NomZ Totals 1500+

Two minis, doubled, at the top of a squat. Hmm... My guess would be about 100 pounds at the bottom and well up over 200 pounds at the top. Probably closer to 300 than 200. The thing about doubling bands is like you described, it causes the tension to come on fast, like hitting a wall. I've benched against doubled lights. That was hell.

I'm agreeining with you, it felt like 6+ at the top. I also blame you, I asked what would herder do when the 460x2 felt like ****, I said box squat. Then I said against bands, then you said double double bands. This is your fault.

Fasted
1 scoop Focus XT
1g SNS Agmatine
2.5g SNS Betaine

Comp. Bench
135x8
185x3
215x3
+Reactive Slingshot
245x8
245x8
245x8
275x1
295x1
315x0 at lockout

Seal Row
95x3x8
145x2x4

Bottomup KB Press
35x2x3
25x3x3

Would have gotten the 315 if I was fresh. 295 flew up, and then I add 20lbs and boom, brick wall at lockout. Upper back still pissed off, so took it minimal, and I'll probably do light event on Friday or Saturday.

Two mini's or doubled mini's? If two, I would say maybe 25ishlbs top end each band, so 100 total I guess. Doubled mini's? Then more along the lines what Dude said.

It was two minis on each side of the rack, folded in half.

:D You got my thought process exactly right, though.

Been lifting still, basically been on a deload the past two weeks bc of an extreme hip flexor flare up. Had an hour plus of soft tissue done on the iliospoas last week and been babying it ever since.

Also totaled my car last Saturday (no injuries) and will be getting a settlement payment for it soon, yay new (used) car shopping...

Strongman show Oct 25th, broken or not.

Fuuckk, sorry to hear brother.

Sorry about the car dude. Hope the hip feels better. You'll kill it at the comp!

Damn that's rough. Just get yourself healed up and a nice foreign car that is good in gas and GTG

Thanks guys, hip is slowly on the mend, and just need to file the paperwork in order to get the settlement for my car.
rob112 looks like I'm getting a 2015 Honda Fit 6spd as it's on budget, good gas, and I like small hatches.

My 2008 Subaru Impreza was what was totaled.

Don't want to spend more than 16k. I can finance more, but I rather pay in full.

I can sell you a 1962 Chevrolet C10 for a good deal less than 16.

Or a 1989 Chevrolet C1500 for even less. (Both with recent engine rebuilds, and the '89 had rebuilt trans as well)

Great, a truck.

Yeah, but the '89 is pretty small. Fits in compact car spaces, just like what you're looking for.
lol bull****, I wouldn't even want to drive a chevy s10

It actually does, I almost always park in compact (and take up as much space ad the corollas parked next to me).

But, its a full size chevy. Lowered at each wheel with corvette wheels on it and the small block 350.

Not sure why I'm explaining it all though because I wouldn't sell anyway lol.

Well at least both of us wasted our time equally.

Corolla is actually not that small of car.

Then its the Camry I'm thinking of, honestly I can't really tell the difference with most of these Japanese cars.

They're about the same size, 182 vs 190" for the Corolla and Camry. Compared to a Honda Fit which is 160" overall length.

My wrangler is 151" does that mean I can park in the compact car spots now?

I bought a Honda Civic brand new for 17K about 2 years ago. lil more than u wanted to spend, but what u save on gas makes up for it.

Took too many stims, proceed to try and max raw squat, 495 is the slowest thing ever, throw on suit, proceed to hit 606 in my loose Super Centurion and Inzer Grippers, attempt 626 with wraps so tight I couldn't bend my knees, fail, test drive a vehicle, vomit in mouth, calmly roll down the window and explosively vomit, "missed the car".

Was 197 this morning after last night...

Dude wtf on that rerack. And on your whole day. I don't even know where I am right now after reading your post. 6 bills in the single ply, thoooo...

Lol no one got hurt on the re-rack, no big deal, he was new and I didn't give him explicit directions, plus I wanted the damn weight off my back.

Pleased with 606 though, suit fork thoughts from the gear whores? With how beat my hips are I'm considering doing single ply as my next meet 650/350/675??

