breezy's training, supplementation, and food log

Well that blows..

Sure does. I might need to replace the battery as well (replacement phone doesn't come with one). I spliced open a USB cable and am going to try "jumping it" lol...I heard it works.

I'd be lost without mine. I use it for.... everything

Same here. I didn't have my alarm this morning, music and Jefit for my workout, or easy access to email, AM, and myfitness pal. Hopefully I'll be good to go tomorrow.

So going modified MD now, ehh? I'm about to start my cut and love my DC but have never really done it full on while cutting. Kind of makes me nervous to try. I know of MD the heart rate stays up the whole time

Yeah for now. That's why I haven't completely moved on yet; it seems to go well with my current goal. Today I took out some frustration with an entire arm workout using 10 seconds rest. It was basically one giant superset...felt amazing.

Ha 10 sec rest for everything??? Your a beast brother. I keep forgetting to throw together phase 3 workouts so I've been doing a hybrid MD style. Throw some more power presses and stretches in but keepin the sets/reps high and rest periods low. I might hit you up this weekend for a little phase 3 help.

Haha It was intense. I think I finally figured out how to get legit bicep DOMS lol. They're already getting sore and were twitching for a while after my workout. Hit me up. I didn't think I'd like the low volume of phase 3, but the intensity made it my favorite phase.

I have been doing 8x8 (@ 3-4 exercises per body part) for a couple of weeks.. with 10-15 max rest... Doms are horribly great!!!

Yeah, I've let everyone know as well. 2 scoops is my sweet spot.Mission accomplished
Check my log on the home board if you want another one which includes zombies. :)
Crazy how dependent we are on our technology isn't it. An extended loss of power as you felt not too long ago, is traumatic in itself.... but I'd feel lost without 'gadgets'..
We are ridiculously dependent on it... If you take away my laptop I can no longer work, study/do homework, basically I can't be productive. That one small item is so critical to me. I think for most people the main thing is their phone.
Thanks man. It was tough. The video is from a few months ago and I think was posted in my last log. It's not the best form (chest was hurting at that point), but should still give you a decent idea of how to do them. You lower your body (while keeping arms straight) and raise back up by flexing your chest.
Interesting, basically like reverse shrugs but for chest. I might have to try these...

Haha I bet. I plan on trying it again, but probably not with legs.

Ha I'll be over there shortly.

I'm having all kinds of problems without my phone...including keeping up with AM.

That's exactly what they are. Do it!

10sec rest periods? That sounds very difficult. 30sec already goes by too fast...

Yeah, it was. The only time I put down the dumbbells, rope, barbell, etc. was when I needed to change the weight.

4/18/13

As previously mentioned, today's workout was done using short rest periods from start to finish. I waited 10 seconds between sets and moved quickly from one exercise to the next. This approach, combined with OEP powder and Agmatine 500, caused a whole lot of sweat and a ridiculous/painful pump. I was very happy and somewhat surprised with my strength endurance while working at this pace. There were a few exercises that needed the weight reduced on the later sets, but not to the extent that I was expecting. I had a ton of fun and probably scared a few people with my crazy pace lol.

I don't have my numbers because I use my phone to record them, but I do remember the sets and reps performed.

Thanks bolt. I thought so too :).

Nice avi kbayne . Thank you sir.

I unexpectedly didn't have to work today, but was able to get to the gym. I'm spending the day visiting family and should have a workout update later. Hopefully I'll have a working phone at that point as well.

4/19/13

I used shortened rest periods again, but not like yesterday. I was working legs and 10 seconds rest on all sets didn't seem like a good idea. Sweat was pouring down my face shortly after the session began and I was drenched when finished. I got my new phone up and running (using it now), but didn't have it to record my numbers.

I ran out of X-Factor today, but will be starting AP and PowerFULL. I'll be doing FTP with AP pre-workout (and before carb meals) and taking PowerFULL before bed. I may use a cap of PF pre-workout as well.

Glad you got your phone. I learn more new stuff when you have it.

Me too. I like to put "custom" exercises in jefit prior to my workouts. I lost a ton that were added over the last 3 months because I didn't sync my account...I'll I had to do was press "sync" lol.

Nice workouts, volume looks intense. I notice it more when you put 5x 10. That must be pain.

Thanks Jiigzz. Beginning the arm session with 5x10 of both reverse EZ curls and rope pushdowns (using 10 seconds rest) starts the process...they get my arms full of blood, then the rest of the workout is "pain" lol.

Loving the sig!

Also kbayne's avi!

Thanks dude!

New stack time! I'd definitely use the PowerFULL® pre-workout as well if you're training fasted.

Yup! I've really been missing AP and PowerFULL. 2 caps were used before cardio this morning. ;)

Def two supps that will always be in my cupboard :-)

Breezy have u tried G8 for sleep yet? One of the only ones I've never tried.

