Snag gets FINAFLEXed on Road to Nationals

back by popular demand..
I was ready for some down time after my last log, but noooo such luck since my fans (all 2 of you - you know who you are) want to see me front & center LOL
I really have no business starting a log but what the hell..

quick update to catch ya'll up on the last month:
I had just finished a nice little off-season log with 3 weeks of quick-cut to end it, was in pct and doing well, when all of the sudden one night my hemorrhoids just exploded into a sea of pain and agony..I've dealt with them bastages for yrs (over a decade) but never anything that approached this kind of pain; srs, I was praying for a speedy death before I broke down and got whisked into ER.. doc told me my case was among the worst he had ever seen in his 30+yrs, I even had some necrotic tissue down there

and here we are about another 3 weeks later, still healing but not too bad (surprised that it takes this long, I have always been a very rapid healer), was able to start working out again this past SAT and today will be my 4th session (back/arms this day). strength has been hiding bigtime, but that's okay it'll make its presence known when it's ready..getting stamina back up to speed, getting comfortable in my lifts and just back in the groove are the priorities at this point


so where will this log go? actually this should be much fun..

I don't know if I can pull off a national show now, things were already piling up on me well before I got KOd by hemmys, but i'm certainly gonna give it my best shot..i'll drop some training parameters here & there, explain some of my beliefs & philosophies

this will also be your one-stop-shop for news from the world of Finaflex, maybe i'll drop some inside info on upcoming releases and other goodies..

so climb aboard with snag, grab some popcorn, and get comfy cuz we gonna be here awhile

yeah how prescient I was when I saw you that one time and said, "surgery is in my near future"?..

I was just making conversation, but godayyumm :shocked:

it was the stress of you stalking me everywhere else that caused the flare-up in the first place!

Lol I literally thought the same exact thing when u emailed me and said you had to go to get surgery that morning! You should be a weather man!

Damn. That sucks. I had a flare up recently. Started day before playoff series. Couldn't hardly sit for a couple days.
"flare up" is the understatement of the century..wish that I could have only not sit
I couldn't lay down..couldn't breathe without pain
it was pretty horrendous
my only question is: who decides when they're a kid, that they want to be a colon-rectal specialist when they grow up?

getting ready to nail me some chest/back combo action here in a few..
considering what protocol I wish to use going forward, thinking about massively shaking things up, dropping into a 3x weekly schematic of all power for awhile..i'm warming up to this actually, will allow me to get my tennis in during the early summer months and then if I pick a nationals show toward end of summer i'll have time to up the weightroom activity in nice fashion

I am going to try a FST-7 type protocol for a bit see what it's like. I have used a 3 split which might be a bit heavy some days so adjustments may need to be used.

Ur going to need to split those days up :) look at my log for fst 7 setup on page one
 
Yah then it's a no go...

It could get manuvered into 4 days a week but that makes for work workouts. Chest/quads Arm/Hams Back Shoulders. I used this for a while and liked it but the sessions were pretty long.

I could lower the volume some, I don't need any direct trap work as a matter of fact I need to avoid it. I could let some go till Saturday for a 4th day no problem... yah it's doable.

5x5 bent bb rows or cable rows

Hahaha! This is true. Sh1t grows like wild fire too. I've never shaved my chest but the wife nairs my back and it's back within like 2 weeks everytime lol

carbs are anywhere from 200-400, fats ~65-75, protein always high

first time thru this segment of the workout in my new heavy-ass 5x5 protocol, been awhile since I worked this heavy on these movements..kinda in suspense myself on how i'll do :nervous:

mmm not much impresses me about myself anymore lol :p
but yeah man - was not a bad session at all, once I got the feel of things a few sets in
I won't be setting any PRs anytime soon, but progress is progress :yup:

I impressed myself today. Forgot how sobering it is to train triceps immediately after heavy presses :) consider me humbled lol.
