Figured it was time to start a new log as I have new goals.

570/290/650 to total 1500 @198 Classic Raw in February 2014.

I compete in the USPA, and have done past USAPL meets (State Championships/local/Collegiate Nats)

My training is currently Cube Method, with tweaks of my own:

(no speed bench, just cycling lockout movements with ME and RE work bc of uber-weak lockout)
(squat 2x week, once after deadlifting for reps or pauses)
(keeping the ME/DE/RE cycle of Cube for SQ and DL)
(keeping accessory/BB day)

I'm a SNS rep, so you'll see mentioning use of those products plus others from Purus, etc, etc.

Thanks, never got anything out of psyching myself up, screaming, and yelling. Visualization and getting the right amount of arousal is where I think it's at.

Cool, if they are interesting in powerlifting, they should join our powerlifting club. We have a decent sized team and have competed a lot since founding it last fall.

Indeed. Rugby is a club sport is it not? One of my powerlifters played with them for a bit, don't know any of their guys or coach though.

I am usually intoxicated when with said friend, but as I understand it, it's now a competitive league sport, though a lower division, I believe. I believe the team was very successful when playing as a club, and then things turned. Again, all info gathered during various drunken states, lol, so I may be mistaken in part.

I see, not sure but they could still play competitive league and be a club. Hockey is like that here.

Just trying to visualize, I could see that hitting triceps pretty hard.

To strengthen a weak lockout, done with a pause to remove the stretch reflex.

My lockout is very weak due to not training tris directly bc of elbow issues, so I'm trying a new approach cycling lockout ME movements every week.

Okay, cool. Makes perfect sense. My issue with the bench press was always the initial push, so I used to focus on the speed bench presses to bring that up (was doing PHAT training). Same on squats - I was fairly slow out of the hole so box squats and speed squats helped bring up my total.

More paused training and delt work will help too potentially.

Edit: The Russians are sick and twisted. They're better lifters, though. That Russian Squat program is disguisting. This makes me wonder about doing something like that. The thing is, they're on AAS lol

Ya, I'm not attempting any of the smolov or harder programs, last time I did I got rhabdomyolysis (but that was caused by other issues too).

Nice volume man. Looks like you do a fair amount of warming up prior to heavy triples, doubles, and singles. Do you do any additional stretching on top of this?

Thanks. I typically pvc/rumble roll first, plus lacrosse ball mash anything especially tight. Then do a general warmup including hip external rotation, walking lungers, walking goodmornings, toe touches, trunk rotation, dowel goodmornings. Then do my specific warmup starting with the bar. No static stretching unless something feels like it will pull during the workout.

Accumulation of injuries + heavy weights = longer warmups.
 
No lift today, got some ultrasound and laser treatment on the nasty forearm/elbow musculature.

Flying home to the islands on a red eye. Training in paradise on Friday, speed deadlifts and farmers...

I actually hadn't made this stuff until 3yrs ago bc I was never into lifting when I was younger.

It was raining off/on, so shirtless it was. I'll post pics/vids of everything as I use it. You can see the black thing on the left is my 131lb barbell, and the thing on the right is one of the 100lb farmer handle.
