First, let me say that math is not my strong suit, I'm a history major.

I bought a rice cooker finally and decided to make some rice for the week. I used 10 servings of dry rice, each serving is 49 grams. So total, I had 490 dry. Once the rice was cooked, I ended up with 1,218 grams cooked. So it's roughly roughly 2.49 grams of added weight. So, would I be correct in assuming 49 grams now equals 122.01 grams? Sorry, for the stupid, elementary question.

For those that need a visual

Started with 490 grams, ended with 1,218 grams. Dry serving size is 49 grams.

1,218/490=2.49
2.49x49-122.01

All I do when I make a large pot if rice like that is take the end weight and divide it by how many servings I did because with rice it comes down to timing and how much water you use. You could make another batch and let it cook 5 mins longer and you would get a different weight

Cook 5 servings, get 5 containers, and equally portion out. Simple.
If your off by a few g's its not going to kill you when you portion off, maybe put into 5 containers for 10 servings and eyeball them equally and then use that .

what i do is use dry measurements, then i use a scale to weigh the cooked rice and divide into whatever servings i want...also when i cook in bulk i dont track daily cals i track weekly cals. if i cook 2lbs of chicken and consume it in a weeks time then i know exactly how much i had

1218/10 = 121.8g

So 121.8g cooked rice equals 49g dry rice
