new quest bar flavor!?

I'm curious about this as well...

Problem is the starch. I'm not insider to Quest, I just know my experiments with the starch they use. its a special heat tolerant starch that has something of a newtonian fluid effect, ie texture i sensitive to moisture content. So would be extremely how to predict texture depending on water and temp boiled out. Only way I can see that working is preworked in baggies like some of rice-i-roni type premade meals.

I came up with a ridiculously easy (and very yummy) recipe in the recipes section

I would love to see high protein ice cream... I still can't figure out why this isn't available yet

Trying my ice cream maker today for the first time. How long does this bowl have to sit in the freezer? Does it really take 12-16 hours? Insane lol they should have a higher end one that plugs in and freezes by itself rapidly.

Yeah. That is the crappy part for sure. No less than 12 hours bro

I make these so dang often that I bought a second bowl lolol. So that one is always frozen and ready to go

I think it was like $20 :(

If u use this often (like me, daily!) it's money well spent

Digital. If the bowl isn't totally frozen then it won't work. So the longer the better.

Guys, I just bought a box of the new Cookies and Cream Quest bars. I'll eat one and report back before the night is over. Just to give you guys a heads up, my tier system with Quest bar flavors is: 1. Double Chocolate Chunk or Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough 2. Raspberry White Chocolate 3. Apple Pie or Mixed Berry My review will be based on the above. To be continued.... Edit: Cookies and Cream smells exactly like the name says. The texture is very well pronounced with chunks of cookies. The taste is pretty good. I'll put it right below Cookie Dough. If Cookie dough is your favorite this will probably will be your 2nd favorite.

I'd rename it: Oreo Quest

Just made the ice cream went a little buck wild lmao. I used egg beaters coconut milk Greek yogurt coconut flakes cinnamon, cinnamon roll protein cookiesn cream protein pecans some broken up pieces of 90% cacao chocolate, Splenda and a a hand full of blueberries ahahahaha. Youre over thinking this. Blended frozen bananas is enough to make 1 ingredient ice cream, adding protein powder makes it 2.

Gets expensive lol

Have some on the way can't wait to give it a try.

Haha :P

Being a low carb disciple (tons of fibrous greens, high fiber tortillas, flax, nuts, etc) - I eat so much fiber I have a part time job and tha'ts going to the bathroom

A lot of fiber is not good for you and your system and will actually lead to negative side effects
I highly suggest you read up and understand this to prevent prolonged problems.

you'll be fine
I still think it would be highly unlikely you exceed 25g fiber daily

here we go again :D
"a lot of fiber.." -- what the hell IS a lot of fiber? you need to quantify this, rather than making a subjective statement
I take over 30 pills a day....to some ppl, this is a LOT! a sh1t-ton!
and to others, it is a drop in the bucket because they're taking 60/70/80 on up daily

throw some figures out there

Could one of you link to the thread you referenced on fibre intake? Just curious what could happen if recommended intake is regularly exceeded, as I do

Well the detrimental effects of excessive fiber are relative to your baseline intake. If you handle higher intakes for long periods of time, then your normal may be someone else's excess

Recommended dose for men is around 38. I wouldn't go above 50.

This.....

"Cramping

Cramping occurs because the body cannot properly break down fiber. If too much fiber is consumed, food digestion can be momentarily slowed or even stopped. This can lead to intestinal cramping and discomfort.

Diarrhea

If you increase your fiber intake too suddenly, then your body will not have enough time to adjust. One of the biggest benefits of fiber is that it increases the speed in which food moves throughout the digestive tract. By consuming too much fiber, you may increase this speed too much, which can lead to diarrhea.

Malabsorption

According to Colorado State University, because fiber binders to other foods, fiber could bind to nutrients and eliminate these minerals and vitamins without the body being able to absorb them. By eating too much fiber, you may interfere with how your intestines absorb certain minerals. Often, too much fiber can lead to the malabsorption of calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc. Despite this side effect, this malabsorption is typically so minimal that it does not cause for much concern.

Constipation

If you eat too much fiber without enough water, then you may become constipated. The body’s digestive tract requires fluids to help move things along. If you do not have enough fluids in your system, then your intestines will not be able to work properly and you may become constipated.

Intestinal Gas

By eating too much fiber in a short amount of time, you may experience flatulence, bloating and intestinal gas. This occurs as a reaction the natural bacteria in your digestive tract has to the fiber. To avoid this side effect, simply gradually increase your fiber intake so the natural bacteria can adjust to the fiber.

Intestinal Blockage

An intestinal blockage would be the worst side effect you could get from consuming too much fiber. This occurs when an individual eats too much fiber and does not consume enough water. Fiber can cause a blockage in the intestines, preventing any other foods to get past. Intestinal blockages can be serious health conditions and may require surgery.

Imbalanced Nutrition
If you’re eating too much fiber and neglecting other nutrients in the process, you may develop nutritional deficiencies over time. Many foods that are high in fiber typically contain plenty of carbohydrates but not much fat or protein, for example, salad greens or whole grain bread. To avoid an imbalance, also eat protein-rich foods and healthy fats at each major meal and stick with the AHA’s recommendation of eating about 25 grams of fiber daily.

Digestive Discomfort

Fiber has a reputation for aiding digestion – and it does. But if you eat too much fiber or increase the amount you eat too rapidly, it can have the opposite effect. According to Mayo Clinic physicians, excess fiber can cause gas, bloating, cramping, diarrhea and abdominal discomfort. In very severe and rare cases, too much fiber can even cause intestinal blockage. You may be able to prevent digestive discomfort from excess fiber if you slowly increase the amount you eat over several weeks rather than making a big change all at once.

Mineral Absorption
The National Institutes of Health reports that regularly eating too much fiber can inhibit your body’s successful absorption of some minerals, such as iron, zinc, magnesium and calcium. According to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, insoluble fiber is more likely to cause mineral absorption issues than soluble fiber, which is able to absorb water and other fluids.

Just like Anything else in life
More of something is not always better, there is a fine medium between too much and optimal amount, You cannot take a ton of supplements and expect miracles

you cant take multiple fat burners and expect to lose fat
You cant take a ton of test boosters and expect gains

etc....

Same goes with fiber, nutrition, training, cardio etc.

Well the detrimental effects of excessive fiber are relative to your baseline intake. If you handle higher intakes for long periods of time, then your normal may be someone else's excess

Think this is a good take away. I consume alot of fiberous greens on top of taking ALOT of fiber added to move the quanity of meat, cheese, and whey I take in. There would be comical bordering painful amount of gas for most people doing my dosage.

I still think it would be highly unlikely you exceed 25g fiber daily

It is very possible and easy to get 25 grams of fiber in daily with a clean diet. I consistently average 25 grams (recommended for women) and I'm sure I eat less than most of you.

A high fiber tortilla here, broccoli , blackberries etc all adds up fast!

Haven't tried the WCR (not a big raspberry fan) and I like it better than the CCCD.

I'm not a Rasberry fan either because I don't like tart things however I surprisingly like the wcr more than the cccd
