Dave's Newest bulk into cut for show. AAS, SLIN and GH

Well ur not gonna believe it but it didn't include squats. I herniated a disk in my lower lumbar doing a warm up set of squats with 225 sometime when I was 24 I believe. It was due to a car accident when I was 18 tho, I was sitting at a light in the car with my family and got hit by an old man going 65mph, didn't hit the brakes. I could squat 565 for reps at the time, it was weird it happened during a warmup, but after that happened I haven't squated much since. I would usually start with leg press, but they pushed me so hard, the intensity and drive made a huge difference. The most I did was 1300lbs for 14 reps before I failed and they had to catch the weight. I remember doing ten reps and wanting to put it down and they wouldn't let me. I also do a lot of lunges. I usually grab 50s and walk the full length of the gym, usually about 28 steps. I usually do four sets. Back then I did hamstrings and quads on the same day and would finish with extensions and leg curls. Now I split the two muscle groups up. I don't do calves on quad day, I'm pretty drained after, I do them twice a week with hamstrings and my biceps/forearms day.

Oh i believe you about the squating! People think that squat is like the holy grail exercise for building raw mass for legs; but i honestly think there is so much more great exercises for legs! Not hating on BB squat, im just saying you can build insane legs without it. Thats my opinion though.

Edit- I also split my leg day also. It lets you put 100% into hammies and quads.

Since we're talking legs, what hamstring exercises do you guys do? On leg day I do squats, leg press, hack squat, extensions, and curls. Used to do RDLs but have been having lower back issues (I'm old lol). Any ideas on how to get more weight on the hammies?

Ever tried Russian hamstring curls?

SLDL
Leg press with feet high on platform
Standing leg curl using leg ext. machine
Seating leg curl
Lying leg curl
Wide stride lunges

Yes, you can focus on them both more this way. Squats are great for putting on size but put a lot of strain on the knees and lower back. I throw in some other exercises like the hack squat machine and a lot of days I'll do fst-7 at the end doing extensions for quad day. Hamstrings I usually do 4 sets laying curls and 4 sets seated curls. I go heavy but always try and stay over 12 reps. I usually work up to the whole stack.

Bulgarian split squats, barbell hip thrust, triple pulse lying curls, standing cable curls, and the almighty DEFECIT DEADLIFT

You should think about splitting your leg day, so you can put 100% into hamstrings and quads.

I've heard Jefferson squats will smash 'em good.

I like the ham killers they're pretty tough. Mountaindog1 is his youtube channel I'm sure he's got more hammy work there.

Fixed hahahaha
Hahaha, yeah, the guy that doesn't compete pushed me the hardest on eating. Mostly because I hung out with him the most outside the gym and he would bust my balls so hard about not eating enough. So hard. He would eat so much. We would get food and I would eat a normal portion or larger and he would order twice what I did and then pick on me. I remember one time I was picking at my food a little and he looks over and starts yelling "you're never gonna fu(kin grow if you keep eating like a pu$$y" with a full mouth of hamburger hahaha he said it with such intensity that his whole face turned red and he had veins about to pop on his neck

sometimes I drive to a further gym that has a standing leg curl and add it in with the other 8 sets, my hamstrings get wrecked on that day, it's worth the drive. I feel an intense squeeze when doing the standing ones

Yea, its a good exercise. Usually cant do much weight though, but its a unilateral exercise. Since your back injury, you probably dont squat at all or even deadlift correct?

yeah I honestly don't do much weight when standing either, they're fkcn hard. When I do squats I'll do them dead last exercise and do a ton of reps with 185. I don't deadlift, if I could I would. I mean I probably could but I can get the development I need doing other things without risking blowing that disk out again. When you've done it once it's easier to have it happen again, which it hasn't, thankfully, I spent months recovering from that.

Great suggestions, I've been thinking about splitting hams and quads lately, sounds like the right move. We have a hammer strength leg curl machine at my gym, it's the only one I can get enough weight on. The ham killers look awesome. Thanks guys

Can you explain them? Never heard of them.

I use my leg extension machine to hold me in place, but while kneeling you can either have some one hold your ankles or have then weighted, then lean as far forward as you can while keeping your shoulders, hips, and knees in a straight line, try not to bend at the hips. It's a killer. First few times I tried it I thought my hamstrings were going to cramp. You can do variations on them, but they're a lot hard than GHR.

Ugh, I did SLDL today, hoping it would get the knot out of my a**.

Hey Dave, I'm going to do an NPC physique in a year or so. I'm aware of how they judge but I'd rather go in too diced/too big and look good. I'm curious how much of an impact you felt the GH and slin had on this cycle. I've got enough gear for the next 2-3 bulks and precontest. I've always been interested in some conservative slin use but running GH long enough to see results may be out of my price range. So just wondering if you could do without them along with aas or they made a critical impact on your show prep.

Stick to the aas bro. If anything else GH. Slin won't be needed if you are doing physique. I used it to add a little mass and experiment. I am using a vicious slin blast protocol in my off season to hit 240. But for what you are doing honestly its to much risk and not needed. AAS and diet with moderate GH use can get you there easy.

It impacted my physique but not as much as the gh and aas did with my diet. It wasn't needed but it was fun and I learned to use it for my next bulk in the off season. Mainly just a learning experience.

For around $500 I can get something like 200 iu's. So it'd be like 3 grand to run legit GH for 6 months at beginner doses. Been looking at peptides too. Sorry for the boring topic and threadjack. Your progress has been impressive and I'm coming along pretty well lately and ready for the next step. Thanks for the input.

ur forgiven, this is something I'm interesting in hearing the feedback on, never used GH before, don't plan on ever using insulin tho haha

I will run GH beginning in may/June for probably the next 50 years so any input anyone has on growth is more than appreciated.

F**k leg days. Completely pointless, besides, all chicks want are big arms and a nice chest ;)

Seems like with shipping/pins/growth/accessories it should be around 10k a year to run at proper doses. I'm wondering if a men's clinic that partially takes insurance will save me any $

Also take into account pharma grade versus china HGH. There is a definite difference and their are plenty of people who can attest for that on other forums where HGH use is more frequent. If you are going China HGH you should probably double the dose. I've come across many people saying that 8IU of china genetics felt similar to 4IU of pharma grade. Apparently, the price of human pharma is worth it.

I will chime in on this tonight when I'm not on my phone.

*Edit* As of right now there has been a rise in US domestic GH and let me tell you. The potency is out of control

R u gonna run 191aa or 192aa..
I'm continuing for 6 months...
( I'm 2 months into it on the 8th of this month, at 2units/day)

Eh-ehm! And what about Matthersby, Slappz? I'm the guy asking about growth..... :/

sorry bud, didn't mean to make you feel excluded.

most gh should be around $2 an iu. i've seen some serono and evogene kits for $4-5 per iu, but that's u.s. made Rx grade FDA approved shiz

i like the idea of using peptides and gh. you get a blast of your own natty gh and then 30 min later hit exogenous gh. i think it would actually be cheaper in the long run. i just picked up 3, 5mg vials of peps (5mg cjc mixed with 5mg ghrp) for less than $90, so that makes each hit of peps like $0.60.

chew on them numbers

I have my own theories on peptides and this stuff. Its a little against the grain.
