I feel like you could be loading your lats a little better. I see them flexing and unflexing in the video. Ideally, we'd like them to be tight and flared the whole time. When I bring it out of the rack, I pull it down until my lats "lock up" if that makes any sense. That's a little bit below my pec line. I take it as far as my lats will let me, then the weight will be carried in your lats instead of your shoulder.

That's the only thing I can see. I hope that helps.
 
It does and that's actually one of the cues I didn't think of this go around. Thanks for spotting that. "Drive through legs, belly full of air, heals down, squeeze butt" I think loading up my lats will keep me from bring that bar down so fast too

Edit: That's gotta be it. I'm thinking now how it felt coming down. Lats went loose, bar traveled down and it feels like I almost caught with my lats or engaged them just as I went to push.
 
Yeah. It was such a nice feeling the first time I got it right. It was like, "Oh, that doesn't hurt like it usually does, and what is this spring action?"

My cues are heels, spread the bar the whole time, and belly up. My back is what's holding my bench back. Still can't stay tight under maximal weights. Try to limit the number of cues. When you are getting something consistently right, cross it off the list.

Spreading the bar is what's going to help with your lats and even more so your tricep involvement (i.e. keeping elbows in while pressing).
 
Have you ever done decline BB bench? I feel this teaches how the lats should be flexed perfectly.

Any sites you guys recommend to get a weight training belt. Never used one, but I'm thinking its about time that I got one.

I forgot about APT too. Ex-marine owns it. I told him I had a meet 3-4 days out when I ordered stickum spray and he didnt charge extra for expedited shipping.

I love my BestBelt. :)

Sick lifts today! Maybe drive the knees out a little bit to open up into the hole but dang serious poundage. :cool:

I've got the EliteFTS P2 lever coming, but haven't gotten it yet. Couldn't beat the deal (86 bones+ship).
 
hmmmm 2 week stim break and then alphamine. i don't think I'm going to bed early!

Looks like someone beat the crap out of me as well.
