75s per side X 5 // 15s X 15
75s per side X 5 // 15s X 15
--In this gym there is only one barbell and it's in a power rack. So I warmed up here while a guy was squatting in the power rack. What made me mad though is I had to wait a while and his form was the worst I've ever seen. His squats were shallow even if his goal was a quarter squat. I was just thinking "I'm getting delayed for that?!" Anyways...

I'm in week 2 of dermastrength. Haven't noticed much as yet fellas. Heavy and high volume. Diet spot on.

Really? Sorry to hear brother. Have you noticed any reduction in DOMS? That was the first thing DermaSTRENGTH did for me

Yo I hate when I have to wait on equipment! Great session tho

What I've noticed so far from DermaSTRENGTH has been strength and endurance in the gym. I've been able to do more weight with more reps than before. I think 315x5 on deadlifts might've been a 5RM, but I can't remember (1RM is 410).
Appetite is normal (thankfully! I don't have an issue with eating enough lol)
Strangely, I have been sweating considerably more than usual and it's been consistent.

Really liking it so far! Been seeing some good progress with my numbers in the gym

EDIT: First thing I was able to notice (forgot to mention it) was recovery has improved drastically. No DOMS whatsoever even on this volume intensive workout on very limited carbs.

Looking good in here bro. You are definitely not disappointing with this log man. The increased sweating seems to be universal. From most logs that I've seen, sweating has definitely gone up, that and the increased recovery. Keep it up man thank you for the detailed log my man

For sure. Especially if you see the dude texting or some Sh!t

Normally I don't mind but there are some exceptions lol. If they're texting or just chit chatting then it's annoying (and I've walked up and said something before). And this time it was because his form was just so ridiculously bad. His squats were literally too shallow to even be called quarter squats. He barely moved..
Anyway, the workout felt great today! Top set for bench and CGBP felt awesome

Of course man! Told ya I wouldn't disappoint! :p
The increased sweating took me by surprise, was not expecting that at all. The longer I'm taking Dermastrength the more I'm noticing how it positively affects almost every aspect I'd want it to. Recovery, endurance, and strength are all up and this is just the start of week 2!
I'm pretty dang broke right now but if this keeps up I'll probably try to get another bottle to extend the log another 4 weeks

Rearranged this workout week due to being in the car all day the other day.

Gotta get studying...I have my PCAT (pharmacy school admissions test) on Friday :(

Sorry for my brief absence yall. Had to take my PCAT the other day (the most important test of my entire life...) so I missed workouts and was a shut in for extra study time. And it paid off! :D The average score for the pharmacy schools I'm applying to is an 80, my score was a 96!!!!! :D

Today I really felt like doing deadlifts. I've been recovering really really well, but I've been getting mentally burned out so after this week I'm going to restructure some things. Got some figuring out to do

Called it a day here. Spent about 45 minutes talking to the personal trainer at the gym. This guy, unlike most personal trainers, knows what he's talking about. (He's a competitive powerlifter with some records under his belt. And a video of his 330 OHP! ) I'll talk about it in the next post (it's worthy of a separate post!)

Anyway, a friend turned me on to russian routines so I started asking the trainer's opinion on a few and just generally how to get increased frequency. After talking a bit he started basically writing me a program. It isn't a russian routine though, it's bulgarian inspired. Something that he's used as a basic outline for a lot of people and he said it's worked extremely well for everyone he's had try it. With this routine, frequency is king. Here's what it'll look like:

Sunday: Rest
Monday: Squats + Chest + Back
Tuesday: Squats
Wednesday: Squats + Shoulders + Back
Thursday: Squats
Friday: Squats + Chest + Back
Saturday: GPP

Squats: All working sets will be singles but never maxing out. If going up takes less than 1.9 seconds, increase the weight. If it takes 1.9 seconds or above, call it a day. I'll have to film all my sets when I'm solo to determine this
Chest: BB Flat Bench 5sets X 3reps or 5sets X 5reps. With one assistance 5X10
Shoulder: BB OHP same rep scheme as bench. With one assistance (probably bench) 5x10
Back: Pendlay Row (forgot rep scheme here, I'll ask Wednesday when I get this started with him)

