Little upset that I had to work 12 hours today on a project...got to the gym with little time to spare before they were closing and the squat racks were all taken up. I waited till one was free then had at it.
I actually thought the gym was closing at 11 today but it was closing at 10. I didn't realize this until I finished about 15-20min of foam rolling and some hip stretches. Still glad I foam rolled prior to training though. I always need it.
Wednesday June 4 Workout - Fullbody Routine - Day 1
So I opened with Front Squats. First time I've ever done these. Well I was disappointed to find out that I had ****ty mobility in my left arm due to the surgery I had. I figured It'd be fine enough to do front squats. My wrist killed the whole time on that side and I could not lift my elbow as high as the right side.
LOWER BODY
Front Squat
Warmed up with bar x 10
bar x 10 again
# x 6 (left wrist = pain / right wrist = totally fine)
# x 6 (left wrist = pain / right wrist = totally fine)
# x 6 (left wrist = pain / right wrist = totally fine)
I am not even going to write the poundage on this lift as I was severely disappointed. I need to learn how to do crossarm front squats, then I'll be in business. In the meantime, I'll need to work on that shoulder/wrist mobility.
RDL's (my hamstrings are kinda tight, so these were a bit inbetween SLDL & RDL's)
90 x 15
90 x 12
90 x 10
Note: first time deadlifting since before the surgery. My 1RM was 455 prior.
Note #2: I got to 455# on my 1RM deadlift, 3 months after starting them up after having excluded them for about 2yrs. Not worried about my #'s jumping back up. I got to 455 doing Starting Strength and then 5/3/1, within 3 months of starting very low.
CHEST
DB Incline Press (keeping weight low, volume high. Will increase weight 5 pounds per week)
warmed up with barbell
barbell x 10
barbell x 10
2 x 45 x 10
2 x 45 x 10
2 x 45 x 10
Machine Flies (cable machine was broken)
150 x 10
150 x 10
Shoulders / Traps
Clean & Press
Sped through this, didnt' get in my planned # of sets, had to move fast, 7 min left before gym closing, got warned 3 times
65 x 10
30s rest
65 x 8
Note: Left shoulder hurt a bunch, but no sh!t, I didn't get to warmup... ffs
BACK
Low Cable Rows
70 x 14
80 x 12
80 x 10
Wide Grip Lat Pulldowns
90 x 10
90 x 8
Had to rush out of the gym... got kicked out
Not the best workout, but at least I got it in tonight!
Repeating in 2 days, but with more volume, and adding in more lifts (arms, more back, etc). Gotta learn that crossarm front squat form for next time.
Weighed in at 230# tonight post workout. Down 10# since maybe a month ago. Water, etc, but I've gone down almost 2 belt sizes too. Liking the way I'm looking in the mirror. Something to note: I've been in ketosis 2 weeks now, but damn I still get a pump during my workout and am pretty vascular in my shoulders. Def due to the ped's though, even while lacking carbs/glycogen.
