Never heard that about red dye how did u figure that out?

Anything with excessive red dye just ends up giving me a headache, such as Crystal Light.
 
None of you bros have any critiques on the meet? Another lifter said I should lockout my knees faster, which is something I've heard Dan Green say. You cannot see it, but a side video showed the right knee rebending on the 650, causing the downward descent. I was having some wonky knee extension issues on that knee that day for some reason, just felt off.

My legs were sore as hell going into this, and now they don't function.
 
It honestly just looked heavy to me, man. Locking out those knees a bit earlier sounds right though. The Dude posted a video of some Russian dude and commented for me to do that as well. herderdude

After you pointed out the knee, the second attempt, although easy looking at first watch, you can see a slight buckle right at lockout. Maybe some heavy sumo block pulls in your future? Really just that last few inches.
 
@rob112 Block pulls sound like a good idea, just don't have access, maybe the new gym will.

I like that the weight is light enough on the axle cleans that you didn't have to continental clean it. Is that the comp weight?


For the "stone" load, don't stand up before lapping it. I doubt you'll be able to do that with a real stone, but I still wouldn't practice it that way. Just get it up high enough to sit back into the lap position, and with a real stone you'll have to hold it higher when you come out of the lap.

Farmers look good, but personally, I like to wear a belt on them.

I have no idea where the bar will start on the max acle c&p, I just emailed the meet director asking. I failed 210 due to the grip on double overhand, and failed continentaling it too.

Good to know, thanks. I realize it's not very similar, plus what I remember stone loading 4 years ago...that was the last time I loaded real stones.

I plan to on heavier sets and during the competition, just getting some extra core work.

Felt good, I used the widest grip available on the Rogue bar. The touch was a little weird as it would want to bobble a little on the chest as the rear touched first, then the front if I let it.

Welcome to my life. F them, they probably can't even pull 135 from the floor correctly. I hate people who tell you that you are working out too loudly, especially when we have education in the field. Like we don't know better.

Take it to the superior. Both of my gyms are also my place of employment but it's never my boss that yells at me. The one gym did chance policies now though stating no loud noises so it sucks. I have 2 new gyms to lift at now though.

I'm definitely going to have to lift at a different gym than I practice PT at once I'm out of school. Gota separate work from pleasure. Hopefully one day just have my own place.

455 was high the first 2 reps, but I'm not too upset about it, bc my left hip is my higher hip as well as I had 3 layers on (compression pants, neoprene shorts, and shorts) I think that was a PR. Especially considering how sore my back was from deadlifts on Monday, was feeling it on all sets about 315, hence the lack of accessory.

Holy hell 275 farmers are heavy, only made it 12.5m before I dropped out of the right hand. Felt like my right shoulder was getting pulled out of the socket, so did a lot of shoulder stability work.
 
Jesus those are heavy walks. Count that as shoulder traction maybe? lol

And no squat comments because I assumed you already knew what was off with the hips/depth. Butt shot back on the last rep.

Back was stiff from weekend road trip, so conventional wasn't feeling too hot. Was trying to explosively lock knees on the sumo, mixed feelings there.
 
Mixed feelings how?

I used to be lock out knees right before hips. With the explosive knee lockouts, I felt like I was left hanging with a lot of hip extension to finish and the bar out in front of me. Part of this is technique flaws, but not sure if I should change things up 3 weeks out. I can't be missing 650+ due to a knee rebent either.
 
Nah, probably not 3 weeks out. That's more of an offseason thing to do.

Yep, just got back to the states tonight.


Afraid to see my weight tomorrow morning...one last heavy session, then deload for strongman on Saturday.
jimbuick should I be doing anything other than my typical PL deload?
 
What do you normally do for your deload?

Just 50-60% 5x3 on the competition lifts typically, blood flow accessory work, then 2 full days off before the event day.
