3:30
Notre Dame and MSU at 7:30
OSU and Oaklahoma at 7:30

What a time to be alive........ Consider me sitting on the couch all day at work watching College Football.Don't care how many customers come in!

OSU and OK not playing til 9 the earliest. FSU got smacked around. I hope Louisville can beat Clemson in two weeks. That would set up a potential undefeated game against Houston later this year!

If louisville continues to play how they are playing they won't be stopped
Then again FSU has not looked good in either game so far this year. They could be vastly overrated which I have a feeling they are even with one of the best RB's in the league.

Bama and Ol Miss was another classic college football game.

NDSU >> Iowa today huge upset!

Dont get me wrong i think houston good but man this Louisville team looks like they are on a whole other level. If they play like this the whole season they will be the national champions

I just jumped in this thread without reading any other post, so COWBOYS FTW. Just wanted to say that. Have a good day everyone haha

I heard this stat yesterday, before the NDSU game. Since 2010, they played 4 FBS teams, they won all four. Kansas played 57 FBS teams and won 4. Make that 5 for NDSU now.

Lets see what happens withe the Patriots QB situation now

Jimmy Garoppolo ruled out after injuring throwing shoulder
Danny Woodhead exits Chargers' win after suffering right knee injury
Redskins' Josh Norman upset for having to take drug test after game
Jaguars' Kelvin Beachum taken to hospital after sustaining concussion

Big W's for the Steelers in the AFC North
Dallas with a huge win on the road and #1 for the rookie QB
16 Ten - 15 Detroit
25 Baltimore - 20 Cleveland.. came back with a nice W for the Ravens
16 NY Giants - 13 New Orleans in NO. Big W
Carolina steam rolls SF
Houston with a big win at home over KC (19-12)
LA with a win over seattle.. who saw that coming after being shutout last week? 9-3
Arizona Smokes TB
SD Crushed Jacksonville
ATL over Oakland on the road.

I'm really starting to think that Luck is not all that great. Yes, his line has sucked in the past and still does, but he still makes poor decisions when they give him some protection.

Really happy for Bradford. I hope the Vikings make a strong championship run this year and keep him.

Always been a fan, and was disappointed when we traded him away.

I think that's just it. FSU was supposed to be a top 4 team with Dalvin Cook but he's yet to run for 100 yards and shows signs of babying his shoulder. Even pass blocking Saturday he just laid down.

This is his "100% healthy shoulder" prior to the weekend.

That, and now with Derwin James out and a freshman QB who can't check down it looks like FSU has a rough stretch ahead.

Not that great? NO QB will look great playing one of the best defenses in the league.
He threw for 23 TD's his first 2 years in the league then tossed 40 his 3rd. That is pretty damn remarkable to try and cover Manning's shoes in Indy.

My team is so bad in fantasy it's unreal. When you're best player in a week is Blaine gabbert u know u got issues

Damn wish I played u. I put up 87 low of the league. And bc I'm defending champion getting all sorts of chit for these first two horrible games

I'm doing OK this week because of rivers, Olsen, and L. Murray.

OBJ and Robinson have both been mediocre the last two weeks, hoping that changes soon....

In my only money league my top four picks were:
1. AP - will more than likely be out for AT LEAST a few weeks after last night (i dont think there's a confirmed diagnosis yet). And i think has about 4 pts in the 1st 2 weeks.
2. Lacy - has ~10 pts in two weeks
3. Keenan Allen - done for season
4. Shady McCoy - hasnt done much at all.

Lets just say it has been a rough two weeks.

That's why I stated I am starting versus stating he isn't great. I also acknowledge the lack of an O line. The TD numbers are nice, but he makes some bone headed decisions at time. I believe it is more of his O line than anything, but we'll see. There are other great QB's with shaky lines that play better. That is not to diminish his career so far though.

News:

Adrian Peterson has torn meniscus in right knee
Cowboys' Randy Gregory withdraws appeal, to sit 14 games
Pete Carroll fined; team loses pick for 'no-contact' violation
DeMarcus Ware to have surgery on broken forearm, miss 4-5 weeks
Chargers RB Danny Woodhead has torn ACL in right knee
O'Brien Schofield to rejoin the Falcons this week.

Tonight:

Bears inactives: CB Kyle Fuller, CB Cre'Von LeBlanc, S Deon Bush, LB Nick Kwiatkoski, OL Eric Kush, WR Cameron Meredith, DL Cornelius Washington.

