I haven't noticed any bad effects on training like that, but higher doses do cause nausea with me.
Has anyone noticed an ill effect on their training from tianeptine? I've been using 50mg of tianeptine sulfate once daily in the morning with an empty stomach. It's been 17 days now, and although it has noticeable mood brightening, antidepressant and anxiolitic effects, it seems to tank my recovery and ability to handle volume. Maybe it's just the training stress though.
Apart from the positive effects noted above, the negative effects so far are constant lethargy, reduced libido and appetite, and constipation.
The analgesic effects were very notable during the first week, I felt great in the gym but I suspect that is an easy way to hurt yourself. It went away after the first week.
At this point, I don't think I want to take it chronically but I would like to acquire its long-term benefits of normalizing your HPA axis, promoting BDNF, repairing neuronal damage due to stress and increasing synaptic plasticity. Does anyone know how long I need to keep taking it for? The original Server literature states that the sodium salt needs 6-8 weeks to work well, so I'd bet it's even longer for the sulfate salt but I'm not sure I want to be lethargic for that long.
Trying that today. That's interesting how a single 25mg dose can be stimulating while a double dose is sedating. Reminds me of curcumin.
The more I take, the more energy I get. Interesting how it affects people differently.
No bud. He was taking "300 12.5mg caps as a single dose with MULTIPLE DOSES daily". As in 1 dose would be 3.75g and he was doing this multiple times a day. Seemed crazy to me, but who the ef knows lol.
Which brand sulfate are you using? So I'm still feeling lethargy, brain fog and fatigue from a single 25mg sulfate dose. It's been 23 days, I think I'll stop. It looks like quite a few people have this issue on Reddit and Longecity, the sulfate salt being more prevalent than the sodium. I just don't do well with anxiolitics, they just make me sleepy and sap my drive. Looks like Semax is what I need.
Also I swear that tianeptine hurts my training. Joints have never felt worse and I have not increased training load.
Which brand sulfate are you using?
I can verify the guy must've definitely been trolling or something, taking very large doses causes EXTREME nausea. I've experimented with some big doses recently in the hopes for increased productivity, larger than I've tried in the past. Definitely not a good feeling. And so I'd say addiction to this stuff shouldn't be a problem between the heavy nausea and receptor-downregulation.
Well, I'm an idiot. My thinking was way off. This link gives a good description comparing the sodium and sulfate forms - Invalid Link Removed. I don't know if it's completely correct but has good numbers and reasoning to back it up.
Do any of you see an issue with taking a dose of Lithium Orotate at night, while taking tianeptine during the day?
Did you end up trying lithium with tianeptine? I ordered some lithium orotate to see if it helps reduce the overstimulation/irritability from tianeptine sulfate (ashwagandha worked for that but after a few days ended up making me too tired if taken during the daytime).
I've had great success with lemon balm recently. Maybe a dose of that with your tianeptine doses?

I use Between 400mg to 1200mg, FYI.Thank you for the recommendation. I don't recall having used lemon balm before. I'll add that to my list of things to try.
I've used lithium orotate a few times here n there (in evenings) while using Tianeptine during the day, and had no problems.
I'm a bit nervous to try it on a daily basis though. I might give it a shot soon with about 150mg of Tianeptine daily. I've been using about 2-300mg of Tianeptine sodium daily for the past couple weeks.
Are you still taking tianeptine three times a day? Any noticeable comedown if you miss a dose? That's one thing I like about the sulfate version...no major drop in effects later in the day (just a little less energy).
Yeah, lithium orotate has been both good and bad for me in the past. On it's own I find it to be very calming (not sedating) but it also seemed to flatten my mood (no highs or lows). I'm hoping the tianeptine will overcome the mood flattening of lithium while the lithium will overcome the overstimulation of tianeptine. Who knows...worth a shot. I see lithium recommended often to help those that have strong reactions (anger, mood swings, etc) to other antidepressants...so I figured why not try it with tianeptine. Besides, I'd only be taking 5 mg/day so I wouldn't think that would have any longterm negative consequences since the dose is significantly lower than prescription lithium.
To be honest, I've been using Tianeptine as a crutch because work has been crazy the past two weeks. I'm using 100mg 3-4 times a day in a non-therapeutic way. Been using it to function. It's bad, I know, but I plan on taking a week's break then running it properly, mixed and measured properly with a solvent. Tolerance builds up quick with this stuff.
I ended up getting some and love it. Great for focus and overall since of well being. My question is regarding it for drug test? Does it show as a TCA?
My test are sent to the lab (government). I know it's legal so shouldn't be an issue but I'm still weighing the pro and cons of taking it.
Can understand needing to use something as a crunch when things get bad at work. I use low doses of phenibut during those times (used it daily for months when things were at their worst). At least you're strong, and disciplined, enough to taper the dose back down when things improve. Based on reviews online, not many are when they get to taking doses that high (not sure I would be...which is why I haven't tried).
Well I'm still trying to see if it's worth it. Id rather hear from someone with experience on it?I'm not sure, but I don't believe it would show as a false positive. Let us know what you find out.
Nice dude. Congrats. How long were you dosing prior to weening off?
but I was dealing with insane stress at home and work. It definitely helped but I'll never high dose just for energy/productivity anymore. What have you tried so far? I never delved into anything like Tianeptine for stress, but I did find that KSM-66 and Kava helped with stress/anxiety when I was going through a rough-patch and break-up a month ago.I need to look into other nootropics for anxiety, stress, focus and energy

Aniracetam might be worth a try. I see that recommended a lot. I just picked some up and will be starting it tomorrow (taking a break from tianeptine).
What do you use for a choline source?
I'm going to initially try it without choline. For some reason, I never reacted well to cdp-choline or alpha gpc (made me very depressed). I eat a lot of eggs though, so I really shouldn't need extra.
Do you think Phenyl-Piracetam is another good option? I was thinking of trying that one out as well for other reasons.
It's been a few years since I last tried that one. If I remember correctly it provided energy and improved mood. It didn't really decrease anxiety or anything. I also developed a tolerance to it after a week or two of taking it continuously (have seen read that is common and it shouldn't be taken every day). I can see how it would be a good one to take on weekends before heading out for a hike or ride.
I've read it can be good for people who've down regulated their dopamine receptors through usage of caber/prami, which was why I was wanting to give it a try. Supposedly it can help increase receptor density.
Phenyl-piracetam is awesome i did some tests on how L-dopa effected me prior to Phenyl-Piracetam dosage and post usage and noticed a huge difference in L-Dopa effectiveness, im a big fan of Phenyl-Piracetam but it needs to be cycled.
Have you tried aniracetam too? If so, how would you compare the two? I liked phenylpiracetam when I tried it before but don't remember everything about how it felt (I have a crappy memory) and was taking other things at the same time.
I'm interested in your experience as I've been looking for something to replace tianeptine, something I can't abuse though (i.e. Ativan), but can use more often than twice a week (i.e. Phenibut).Man this is all great info. Thanks guys. Ordering some of both next week
