Soooo my knee hurts. Front, below the patella. Light throbbing. I can feel it when pushing off/against. It doesn't feel like the normal "my ITB or calve is tight" type irritation. This seems pinpoint. Ideas? This is making me question going into this meet. My next two weeks will be the heaviest two weeks.
Calf would be my guess with either the AT or the soleus the culprit. We have similar squat stances and fixing my soleus has taken away the majority of my knee pain that was in the same area.
What's the AT?

Ok, I'll bite. What do the balms do?
Localized pain relief. The menthol donates salicylic acid to the area as an anti inflammatory IIRC. Warms the area and increases blood flow too in my experience. Just keeps shyt from hurting. I try to save it for when I'm really hurting but some people use it daily. Usually by the time I'm within six weeks of doing a meet, I'm using it daily anyway.
