I've been thinking about checkin out a few routines. Here good things about wendlers. I may have to do some research.

Well, I've been getting a lot of help from Rodja to zero in on the routine that will benefit me the most. I think I've got it. Coupled with my effective dieting and this kick@ss stack I'm running, I have a good feeling my body comp will look better than it ever has!

MEASUREMENTS

Everything is the same except my chest is down an inch, wtf? Weight is 184.2 (+.4) from last week. I'm not too worried about that because I felt like I had lost too much weight from the previous week so now I'm averaging a little over a pound a week. I just don't get how I could be a whole inch down on my chest but the same everywhere else and weight is pretty much the same.

At any rate, today is a refeed so I'm going to stock up on carbs and prepare myself for a killer week in the gym.

*Placed my feet high and wide, focusing on pressing with emphasis on my hams.

*Instead of going full stretch, I focused on just breaking the plane and then bursting up into a hard flex for a second before lowering slowly. Activated my calves in a way I'd never felt before and had massive pumps

OBSERVATIONS
I couldn't do any cardio because I had to be in work a little earlier today. But I definitely had a good sweat going which takes a lot for me to do. I definitely felt a bit alpha today. Just a "I'm going to conquer these weights today" kind of mentality. A little disappointed in my measurements but I'm not going to let it bother me. I've got plenty of time to see improvements and I'm confident they will come.
 
Nice leg day bro. I wouldn't sweat that measurement issue. Could be a number of variables. If your strength feels good and weight is consistent then I wouldn't worry at all.

Feeling alpha is win!

I wouldn't take measurements more frequently than once a month. There really isn't a lot that is going to happen each week.
 
Thanks fellas...needed the encouragement. Gonna leave the measuring tape alone until the end of week 4 then again after week 8.

I would definitely do that. A simple carb up or cheat meal alone could cause a big variance and want necessarily prove to be your actual reading. Are you making sure to measure under same circumstances each time? Whether it be fasted in morning or full before bed. Even after a carb up or after a few low carb days. Just make sure each time it's under same circumstances.

Yeah man...I always measure first thing in the morning on sunday. Saturdays are an off day so carbs are low. I refeed on sundays after I measure, so I'm pretty carb depleted by this time. This way I should get the most accurate readings without influence of diet. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and see what comes about. If I'm not happy with progress after week 4 then I'll tweak things a bit and go from there.
 
My wife and I brought a new baby girl into the world today! Good thing it was an off day anyway so I didn't have to miss her birth lol. Anyway, gonna be a few days before I get back on track but I'll keep posting. Will probably be able to slip away while wife and baby are napping to hit some weights. It'll be a little harder to track my diet but I did make sure to pack my supps so I won't miss a beat. :-) In fact, the Alphamine played a big part in giving me energy to make it through the day after no sleep last night!

Hmmm, that is what I was going to ask about. No clue. Take all indicators of progress with a grain of salt. It's only when you combine measurements, body weight, strength/performance, and changes in the mirror that you'll get an accurate picture of where you're headed.

I don't think ink need a carb up day for a couple weeks. I am going to try to go in today and at least get my 5/3/1 sets. We'll see how it goes. I'm off the rest of this week so I can still get all my workouts in for the week.

I don't think ink need a carb up day for a couple weeks. I am going to try to go in today and at least get my 5/3/1 sets. We'll see how it goes. I'm off the rest of this week so I can still get all my workouts in for the week.

Okay I'm back at it! Went to the gym this morning despite the fact that I'm running on very little sleep. I just couldn't put it off anymore. Especially since I weighed in 3lbs heavier this sunday from last week.

So this starts week 4 of this log which would normally be a deload week for 5/3/1 but since I didn't get in the gym at all last week, I'm going to finish my 5/3/1 week with the core exercises and work on finding an accurate 1RM for the main accessory exercise since it's set to do reps of a percentage. This sunday I will weigh in, measure, take some pics, and prepare for a hardcore push through the final 4 weeks of this cycle. Also, next week will begin my true Wendler's routine for full body strength gains.

Thanks buddy...my workout wasn't as intense as usual but I'm definitely getting a good idea of what my routine will be starting next week at which point it will be on! I do like the shape my body is taking on and I'm able to wear my "tight" shirts again. Also started wearing my skinny belt today. :-) So progress is definitely being made! I like that I'll be hitting upper body twice and lower body twice a week. Plus I'll be incorporating more specific core work whereas before I wasn't. Gonna have these abs POPPIN' this summer!