Here are the Eagles inactives for tonight's game at the Bears: WR Treggs, CB McKelvin, OL Andrews, OL Gordon, OL Vaitai, OL Seumalo, TE Ertz.

We have some good looking games this coming week! I've got my eyes on:

Texans/Pats
Vikings/Panthers
Bengals/Broncos
Jets/Chiefs
Steelers/Eagles

The Sunday and Monday games do not look good on paper. I hate being in the NY market, the Giants will be on FOX at 1. I would much rather watch Vikings/Panthers. I'm hoping the Steelers/Eagles game is on Fox at 4 in my area. It would be nice to flip betwen that and my Jets.

Police officers sue Bills RB LeSean McCoy over bar fight
Jay Cutler has right thumb sprain, not expected to need surgery
Chargers sign ex-Pro Bowl RB Dexter McCluster
Cody Kessler will be Browns' fifth starting QB in last five games

Falcons saints could b high scoring

Maybe. I think most people were expecting Giants Saints to be high scoring, but it wasn't.

Am I one of the few that still enjoys a tough defensive game with minimal points being scored? I feel like these are more enjoyable to watch and it is more of a game of wits than throw the ball and score.

U must have loved Seattle la last week then lol

The Boston Herald reports the Patriots are "putting pressure" on Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) to be ready for Thursday's game, and have "(reminded) him Tom Brady played through a similar injury on multiple occasions throughout his career."

Per reporter Jeff Howe, Garoppolo is "still struggling to lift his right arm," so it continues to seem like his supposed up-in-the-air status is just a ruse. Garoppolo will be listed as "limited" again on Wednesday, but we'd be shocked if he started Thursday night's game against the Texans.

In other words, "Toughen up boy if you want to be the man"

Bears QB Jay Cutler has his right hand in a splint and is expecting to miss 2-3 weeks. Brian Hoyer expected to start vs the Cowboys.
Viks RB expected to miss this week with the MCL sprain. Looks like AP is going to have surgery.
Lions RB Ameer Abdullah on IR
Former Cowboys WR Devin Street to sign with the Colts with the injury to Donte Moncrief.
Pats are preparing WR Julian Edleman for back up QB

With AP and Khalil out, they lost a good amount. If the new O lineman can play close to Khalil, they will be alright.

I think the Browns are having the most unlucky season out of any franchise in sports history...Corey Coleman broke his hand in practice.

Unlucky?
Son.. this is the browns..
25 Starting QB's since 1999. 5 QB's to start the last 5 games... Cmon now haha
Nuff said!

-Mixed reports on Vikings RB Adrian Peterson. Some say also torn LCL, Vikings officials say 'no torn LCL'. Im not sure if its the same knee the tore the ACL a few yrs ago.
-OL Mike Matthews (cousin of Packer's LB Clay) worked out for the Redskins yesterday.
-Titans G Chance Warmack is headed to IR with a broken finger that requires surgery. Another guy having a hard time staying healthy.
-Colts QB Andrew Luck missed practice yesterday with a sore right shoulder. Probably from the punishment he took courtesy Von Miller.
-Browns WR Corey Coleman will see a specialist regarding a special cast for his broken hand. Best case scenario, hes out just a few weeks.
-Bengals QB Andy Dalton apparently has a hip injury but was listed as a 'full participant' in yesterday's practice.
-Chiefs continue to ease RB Jamaal Charles into things. He continues to work primarily scout team, while working into the mix.
-Chargers rookie Joey Bosa was in pads for the first time yesterday, since 8-30.
-Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) is a 'long shot' to play Sunday.
-Jags RB Chris Ivory is back at practice after his brief hospitalization. He is limited with the workouts for now.

Very true. Besides Allen, who was severely hurt last year?
I can't remember lol, I had Rivers last season too and kept reading about it. I think Gordon was out all last season, wasn't he?

Here's an article from one game last year where they lost 12 guys to injury.

Yea Gordon was out for a period.

I would even say this year Vikings' team has had terrible luck. hey may not have lost the quantity of players, but the quality of them has been significant.

I'm really hoping Charles doesn't play this week. Yea, it would be his first game, but I don't want him to burn my Jets D!

I'm at the point where I truly believe belicheck could go undefeated with me playing qb. Unreal

McDaniels had a great game plan for Brissett. And those special teams turnovers didn't help Houston..

Osweiler should never have been a starting qb in the nfl let alone get the contract he did

He's a $128M Cutler. He stares down receivers and makes horrible, god awful, high school decisions.. O'Brien is good with QBs so maybe a few more weeks Brock will turn it around but he hasn't looked good to start the year
