Welcome To Anabolic Minds! Introduction Thread!

Hi I'm Bryan, I'm 31 and I live in Southern California, I'm the best damn tile/hardwood contractor on the planet. I work my ass off at work AND at the gym! I'm on a mission (get big) that's it! I'm married and have 3 little girls that I want to protect just by looks alone. (I'll use muscles if needed) but intimidation will do. I want to be fit and healthy when they give me grandkids, that simple. Thank you for this place!

Welcome Ryan.

I used to be an active member a long time ago. Than life happened. My dad, my best friend died suddenly than my mom 3 months later. From a broken heart, I suffer from an eating issue. It's been really tough this last year has sucked in so many ways but I am trying to find my way once again.

So sorry for your losses. My wife lost her mother earlier this year and her father last week and it is very hard on her.
Hope to see you around more on here, good group of people here to help and motivate each other.

We are here for support, should you choose to log or ask questions at all.

My family was hit hard with death when I was young. Went the drug route myself. Don't know what you're going through. It takes a lot of focus for sure. I wish you the best.

Thanks for the support it was a year last weeks for my dad and will be a year in January for my mom. I'm not doing the drug route I'm doing the 3+ hours at the gym and not eating.

From my own experience and current understanding of psychology, it really doesn't matter what we do, as far as dealing with the pain.

My case was drugs. The drugs made me feel great while doing them. But deep down I was hurting. I wanted the drugs to end my pain permanently.

The gym takes your mind off things, maybe makes you feel good/great. Not eating is self destructive.

You could try eating at your dads favorite spot after a workout. Sometimes little associations like that help a lot in the long run.

It did and thanks problem is when I do eat I get sick. Since the passing of my parents so suddenly my own health I know stress related has declined. So I know this as a nurse but as a person/ daughter I just don't really care to be honest.

Put simply, I had the correct words of fear put into me by my endocrinologist - "pre-diabetic". With the help of some appetite suppressants, myfitnesspal.com and dragging my butt to the gym 5x/week (in the morning - I hate mornings), I've managed to drop 175 pounds and have more than a few people I know not recognize me (kinda dig that). Now, I'm just trying to keep going.

Now for some fun with pictures:

Very true. To use a championship analogy, "Getting the belt is easy. Keeping it is the hard part."

Hi! Mo here. I'm a 40 y/o mom, wife, caregiver who's been overweight most of my life. I started gaining weight as a teen in order to shield myself from unwanted attention. It has been my prison instead. I have a great support system, great Dr and a great gym that I can trust and count on to help keep me accountable as I lose this weight and make my body strong. I am learning so much about my body, this weight loss experience, and how to maintain a reasonable outlook. It's going to take time, but I can do this. So far, in 10 weeks time, I've gone from 46 BMI to 38 BMI. I am learning and incorporating so much from Anabolic Minds and look forward to sharing my metamorphosis with you. Thanks!!

Welcome MO. Your situation briefly sounds similar to my wife. She used to comforted herself with food. She got her stomach reduced, I can't remember the procedure name, but it wasn't lap ban. She went from 250+ down to 160ish. She can run further than I can run. I am not saying to get surgery because you can do it with the right mindset and support system

Was it gastric sleeve? I started at 254, I'm at 232 now. I'm watching my portions, no refined sugars, limited starches, more protein, fiber and water. I'm in the gym 3-4 times a week and I work HARD!! I'm starting to enjoy the sweat. It's the tears of all the fat cells being evicted. I'm excited to be here!!

Not sure what your goals are from here or what you're looking to learn more about but lots of knowledgeable people on here are willing to help. Feel free to pm or tag me anytime. If I can't answer a question I probably know who would be able to help.

No not that. It was full blown surgery. Scar about 4" long. Doc did certain way to prevent stomach from restretching back to original size. I'll ask her tonight.

What do I want to learn more about? To start with - As a lifter, I'm a 51 year old baby. I'm always looking for new ways to train and improve. I'm in my first month of 5/3/1 to try to build my strength and maybe some muscle.along with it.I also know very little about supplementation beyond whey protein. I'm also trying to get over being paranoid about my weight, i.e, it's OK to have some weight gain when you've been lifting for a while - It's also OK to eat to feed the muscles *have a hard time with that one).

Keep up the fight and congratulations on how far you've come so far.

Hi daz from australia :-) I'm 39, always been fit cardio wise but at 170cm and 70 kilo I've always been very slim etc, lately due to work etc and not actively playing sport anymore, I have began to get very soft around the belly as age has stopped me relying on natural build-genes to be slim lol
I'm thinking of trying a ph ( epitren ) to speed up and help my enthusiasm in trying to feel as look a bit better, as well as help build actual muscle guys...
I have done a fair of reading about what's required but as I'm new to a lot of this, I don't understand some of the terms etc
One question I've got is can you stack anafuse with epi tern or use the anafuse in pct after the epitren

Welcome to AM Daz26. This is the perfect place to learn. It would best if you post your specific questions about anything aas/ph/ds(anabolic androgenic steroid/prohormone/designer steroid) in the anabolics sub forum. You'll find plenty of help in there. When posting there, if asking for cycle advice be sure to give age, diet, training, and supplement experience background so we can better advise. Right off the bat I can tell you that Anafuse should not be stacked with Epistane and Trenavar. Rather you would use it as a part of your pct. PM or tag me any time you need some help. I would say if you've never taken supplements at all then it would be best to become familiar with using basic natural staples and a proper diet first, whilst researching for future cycles. Cheers mate.

Welcome Daz, I'm in similar circumstances, 48 years old, currently taking a stack called Vitamin X, making huge size gains, increased endurance and strength, 4 weeks in have gained an inch on all measurements, but haven't lost the belly flab, starting heavier cardio tommorrow, good luck bro and go for it.
