I could've sworn we covered this earlier...

Sorry but epicurus is not a power lifter supp. Performance for a athlete is best, but good luck! Prove me wrong.

I am not sure where your logic comes from as to why this would not suit a power lifter... but it makes no sense at all.

EPI - is well known to aid in muscle growth and recovery. Larger muscles allow for more strength, more strength equals bigger lifts. Bigger lifts are sought out by Power lifters... Saying this is "Not a power lifter supp" makes no sense. Then you go on to contradict yourself by saying this is best used for increasing an athletes performance... Power Lifters are athlete's and unlike bodybuilders, they have to PERFORM their best on stage. So by those standards I would say that it is indeed well suited for Power Lifting.

It isn't a strength supp, no but that does not limit it's useability or benefits for ANY athlete. It just doesn't give crazy increases in strength.

This supp is for anyone who wants to gain more muscle, point blank. Most power lifters want to build more muscle so they can lift heavier weights. So it would work well for them.

Thanks homie! 800 is a looooong ways away lol. Like, in a galaxy far far away. Still cant believe I missed 725 today but crap happens. Got it to the knees and it felt like it was bolted to the ground. It is what it is.

As far as epicurus not being for a PLer - I am going to debunk that myth! Once you see how I train I think you will agree that this stuff will be fitting right in nicely!

I don't think it qualifies as a myth with one person saying it. LOL Supplements are designed to effect specific attributes, if those attributes are involved in your training then the product is beneficial to that training. So long as you go into this with realistic expectations you should be happy with your results.

You look like you know your stuff and are strong as hell. If I were you and you want a little more size I would try increasing overall volume while on this since it is what it is geared toward. I imagine you probably know that already as you are far from a newbie.

I hear you, guess my wording should have been it is not an ideal situation. Can help with recovery? Lot of people report increased tendon soreness and increased doms. Which could be related to increased volume due to increased recovery. Studies out showing the tendon issues but I am sure you are aware of that and why potential power lifting not ideal.
I do agree, breaking down what an athlete is we all have our own idea. I picture what relates to me as most others do. So yes can help any athlete. Just the main thing I get out of a epicatechin supp is the aesthetic look and increased recovery in a circuit type setting. Not a power setting where I recover from waiting 3-5 minutes for my next set. Just me and my experience or opinion.

Exactly what my plan is! The timing is perfect as my training cycle is restarting so the volume will be super high and the calories will be flowing as usual. Thanks for the kind words, ill be posting my log link in this thread when I receive the goodies, be sure to sub!

Yes you are right on the tendon issues. Chronic use of this limits connective tissue recovery. The lower myostatin is the less the body is signaled to create collagen for the connective tissue. Most over use injuries come more from higher repetition work like seen with bodybuilding. My tendons have thanked me greatly for switching over to more strength and less overall volume. Sure you see tears and other things in PL but most overuse injuries tend to be stemmed from the higher reps associated with hypertrophy ventures.

I would use this while growing and working but probably stop it weeks out before I begin to peak for a meet where numbers are really getting high.

As far as the DOMS yeah some people got more sore but they also recover / adapt more, hence the noticeable increase in muscle tissue. Curious if it is chemical based, like does the lower myostatin also cause more metabolic reaction within the muscle to stimulate recovery and adaptation. Just interesting which end do those gains come from, or both. Makes you wonder is the damage done from the same workout increased, or does the body just perceive that is the case and super-compensates with even more growth due to the lack of myostatin keeping growth in check.

I've heard structured sets of partial reps of compound exercises can be beneficial to ligaments and tendons. Any truth to that?

Yes there is. There is actually a tendon strength program on BB.com to do just that. You basically lift your main work sets then do some ultra heavy partials at the end. The point is to stress the tendon to the point of adaptation with the extra weight but not go deep enough into the ROM to put the tendon at a major disadvantage due to leverage. This allows you to "safely" force the tendons to adapt to the heavier weight without taking it into the risky areas of ROM until the adaptations have been made.

This is also part of the reason you see PL guys do heavy unracks. Just unracking a super heavy load they couldn't squat and holding it. Forcing the body to adjust to the new load.

Ive done this before. Really light weight. Seemed to heal me good.

High reps or rest for healing for sure. I believe he was referring to training in a way to specifically strengthen the connective tissue though.

These should be going out to log winners on Tuesday, have been waiting on products to be delivered to us so we can ship out. Appreciate everyone's patience!

Thanks for the update Yates! Can't wait to get started!

No problem brother. I know it sucks waiting for something at the mailbox. Will let everyone know as soon as these hit the post office.

Pumped to start logging, scooping more protein up, anything else recommended? Diet is low glycemic slow digesting carbs, loads of protein and healthy fats.. Any other suggestions to optimally utilize andromax?