Of course man! Told ya I wouldn't disappoint! :p

So today I was going to start that new program that powerlifter wrote me. He's the trainer at my dad's apartment gym so only he has the key to unlock the closet with the real BB in it (otherwise there's just a smith). But today he decided to cancel his session with everyone so he could pick up a dog :( Pretty disappointed. And because it was in an apartment gym and the BB was locked, I had nothing good to use. So my improv workout:

Wide Grip Pull Ups
BW X 10
BW X 10
BW X 10
BW X 10
BW X 10
BW X 10
BW X 10
BW X 10

Narrow Grip Chin Ups
+30 X 5
+30 X 5
+30 X 5
+30 X 5

Total: 100

Then called it a day. Guess my bulgarian style workout will start Saturday (the next time he's working)

Had to set my alarm early today in order to work out with the trainer. I felt good once I chugged down my pre and got going though. Glad I established my TM today because if I can hit it easily today, I can definitely hit it easily regardless of any other circumstance! (I am not a morning person...at all)

Thoughts on DermaSTRENGTH:

Leaning out pretty nicely, vascularity is up from the beginning which feels awesome! Still sweating a ton, pumps are much easier to get and they're fuller.
Strength is increasing nicely and recovery is still elevated! No DOMS whatsoever from 100 reps of pull ups. I'm glad I have dermastrength for this new program--gonna make getting used to it MUCH easier!

Another good day! Didn't feel 100% this morning, but the only DOMS I had were in my back. Spinal erectors I think? Although it was pretty localized so maybe rhomboids? Either way, once I got going it cleared up and I felt great

Appreciate it man! I'm liking the results I'm getting. Where I am right now is really the first time I've had nutrition under control and understand it. Started lifting > got fat > lost weight > not enough muscle, looked scrawny > got fat > Today. So right now is really the first time I've started having vascularity to the extent I do. Partly because I'm starting to lean out, but vascularity is definitely getting increased from DS which is awesome--makes me feel like progress is coming around haha

Oh yeah boack on the Pendlay rows, they looked good but don't look over to the camera when you are lowering the weight. You are asking for a pulled muscle or worse by doing that. I know you were just checking the camera but not a safe practice. Same with pressing and squatting neutral head position should be maintained at all times.

Man that is really saying something last time I did 100 chins I was sore for a week.

Thanks man. Chins have always been a strong point for me, so I didn't expect anything too bad but I expected SOME kind of soreness. Pleasantly surprised! haha

Thanks for the tips on Pendlay Rows, I'll make sure I keep a neutral head position (for everything). I talked to the powerlifter who wrote me this routine, asking about back work and he strongly recommended cable rows or one armed db rows to make sure the lower back doesn't get over worked (especially since I squat low bar). I'll add them back in some day and keep that in mind.

No DOMS again. But today the weight just felt heavy. Was warned about days like this though, still pushed through and got my numbers.

Very glad I got in the gym today! 6 days of squatting in a row and not run down a bit!

DermaSTRENGTH still helping me out with recovery (thankfully!) No DOMS whatsoever and feeling good still! Getting big pumps quick! I had a painful pump in forearms and bis today from the pull ups. Even with hemavol that normally doesn't happen that quickly (by set 2 I had to stretch cause it was big!)

6 straight days of squats?

Wha?

Sounds like DermaSTRENGTH is treating you well.

Love hearing the kind of feedback you are giving and way to crush it man!

Make it 7! :D
DermaSTRENGTH is definitely treating me very well

My legs would fall off for sure....

haha it's not so bad. Volume and intensity are dialed down quite a bit so it's very manageable (and enjoyable)

Love hearing the kind of feedback you are giving and way to crush it man!

Appreciate it man! Think I have one more day of DermaSTRENGTH left...makes me sad lol

Good looking routine there.

How do you time your squats down to the 10th-second? I have a hard enough time counting in my head. If the weight feels heavy, I'll be like, "one, twwwwwoooooooo, thhreeeeee......"

I'm the same way man lol. I record all my sets starting with the singles. First thing I do is check for depth to verify and then I time how long it takes me to get it up. There's been many times I was like "wow that was soo slow" but it turns out to be less than a second haha

So I took my last serving of DermaSTRENGTH yesterday during the rest day :( Figured it'd help with recovery, which it did!
Already have my after video recorded, I'll get it up soon and then I'll have a review up shortly after that. (Spoiler: It was awesome)
