Do you guys think a 160 lb Dumbbell Curl is impressive?

Did you read what I said earlier? Cel comes across as if his way is the only correct way, yet that is NOT true. He is a powerlifter so his needs will be different for someone such as a bodybuilder or a performance athlete.

Sure, it may be true that bicep strength is not of significant importance in his sport, but for those of us pursuing other endeavors the bicep may be important. Therefore his POV is inaccurate to others, yet he will insult them for their opinion. THAT is arrogance.
THAT (Celorza) reaks of newbie overcompensation. And literal ignorance outside his own view, and even within it.

I believe Celorza actually learns through antagonistic behavior though. I don't care to guess what makes his default antagonistic and negative but it is his communication pattern.

He won't admit it when he learns something new though, unless its from someone he's already made himself "vulnerable" to. My guess is a Napolean Complex here.

I like to do curls.

Curls get you the BABES!!!! I want to get me some ladies and have a good time, they like me and my biceps.

And trapp mann does bumbell curls; surely he can't be wrong.

In fact, it was trapp mann who demonstrate a direct relationship between the size of the bicep and the width of his trapps. Trapp told me once that when he did bumbell curls he lats grew at a ratio of 5:1 to his biceps. For all you dummies that means when his back width increased by 5 inches his arm diameter increased by 1 inch.

I am barely an inch taller than Cel, but I do not have any issues . . . I guess I am more grounded in who I am, I am wiser through my years of existence.

Wow, check out Cel's useless bicep. Why does he flex this useless muscle? Better question: Why does he even train this worthless muscle? Maybe that muscle is bigger than his brain.

Ah! I just couldn't be happier!

cha cha now yall
this time we're gonna get funky

im hella workin out to this tomorow

Lmao niiiice make sure to do your bicep curls...for the ladies

Curls wouldn't help much for wrestlers as there's a lot of isometric in the clinch that won't be improved with a curl. For pullups, it would depend on the grip being utilized, but, again, we're looking at limited carryover.
There is a lot of pushing and pulling during a wrestling match too. Froma take down set up and controlling a clinch to virtually every offensive move, a strong bicep contraction is beneficial. Defensively you would be correct. But if your biceps are strong enough, leave defense to the compound only guy.

Wrestling!?!?!?! What about ARM wrestling? That is a sport, right? I think those guys have "some" bicep strength, but not sure.

those pics make me think that I would want EXPLOSIVE leg/hip strength and major triceps for pushing away. So in this case Cel IS correct, I am def not pulling Sundusky towards me, no bicep work needed here.

these threads are far too common lately

lol I made a statement, I was right in the argument I made and it was agreed upon by Jim thanks to Rodja's input. Now it was just a matter of time for some of the usual people to go and check my personal opinion (prior to my argument) and make all the big fuss they enjoy doing...

In the end they are not going to stop, so I wouldn't know what to tell you...any post I do there will be someone of that group of people checking it and perusing it...Idk what to do about it anymore :/

Just be careful, rupture a tendon and he may help you "walk it off" and hit the showers!

Just because it has the potential to be a stronger muscle doesn't mean that it will be, and alas that same argument points to the fact that Size can lead to more strength, but size is NOT needed for strength anyhow.

My understanding was that due to the fact that the Biceps was in an inefficient position, the power and stress landed on the Brachioradialis , rather than the Brachii or Brachialis.

Anyhow, I wish Rodja or Jason would chime in to tell us what helps out more in rows...IMO Brachii and Brachialis have less importance than anything in those movements and it is the Brachioradialis which will bring the contribution to the lift, being the back the main muscle group being worked.

Bicep strength does take a big toll! The more Bicep strength I have the better I do deads or a few other exercises that help my deadlift! So yea bicep strength as well as every other muscle group is crucial to PL!

Cell played football? Pound for pound yo! Best 130 lb d-lineman I've ever seen!

I guess after only gaining half a pound after a year long all out bulk you can officially call yourself a power lifter and not care about biceps. To each his own I guess. After failing for a year straight to gain any credible mass why not settle for 140 pounds of straight average. (hypothetical)

My buddy Seth!!! 75 pounds short of setting the world record for his weight class in deadlift. He's 143 pounds!

I've started putting del taco hot sauce in my morning tuna. It really livens it up a little. I'll go in, buy one burrito and grab enough sauce for 70.

Whoa! Awesome curl!

I bet he has the same trainer as this guy:

off to the gym to work on shoulders, but NOT like the guy I saw doing front DB raises with an 80lb DB. It was RIDICULOUS! He's my size: 5-7, 175 lbs, no way he can PROPERLY raise an 80lb db

Maybe I can get a video, maybe it's the same guy from the 160lb curl video
