Ruck up sucka! iparatroop's permanent training home.

I wouldn't say so. You're quite a bit bigger than me from what I've seen. .

I was just joshin bro. You have gotten a hell of a lot bigger over the past year man. I just meant because I've been hanging around 185 5' 9" lately (until my body decided it was bulking season...lol).

Looking great bro. I haven't run a sub 6 mile in a few years.... you almost make me miss it... then I remember distance running is something I hate.

jinxie, he definitely has done some training for size and power to develop that yoke. He has only been doing the X-Fit for the last 6 weeks or so and was in the 190s and relatively lean already.

Yeah, I can see, and I am joking about all the "being yoked despite Xfit talk." First, I could give a **** what someone else does to stay fit, as long as they are doing something. No judgment from me, pretty much ever in that regard. This is just my envy manifesting, lol.

Actually, and perhaps ironically, I also am blessed with genes that allow me to stay pretty thick with light, weight, high rep work, largely because I've been in this game so long, and muscle memory and all that shyte. :)

You, my man, are another Rollins-esque beast, which I say with great deference.

One mile =s distance running. Def. a powerlifter, lol. ;)

That's a sprint for us little, <170 guys. :)

I ran XC, track, played football, and PL'd lifted all at the same time/within a short period of time. It wasn't uncommon to run 6 miles or so daily in XC. A mile is most definitely distance, just not long distance haha. 400 and under is a sprint. ;)

Big Country, I was just effin' with you. Yes, a mile is distance if you are a track runner. It's all relative. :)

If I can't be as big as you, at least allow me to sound fast, quick and like I know some stuff aside from PLing. ;) Otherwise, I may just have to throw caution to the wind and get hyooge in a few weeks, just to show you what's up, what an old man with a storied past can accomplish in very little time! ;)

I am still recovering from my 43-hour work binge, and am barely able to form intelligible sentences, so take it easy on me today. Moreover re Young-Buck Jim. I can't keep up with the quick and unrelenting wit of you youngsters. ;)

Haha wasn't trying to go hard on you, just wanted to make sure I keep you on your toes... er, power chair wheels!

LOL. Must I remind you, I have old my strength, and at least once was a helluva grappler, and have earned my many, many scars, so easy there young man. ;)

And yeah, you're a bit large to be going hard on me. No homo.

Man Trooper, sorry that I've destroyed your log. At least many are devoted to me swooning over your sexiness though, lol.

Fair enough! You wrestle, mma? BJJ, Judo, Muy Thai?

Mostly freestyle, a little Greco-Roman. All that other stuff became popularized here when my hair was already graying, lol. Because of my connective-tissue disorder, I had to stop in college. I didn't know anything more then, than that my shoulders dislocated all the time. That was helpful when I was really young, the hyper-mobility that is, but not when it started resulting in dislocations causing separations.

So yeah, I am mostly just talking about my glory-days, long past. But I do still have old-man strength, and can handle myself -- for a little guy, that is. ;)

Alright Big Country, time to move up to the next victim, in your weight and age class, lol.

What up brotha from another mother...

Looking lean and mean my friend. Freakin awesome changes...

Alright, I'm back. Had to head out to the east coast for a few days to take care of some things and that took me away from the forum. I will update a little later today with workout info and all that.

Went in in the evening and did some squat work, high rep, lowish weight. Worked up to 285 for double digits.
Also did some competition prep (deadlifts and double unders). Was pretty beat at that point.

Also went in in the evening and did some overhead work (standing OHP).
Worked on cleans and got some good tips and instruction from some legit oly lifters. Used 165 as my practice weight and with proper technique it's damn easy.

I may post more pics from time to time. There's a competition this weekend that I'm participating in so I'm sure I'll get some pics there. I have quite a few logs to catch up on, you can expect to see me in yours. Travel safe bud.

That's an epic amount of work!

Kill it!

I love you.

Yeah buddy let's ****ing go.

Workout 1 down (sucky)
10 Burpees box jump overs (20" box)
15 thrusters@95lbs
30 double unders
We finished 7 rounds plus 23 reps or something. Think we are in the top half so far.
Workout 2 starting now.

Workout 2&3 combined:
Establish 1RM DL within 12 minutes while rowing at the same time.
Me and the other dude combined for 870 on the DL. I blew it though by not announcing the weight of my final pull (375) so I got credit for 355. Either way, semi happy to pull that. We rowed 3100+ meters.

Workout 4 (chipper) 18min cap:
75 pullups
100 KB swings (55 for males, 35 for females)
100 back squats (115/75)
100 shoulder to overhead (115/75)
100 front rack lunges (115/75)
75 pullups

We finished 28 pullups shy. I'm smoked.

My assessment of crossfit competitions, and crossfit is as follows:

1. Extremely supportive in nature. There are "elitists", but fcuk em.
2. Extremely competitive.
3. Expensive
4. Very easy for someone with no experience to get injured. With the proper "on ramp" program though, that can be alleviated.
5. It's fun, and a good experience. I did keep my shirt on. I can't say that for everyone else.

Oh, and out of 50 teams, I'm not sure but I think we were in the top half. We'll see when the results post.

Nice work man. Sounds awesome.

Now most important... Did you have a good time?!

Damn, that's some intense shît! Nice work!

Congrats iPara! Nice work man. XFit is killer!

That whole thing sounds too much like work.

And, I benched Wilson for Brady this week. We'll see if I regret that tonight lol.

Solid work dude
Definitely. Good looking WODs right there. Thinking about heading in that direction
Thanks guys. I'm trying.
What's your diet looking like currently? You've got to be a damn furnace burning through everything.
My diet is basically eat what I want (within reason, of course). I don't eat fast food or anything like that and I don't have a set meal plan. Some days I crave noodles, so I eat them, and some days I crave avocado, so I eat them too. I don't ever go crazy overboard on anything, I'm just basically listening to my body on what I need to eat. I'm consuming about 3200 cals a day though and I'm still losing weight.
That's an epic amount of work! Happy Turkey Day!
thanks bud, sorry i'm not really the festive type. Just another day for me.
Happy thanksgiving fellas! Turkey and beers today, back to the iron tomorrow!
yup, hope you guys enjoyed your Thursday.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
you too buddy, albeit a bit late.