I haven't tried it either. I've seen good feedback on it though.

No gym today, but I did some cardio on the bike this morning.

Pre fasted cardio supplementation:

2 scoops OEP powder
1 cap VERSA-1
2 caps Compound20
2 caps PowerFULL
1 cap AP
1g ALCAR

1 scoop (1/2 serving) Modern BCAA+ was used ~30 minutes following cardio.

I had planned on doing 45 minutes LISS, but got bored with it. My session broke down as follows:

25 minutes low intensity
1 minute high intensity cycles x7
5 minutes low intensity

I finally started the BBB and the 5 x 15 for squats is borderline torture for me lol.

I am chuckling as I write. How is the cardio going Breezy ? Finding a liking to it yet or is it still just a necessary evil. I go like the variety though. Summers coming soon and outdoor running should be fun.

I think high rep squats are borderline torture for everyone lol...deads too.

Lol. Crazy huh? I believe it'd been over a year without any cardio. It's not bad once I'm done haha. I like that I can eat a little more having burned some extra calories. My daily intake is getting close to 3500, which to me feels like I'm barely eating lol.

Breezy have you tried listening to audio books or reading paper books on the bike? For years I would just listen to music but eventually found that those passed the time faster for LISS. Maybe even try downloading a training/diet seminar or radio show that you're interested in to listen to while pedaling.

Last night was my last of PowerFULL... getting anxiety thinking about a sh|t sleep tonight! lol...

Glad to see the B's got 2 today...

I know what you're going through lol. I've already noticed a difference in how I feel waking up; it's awesome. I actually had and remembered a dream last night as well. I was grocery shopping in a giant warehouse...with my skates on lol. I was skating around while everyone else was on foot...great time lol.

As am I.

I haven't done either, but that's a good idea. I think the majority of my LISS will be done on my bike at home and any cardio at the gym will be HIIT. I did 45mins LISS a couple hours ago while watching TV. Time went by pretty fast.

I tried T.V. and movies, but I always got bored and/or couldn't hear the show because of the noise from the cardio equipment. Something different for everyone. Try some different things and maybe you'll find something that really works well for you.

Yeah, I'll definitely try reading. I have a few books that I've been wanting to start.

4/21/13

I weighed 210.4lbs this morning (-6.6lbs overall/-1.2lbs from a week ago).

AP and PowerFULL were added to my pre-workout supplements (VERSA-1, OEP, C20, ALCAR). I waited until after my workout to use MBCAA+ (experimenting :))

I kept my rest periods to about 30 seconds throughout my workout.

Band Over and Backs (Dislocations) / 3D Band Pull Aparts
4 sets: 10 / 12

Cage Press (leaning in)
135x10, x10 partials
135x8, x8 partials
135x7, x8 partials

-These were tough on short rest. The way this exercise hits my shoulders and traps is somewhat similar to the reverse machine press with partials.

Thanks to AZMIDLYF for posting this video in the training forum (I hadn’t seen it before). I didn’t rest the bar down between reps, but it shows a good example of the partials.

10 / 12
10 / 12

I waited until 2 hours after my fast breaking meal to do 45 minutes LISS. A scoop of OEP was taken prior.

Another epic workout bro! I gotta try those rack scrape presses.

Thanks man! I really enjoy them. Let me know what you think.

Here's a little article about them:

lol, love dreams where I am playing hockey. I can dangle with the best of them in my dreams lol

Going to be trying the Cage Presses this week. They look intense with those partials :D.

45 mintues of LISS :(. I haven't done LISS in a good minute. If I had my own bike at my house, I would probably do it more often.

Lol. I hadn't had one in a while.

What is the benefit to using PowerFULL preworkout? I thought it was best taken at night?

By the way - another fine workout...

This is the first time that I'll be using it pre-workout consistently (have done it occasionally) and will still use it at night as well. Since I'm not eating close to my workout, I'll be able to take advantage of the potential GH increase (in addition to dopamine increase) and its benefits. I've noticed that it seems to put me in a great mood and enhance my focus/mind-muscle connection. I'm trying to maximize my fat burning potential as well :).

Thanks wasme.

I bet you'll love them. They're pretty tough; 135lbs is a challenge for me.

My bike is fairly old, but it gets the job done. Yeah, it's very convenient.

I stuck with the fast pace and kept all rest periods to 30 seconds. This was quite a challenge with today’s session. I was out of breath and sweating profusely the majority of my time in the gym. My back is already starting to feel sore, as it’s not accustomed to this type of assault.

-I thought I was going to drop when these were done. I’m still very congested and can’t breathe as easy as I’d like. Thankfully it took me a minute to put the weights back, which allowed me to catch my breath.

I’ll be doing cardio later today.

Hell, that's a HIIT session in itself... it is no surprise to see that once more you just f***in' killed it!