Single ply it up. Make that 4 board your bitch and total 1800. Little bit of knee cave, you'll have that.

The stance was already way wider than my raw stance, and in the Romaleos I was surprised I didn't feel forward at all. Saw the knee cave too.

I would totally wear Oly shoes for single ply squats. Seems like it's halfway between a multi-ply and a raw squat, I'd want a heel for that. I've squatted in a heel in my Preds and didn't hate it. I can't say for sure though, as I've only ever used single ply briefs just once.

My last single ply meet I preferred my wrestling shoes. I went with the Romaleos and they felt great, I'm thinking some extra external rotation might help with the knee cave at the width I'm at.

Got owned by the 10" log today.

Log Clean & Press
110x2x5
160x3
180x1 clean & 0 press
180x1
200x1
220x1 clean & 0 press
245x2 clean & 0 press
180x2
180x2 clean & 0 press

Did some other stuff too, but the focus was the log. The clean was easy, no problem there, but my rack position sucks with my elbows dipping and as soon as I dip for my drive I come onto my toes and lose any power I had.

First set was 245, second 180x0 later so you can see where I fail the press. Head needs to come through.

You just need to make a conscious effort to keep the elbows up, it almost looks like you are afraid to embrace the backwards lean the log requires.

Don't fight it, just lean back with it and keep the elbows high.

Also, it might make it a little easier if you sat down a little lower. You throw the hips pretty well for the clean, but that last bit is looking like its mostly bicep, which can make the press harder. If you sat lower, and had the log a little higher up on the chest before throwing the hips under for the clean it might be easier and take a little less energy.

I'll try and implement those, thanks. This was the first time on the log and the show is next Saturday, so this will be the only training session on it.

In my head I was thinking I needed to be chest over the bar before the clean, but I'll think next time to sit with it. Clean felt easy though.

Had my strongman show today, weighed in early at 200.7.

Due to raining and weight classes not having a lot of participants, events were changed last notice and I moved from doing MW weights to LW weights, so everything was lighter than I trained for.

Event 1 10" Log Clean & Press Max Reps in 75 sec 4th place
205x0

I had warmed up on a 12" Beast log that I viper pressed 180x2 and 215x1 warming up, went in confident when I heard it was the smaller log and got owned by it. Couldn't viper it or push press it, no idea what happened.

Max Farmer Walk in 60sec 1st
205 per hand x238'

Drops every 50' and turn with short handles. I couldn't get my stride down as I am used to a long stride and I'd clip my calves in the back or bang my shins in the front, so really struggled with my footwork.

Standing Arm over Arm Sled Pull 1st
400lb sled 50' in 30.75sec on rubber matting

Was really looking forward to a real truck pull, it rains and now we're pulling sleds inside, poopycock.

365 Deadlift Max Reps in 60sec 1st
365x33

Was tied for first going into this event so I set the bar high. Last minute they allowed sumo, so I switched stances, TnG, suit bottoms and wrist straps. Closest person behind me was 20 and the weight class above me only got 28 with the same weight.

Odd Loading Event Medley 1st
5 implements to 50" platform in 29.55sec

It was a mixture of natural stones, one atlas stone, and a loaded pin.

Still had fun even though it was a repfest with the lighter weights. Glad I came back to redeem myself on zeroing the log.

****in awesome TnG's man! Good work today.

Oh...I believe it's "poppycock". Poppycock may be referencing something else..

Or maybe you meant that. That would be bad, too.

They allowed sumo? Lucky break lol.

I've never heard of that, but it definitely looked like it was in your favor.

I'm surprised about that log, although I know a lot of people have a harder time pressing the smaller diameter logs (although I always hear about people saying the larger diameter log is harder to clean)

Neither have I, but I wasn't about to give up an advantage. Some of the seasoned HW guys were giving me ****, but IDGAF.

Ya that log owned me. I heard that the 12" is easier to clean but harder to press, I found the inverse like you said. That said I trained on a 10" before this and successfully got 205x1, and never touched the 12" before today.
